Chapter 53

Jackson's POV

"Idiot!!" Mason chucked the TV remote at my head.
Mason was watching a horror movie and it was scaring Sabrina...and me.
I had tried to change the channel but he hit me with the remote instead. I'm lucky it was just that.
Mrs Denham wouldn't have done anything even if he had.
"MASON! JACKSON! SABRINA!" We heard Mrs Denham shout.
"WHAT." Mason shouted.
"GET IN HERE!"
Mason walked out.
I wiped my tears with the back of my hand and picked up Sabrina.
She was getting very heavy and smelly.
There was no hot water in this house so we just skipped showers.
I walked into the room with Sabrina.
There was a lady sat down who was very pretty with a girl on her lap.
Hazel.
Hazel had told me and Tina lots about her Mummy and her family.
I sat down on the sofa trying to be as far away from Mason as possible.
Hazel's Mummy decided she was going to adopt Sabrina and Me.
I smiled for the first time in a while and hugged Sabrina.
We were finally going to have a family.
I just wish Tina was here to enjoy this too.

We got in the car and began driving.
"So Jackson. I'm Demi. You can call me whatever you like. Demi, Mummy, Momma, Poohead, whatever you like."
Me and Hazel giggled. She was funny.
"How do you feel about seeing your Grandma??" She asked.
I had a Grandma.
I smiled.
"Yes, please." I said.
"Let's go then!!"

We pulled up in front of a cute cottage. There were flowers in the garden and a cat sleeping in the middle of the lawn.
"We're here!" Demi smiled.
I got out of the car and followed Hazel to the front door whilst Demi got Sabrina.
I loved not having to worry about Sabrina. I loved not having to carry her everywhere as well.
Hazel didn't bother knocking on the door. She ran straight in and I heard a squeal.
"Hazel!!!" I heard a woman's voice.
I followed her into the kitchen.
There was an elderly lady who was hugging Hazel tightly.
They were sat around the table playing some card game.
Carly, I think her name was, was sat at the table holding a fan of cards.
Hunter who looked the same age as Sabrina was sat in his highchair with some sort of baby food.
"Hi Jackson!!" Carly shouted waving.
I smiled and waved back.
The elderly lady looked up.
"Jackson! My new grandbaby!" She got up and walked over.
She hugged me.
It felt so good to be hugged. I hadn't been hugged in a long time and I missed it.
"You call me Grandma ok and ask if you need anything!" She smiled.
I nodded shyly.
Demi came in behind carrying Sabrina and a bag full of baby things.
She grinned.
"How are my babies??" She dumped the bag on the floor and went over to hug Hunter and Carly then her Mum.

We sat down at the table for dinner.
I had Hazel one side and Carly the other.
Grandma had cooked something called a roast.
It made the whole house smell delicious.
She served it up and we all began eating.
I stared at my plate.
The amount she gave me was what I got a week.
I'm not complaining though.
I looked around the table.
This was what a family is like.
