the next morning, cate's pov;

I opened my eyes to the sun shining directly in my face, definitely didn't miss that from home but did at the same time. I turned to see the time, it was 8:46am. I swung myself over to the side of my bed and rubbed my eyes. I grabbed the laptop from my dresser then got back under the covers. I logged onto see my courses finally. It had all of my current classes from this semester but they were separated into groups by the day, so normally I'd have like 2 classes a day, sometimes 1 but with one course in total, each class. They'd switch everyday between 6 classes all together through the week, with Saturday and Sunday no classes. Now this one, I have 2 classes a day, everyday, but they're mixed together with 3 courses in one and 3 courses in the other. No class on Wednesday and Saturday. Interesting. It's different, and she did say that it was more work which it definitely is. They're really just trying to make sure you finish from online if you have the opportunity to learn on campus. I guess it's okay. I laughed to myself then rolled my eyes. I heard a knock on my door, looked up to see Caspar standing in the doorway.

"Morning." He said, I smiled and motioned him to come in. "Looking at your courses?" I nodded.
"Yup. It's a lot truly. It's kinda sorta the same amount of work but 100 percent more of the effort." I told him.
"Yeah, well it'll take a lot but it'll be worth it when you've finished this semester." I nodded and smiled. "Do you think you'll return for Senior Year?" He asked.
"I'm not sure, I haven't thought that far ahead but I assume I would since it'd be my last year."
"Yeah, I think you should since it would be the last time on Campus for you."
"Totally." It was silent for a second as I was clicking through things.
"Do you have anything to complete today or does it start tomorrow?"
"Yeah, they might be starting me off easy since I just got into online, I just have one class today. But it's 3 courses, so about a two almost three hour class?"
"Geez." He laughed. "What time?"
"11:30. So I'll probably go take a shower and eat something beforehand."
"I'll make you something, what are you feeling?"
"Ooo, well since you're offering," I laughed. "Waffles and eggs?"
"Comin right up." He playfully pushed my head to the side and smirked before leaving the room, I rolled my eyes.

I closed the laptop then went to grab some clothes from my suitcase, I still haven't unpacked. I'll have to do that after this long ass class, smh. I picked out some sweatpants and one of my Lana Del Rey t-shirts. I walked into the bathroom and took my hair out of my messy bun, I still had some makeup on from yesterday so my eyes were blackened underneath from my mascara then rubbing my eyes a bit ago. I started the water and finished taking off the rest of the makeup before getting in. I stood in the shower for a good almost 10 minutes? Before actually starting my shower. The water was just so warm, it felt like I haven't had a real shower in days, I loved it. The ones in the dorm are just not it. Once I got out of the shower I felt so much better. I put on my clothes and did my hair into two french braids then walked back into my room. I threw my clothes onto the ground, checked the time, it was 10:15 now. I grabbed my laptop and went into the kitchen. Caspar already had my plate ready and was in the process of making his.

"Looks good!" I said as I sat down at the island. I set up my laptop and a notebook next to the side of my plate.
"Good, I'm glad it looks appetizing." He joked, I flashed him a smile.
"I talked to Joe last night." I told him.
"Oh yeah? How was that?" He turned to set down his plate next to me.
"It was good yeah, short but I'm sure he appreciated it. I honestly hope he texts me more often though, it'd be nice to get close again with him as friends."
"Yeah it would be, so we could all hangout again without things being awkward." He walked over and sat down. "But you know he might think that you're not interested in talking to him as much. I mean things were left on a bad note, weren't they?"
"No, we had a pretty deep conversation before I left from holiday. He really poured his heart out to me Casp, so I know he still cares. Well I mean, he did then, I don't know how much rehab changed his mentality." He nodded. "He didn't want me to shut him out, he wanted me to be there and I just pushed myself away from him." I started tearing up, Caspar stopped eating and wrapped his arm around me.
"It's okay Cate." He started rubbing my back.
"I've just been a terrible person Casp. Like even I wouldn't want to be my own friend."
"It's okay, alright? The first step of fixing things is admitting your wrongs or at least realizing they're there."
"I'm just so confused."
"Confused about what?"
"Everything. I can't explain it." I started to sob. He got up from his chair and wrapped me up into a hug.
"Shh, it's okay. I'm here." He said, he was still rubbing my back as I cried into him.
