I was sat in the kitchen on a windy Monday morning. I was having a cup of tea and watching out of my kitchen window.
There was a little girl in the park. On her own. Not wearing a coat.
She had a huge stripy book on her lap and her face was concentrating on the book.
She was cute but very skinny.
She was there for 10 minutes.
20,
30,
40,
50,
Her parents were nowhere to be seen and she hadn't moved from that bench.
She was there the next day.
And the next,
And the next,
And the whole next week,
I decided to take her a sandwich.
I walked over in my pyjamas and crouched down.
She turned round and her eyes filled with fear.
"Hello sweetie, would you like a sandwich??" I asked, shocked how skinny she was. Her stomach rumbled.
She shook her head and stood up. She walked off with her book and you could see her shoes were way to small and her dress was short.
I was concerned for that little girl.
I'm probably just over reacting.
