i m p o r t a n t : this book deals with the racial discrimination robin has and had to face while living as a black girl in the late 80s. don't agree with the views i have on racism? don't say anything, because most likely- i'm correct. this book will also contain racial and homophobic slurs ( and not just because i want them to, but because they correctly portray the shit that our main character Robin gets for her race!!! ) and if you're just reading this because you like River Phoenix, and you don't know or care about the issues that women of color have had to face, this book is not for you! This book is a lot more political than your average fan fiction, and if you know zilch about racism/ political issues, THIS BOOK IS NOT FOR YOU. You will find yourself getting extremely upset about the things said in this book. So, prepare yourself for disappointment, specifically if you're white and have never experienced the hardships of being a black woman in America (or a woman of color in America.)
