This chapter is just in Amphititre's point of view. For anyone who might misunderstand, this is not a Pothena story. This story is an adaptation of the Poseidon story with Amphititre. The first part of this book was a competition between Poseidon and Athena, which is not part of a bigger love story.

Amphititre
I slept really well and I was woken up by the light on me from the window. Even though we were underground, Hades was able to control the weather. He could make it sunny or wet, hot or cold.

The day was going to be busy soon. By lunch, we would have found out about the Titans. Hopefully. Then we'd have to choose our course of action.

I had been dragged into all of this because I had been wandering through the gardens. If I wasn't involved, right now I'd just be sitting in court, discussing any matters that came up while Poseidon wasn't there. This was a better situation to be in, at least it was more interesting.

Then I wrote two letters; one to my parents and one to Thetis. I guess that they knew that I was in the Underworld but might want to know how I was doing.

Even though my father was in the palace for the two days I had been there, we never interacted more than a hello or simple nod of the head.

Like in Atlantis, two maids were there to help me with anything but I still insisted on doing everything myself. I didn't know what to do so I asked them whether I could go into any rooms.

'All rooms are open except Hades' rooms. You'll see the difference. The walls are grey there. Poseidon is staying there. No one is allowed down those areas except some experienced servants.'

I was about to leave when I suddenly realised that everyone around me was dead. Including the two people I was talking to.

Those who worked for Hades did so for a specific amount of time before going to Elysium where they could have the afterlife of their choice.

I walked down the corridors until I noticed that slowly the walls began to change. They were much more adorned and the lights were brighter here. Then I came to a set of double doors. Slowly, I opened them and saw that it was a bedroom. In the corner, on the window ledge was Persephone.

I apologised and started to leave the room. She told me to stay and asked me whether I wanted a tour of a palace. I agreed and on the way, she explained why she was often alone.

'I am in love with Hades but my mother simply does not accept it. I have to go to the other realms with Hades and not alone like a normal goddess because Demeter might be there to take me away to stay with her for longer.'

After she showed me everything, we got to a large set of gates. I could not see further than a few meters past them. These were the gates to Tartarus.

From behind me, a large creature appeared and started bouncing towards me. I was about to pull Persephone away with me before it stopped, as if it was recognising us. The shape of it slowly transformed into a large dog and Persephone pet its fur.

'Cerberus likes you. He just didn't notice who we were at first.'

When he was not in his scary form, Cerberus was quite a dog. We stayed with him for fa while before Poseidon and Hades came out of the gates and we went back inside.
