One week into University .

"Syd?" I called. "Did you get the invite to Lilly's party tonight?" I asked. Sydney walked out of our bathroom and came over to my desk.
"Her what?" She placed her hand on her hip. "Cate you know we don't do parties anymore." I rolled my eyes.
"Come on Syd, we graduate next year. We went to parties as freshman, we're juniors now, we can't have a little fun?"
"A few weeks with your boyfriend and brother and you're already changed huh?" She walked back into the bathroom.
"I just think, that maybe we'd have a little fun sometime here and there. I mean it is technically still kick-off week. We don't actually start until tomorrow."
"So you want to show up to class tomorrow with a fucking hangover? Hm, not for me. Didn't you say you had a bad hangover when you just were drinking with Joe?"
"Sydney, come on." I walked into the bathroom, she was brushing her hair. "Please. For me? Plus, I'm really fucking missing Joe and I'm not trying to be fucking depressed tonight." She looked at me for a quick second then rolled her eyes.
"Fine Cate, for you." I smiled at her.
"Oh thank you thank you!!" I gave her a hug and she started laughing.
"Just shut up and get ready." I kissed her on the cheek and walked out of the bathroom. I went to our closet and tried to find something cute, Sydney and I rarely ever go out anymore so it's not like I just have party clothes to wear all of the sudden. But then I remembered that I had the dress from Zoe from when we went out. I instantly got a wave of sadness from remembering that night, but tonight was about not being sad. So I'm trying my hardest. "Oh shooot Cate, you look hot. Where'd you get that?" I turned around and smiled at Sydney. I ran my hands down the dress and my smile fell. I missed Joe with everything that I had in me, and I just couldn't stop thinking about that night when we went back to the house, and the morning when he took care of me because I was hungover. I no longer have that anymore, I was starting to rethink the party. "Cate, come here." Sydney pulled me into a hug. "Stop being so sad okay? Tonight's going to be fun, classes don't start until next week, let's enjoy this moment." She pulled away and I nodded my head. She took my hand as we walked out of our dorm room.

Lillian's Party .

We were a couple hours into the party, there were tons of drinking games so Sydney and I played almost everyone they had. Sydney was flat out drunk, dancing on the beerpong table as people crowded around dancing along with her. I didn't really feel like dancing so I went on my own to grab a drink. I tucked a piece of hair behind my ear as I poured my drink when someone came up behind me. I jumped a little before I turned around.

"Scott! Jesus, you scared me." And there he was, Scott Isaac, my ex from first year. Also known as the shitty boyfriend who basically ruined my life. I haven't seen him since second year, and here he was standing right infront of me. Now me, I can barely stand so I almost fell trying to focus on him.
"Whoa there Cate, a little drunk there are we?" I rolled my eyes.
"What do you want Scott?"
"I'm just trying to grab a drink here, just like you Cate. Speaking of which, I thought you stopped drinking." I took a sip of my cup, and I smirked.
"A lot can change overtime bud."
"Clearly. Your friend out there is practically nude in the pool." We both turned our heads to see Sydney in her bra and underwear as she jumped into the pool, looks like she was the life of the party considering she had a bunch of others in the pool along with her. And I was just here having the first conversation in a year with my ex.
"That's Sydney for you. I should probably go check on her. Excuse me." I took another drink, brushed past him and walked out to Sydney. "Syd! Are you okay?"
"Whaaattt, girl I'm frickingg amazinggg." She slurred her words and then she held up her hands and yelled a 'whoo' as people yelled back.
"Sydney, I don't want you drinking anything else okay?"
"Oh come on, lighten up and let the girl drink a little." Some random guy in the pool said, I gave him a weird look and rolled my eyes.
"I think she's had enough to drink." I reached out my hand for Sydney and she gave me a poutey look, I shook my hand and she ended up taking it.
"Byeee guyssss." Sydney called and all the boys booed. I smirked then waved as I got Sydney a towel. I wrapped her in it and tried my best not to let her fall to the ground, I was surprised she could even stand. I myself wasn't doing too good but I wasn't nearly as drunk as Syd. We walked into the house and I bumped into someone again. Guess who?
