IX - Girl Talk

We finished eating lunch without hearing another word from him. Tila ba pinararating niya na kahit ano pang ipaglaban ko sa mundo, he already made a decision at kahit magalit or mag-inarte ako, wala na kong magagawa.

Napabuntong hininga siya and closed his eyes. Gets niya na ata na bwisit ako sa pinaggagawa nya. "Alex.. We just talked diba? You can't push me away. Come on." Then he got my things again at nauna nang naglakad. Wala na kong choice kundi ang sumunod na lang.

I didn't walk with him, hindi ako sumabay sakanya para mahalata niya na hindi ko gusto itong ginagawa niya. I stayed behind him, I really feel like a toddler being secured and followed around by guards in school. It really annoys me.

Pagpasok namin sa cafeteria, nabunggo pa ko sa likod niya. Huminto kasi bigla 'tong tukmol na 'to ng wala man lang pasabi. Nakakaasar talaga.

"Ouch.." I held my nose.

"Pay attention Alex.." He said habang deretso pa din ang tingin He was scanning the whole place. "I found Soph, keep walking." Tuloy niya at nauna na naman naglakad, wala na kong choice kundi ang sumunod. Leche talaga. Agad kaming binati ni Sophie when we reached her table.

"Hi guys! Done with lunch?" Sophie asked happily, and she was wearing a mocking smile. Aba, sayang saya pa siya.

"Yes Sophie. Are you staying here?" Kit asked her.

"Uhmm.. Yes, dito na lang siguro kami hanggang mag-bell." Sophie curiously looked at me and I just raised my eyebrows and shrugged my shoulders.

"Okay. I'll be with my friends over there..." He pointed at his friends 5 tables away from us. "If you're going, tell me, so I can walk you both in your room. Understand?" Sermon ng lolo Kit niyo.

"Sir, yes sir!.." I boringly said. "Now, can you go?" Looking at him without any interest.

He didn't respond and started walking away. I sat in front of Sophie and she was jaw dropped and looks like was about to freak out when she said, "What. the. hell. was that?! Serene?!"

"Calm down bes. I'll explain. Naloloka din ako, jusme." I answered her with an irritated expression. Pati ako hindi mapakali. Para akong maiihi pero gusto ko manuntok.

"Oh eh ano nga? Didn't know you were looking for a body guard." She mockingly said. Gaga rin to eh.

"Of course I didn't! Gaga. Siya ang nagsabi na kailangan kasama natin siya at all times, especially when Ron comes back." I rolled my eyes. Di ko talaga maintindihan kung ano ang point niya.

"Ayiee. Yun naman pala, may 'protecting act' and pagiging gentleman. Nagbago na pala." Then she laughed. Wala din naitutulong itong babae na ito eh. At tama siya, when you save someone out of chivalry you ought to protect her too? Ganon na ba iyon? Kailan ba nabago? Matapos ng lahat ng sinabi niya kay Mama, biglang magbabago ihip ng hangin. Baliw na yata siya eh. At binabaliw niya din ako!

"Exactly! He'll be acting like a knight and shining and armor, tapos sa harap ni mommy, sasabihin niya, anyone will do that chivlarous act. Ugggh! Damn chivalry." Galit kong sabi habang nanggigigil pa.

"Oh, eh bakit gigil na gigil ka? Inaano ka bes? Sinabi ba niya sa'yo na she saved you, his damsel in distress because he liked you?" Sagot ni Sophie.

I was taken aback by her question. It's true. Ako lang naman yata ang may ganap eh. Wala lang ito lahat sakanya. I'm just making a mountain out of a mole hill. Eksaherada lang ako.

"No..but.." I answered in a small voice. I felt a little thump in my heart and panic seems starting to rise.

"Ayun. You assumed, didn't you?"
Sabi ni Sophie with a concluding tone.

"Of course not!" Halos pasigaw kong sabi.

"Ay defensive! Hahaha!" She mocked. She then faced her phone and started scrolling on it.

I was left wondering. How did I reach this phase? And what the hell is up to Kit? What game is he trying to play?

My thoughts got interrupted when Jonas approached our table and said, "Hi Soph", Sophie just looked up and smiled at him then her attention is back on her phone.

"Hi Alex.." Jonas continued, "How have you been doing?"

"I feel better Jonas. Thank you for asking." I smiled. "Ikaw?"

"I'm fine, of course. No worries, when Ron is back, we'll be on the look out for you. I will make sure that jerk won't be able to come near you." He said with concern.

"I think I can manage to do that Pare, but thank you." Kit said.

Nagulat ako ng marinig ko siya magsalita. He was standing behind me and was sending Jonas dagger looks. Neither Sophie and I was able to react. I felt the tension and it seems awkward.

"Soph, Alex, come on. Hahatid ko na kayo." Kit calmly said. He started getting my things.

"Tara. Bye Jonas, see you around." Sophie smiled at Jonas.

"Bakit tol? boyfriend ka ba ni Alex?" Jonas then answered.

Kit was silent for a while, so I answered. "No he isn't. Thank you for the concern, I appreciate it." Mahinahon kong sagot sakanya.

Before Jonas can answer, Kit bluntly said, "I'm more than that pare, I'm far more than that." He suddenly held my waist and said, "Let's go princess.." then he looked at Soph, she then nodded and started walking. Jonas was left speechless. Bakit at paano niya nasabin iyon? Hibang na nga ata talaga.

And so was I. His hands in my waist sent shivers in my body that made my heart beat rapidly and woke the butterflies in my stomach.

He's confusing.
