Bump...bump....bump

Oikawa's head rhythmically hit the glass window on the train as it zoomed through town. Two other people were seated on the train. An old woman and a young child. Both of which should have been in bed hours ago. Tooru caught the last train after leaving work a bit late. He hated his job. His boss kept him late, his coworkers were obnoxious, and he came home to a lonely house every night.

Oikawa sighed and watched the glass fog up. He groaned and moved his head a bit. He winced as a piece of his hair got pulled by the metal on the window.

The old woman was smiling in her sleep. The young boy was also smiling, but very much awake.

Oikawa stared at him in awe, It's past midnight by a few hours, how is this kid still so lively?! Did he inhale 12 cups of coffee in the last hour?! Oikawa chuckled to himself and rubbed his sleepy eyes. The boy was cute. Too sunny for this time of night though. His bright orange hair fluffed up every time the train moved erratically and his big brown eyes gazed at everything that passed by outside.

Tooru was confident that this child was at least seven years younger than himself.

The little sunshine made eye contact with Oikawa, who had been staring. He smiled brightly and Tooru flinched. The taller male gave a polite smile back. What was that?! Is he not creeped out? I was staring at him for a solid five minutes--God, Tooru.

"Good evening!" The boy's voice sounded older but was full of joy still.

Oikawa was startled by the sudden start of conversation. "Ah, yes good evening to you too."

"Thank you." The boy smiled warmly and went back to gazing out the window.

Tooru blushed. Maybe he's closer to my age...I'm not a child predator or anything his voice just sounds more mature...I hope... Oikawa leaned his head back again, letting it hit the glass carefully.

Soon, the train slowed at Tooru's stop. He got himself ready to leave, gathered his things. The little old woman woke up, her stop would be the next one--Oikawa often saw her on this train and woke her up when he left if she was still asleep.

When the shuttle came to a complete stop, Oikawa sighed and wobbly stood up. To his surprise, the golden boy also stood. The sunshine darted out of the train and jumped to the street. Tooru flinched back and watched him start skipping down the road. Oikawa blinked and followed the boy out. He shivered as the wind blew through his clothes. Tooru started hustling to his apartment building with his head down to keep his face safe from the chill wind.

"Stop following me."

Oikawa looked up and immediately ran into a small body. "Ah, sorry!" He stepped back and glanced at his victim. "Oh?"

"Why are you following me?" The sunshine boy was glaring at him, not so sunny anymore.

Oikawa waved his hands and shook his head, "I'm not! I live in that building!" Tooru pointed at his apartment complex which stood twenty feet away.

"Oh..." The boy blushed, "Sorry, guess I'm paranoid." He smiled awkwardly.

"It's fine, Chibi-chan, I'm glad you're prepared~" Oikawa laughed and walked around him. "Have a nice night, dear." He continued his quick walk to his complex. The wind was nipping at his ears and cheeks. That poor kid...GOD IT'S FREEZING OUT HERE!  Tooru grumbled as he pried the building door open and rushed inside. Warm air enveloped him. He let out a content sigh and began his hike up three flights of stairs.
