A/N: I am going to apologize if any of the information about the disease is wrong. I have done a bit of research on it but it is usually diagnosed when children are born not when they are teenagers so I tried to make it work. Congenital Heart Disease can go undiagnosed till the 20's or 30's but it is very rare so there is not much information on it so I am using the information for a child.

Yamaguchi Tadashi used to be your average highschooler. He played volleyball with his best friend Tsukishima Kei and he loved the whole team. He always remembered all the times he and Suga stood on the sidelines cheering the team on. This is the complete opposite of how he is now.

Now, he spends his days trying to do as much school work as he can without getting completely worn down while sitting and waiting in a stupid hospital. In his second year (16 years old) he was diagnosed with Congenital Heart Disease, and had no clue how to tell anyone, so he just didn't. Slowly it began taking a toll on him and he was sitting out more during practice and not doing as much.

It also started to take a toll on his and Tsukishima's friendship. They slowly began drifting apart until they were nothing. After graduation, there was no contact between the two and the years of friendship were lost.

Yamaguchi remained in contact with the other team members but none of them knew about his condition. They also never mention Tsukishima, even though they also had contact with him.

Right now Yamaguchi was in one of his many hospital stays. He keeps a journal with him where he doodles, writes, or does whatever in it. He has brought it to every hospital stay, and had it all through high school. As he was sitting there, he was writing about when he was first diagnosed in year two.

Tsukishima and I would go home together everyday and I couldn't change that. I was so scared to tell him about what the doctor told me, that everyday I would walk home with him and then, once he was inside, I would go the opposite way--to the hospital. At first, it was just spending nights here and there at the hospital now I end up going about three or four days a week.

If I have to go to the hospital that week I always talk to my professors and get all of my work but it's hard always missing class. I spend many night thinking about just dropping out of college because the doctors say I could have to start living here as my condition worsens. I just wish I had told someone but it's been three years without a support system. I could tell them but I feel weird telling them after three years.

Yamaguchi stops writing when he hears, "Yamaguchi. It's time for you medicine, may I come in?"

"Yeah." His usual nurse walks in her long whitish silver hair pulled up into a messy bun on top of her head.

"How are you doing today Yama?" She says casually as she starts giving him his medicine which consists of a couple pills, a shot, and some things through his IV. He get a couple other shots through his IV but the one shot has to be given in his arm.

"I'm good aside from the fact that you're putting needles in my skin knowing it's my top fear. What about you Llura?" He says smiling. (I am really bad at coming up with names so I use people from other shows)

"Well aside from your normal sarcastic remarks and that terrible nickname, I am good. Ro and I have a date tonight if I get off in time. We are training a bunch of new kids and college students like you. You're going to have a couple new nurses coming in and there is also a student working with your doctor. They might have found something that could get you back on your feet." She finishes doing his medicine and ruffles his hair. "Do you want me to grab anything while I'm out for you?"

"Can you pick up some Kit Kats and some carrots."

"Sure." She gives him a smile as she walks out of the room. Slowly he goes back to writing.
