Chapter 35 – Instant Flames and Sword Play

Things finally seemed to be falling into place with Giselle’s social life. She had good friends and was allowing herself to get comfortable at Gifted academy thanks to Isaac’s advice.   Still it was hard for her knowing that she had so much to figure out. Not only about whom she was but about her father as well.

Giselle was making her way to her Perfecting your Elements class with Zoey by her side. They had been doing this for the past couple days with Jasmine as well but today she had some sort of appointment with Nathan. An appointment that neither of them knew about.

“Hey don’t you wonder what’s up with Nathan and Jas right now?” Zoey asked practically skipping to class with Giselle.

Giselle shrugged. “They’re probably making out somewhere secretive.”

Zoey giggled. “Ugh, they need to just hook up already, isn’t it driving you insane as much as it’s driving me insane?”

“Uhh No Zo, for starters it’s only been a couple days since Nathan told her he needed time.”

“Time shmime, they’re still making out and hanging like the love birds they are, might as well just tie the knot.”

Giselle stifled a laugh. “Did you just rhyme time with shmime, that isn’t even a word.”

“Whatevs.” Zoey replied. “Like you never rhymed words that exist and don’t exist together.”

            “Actually no I haven’t.”

They came to a stop at a path that separated two buildings. Zoey had a different class that came to the opposite path of Giselle’s perfecting your elements class. Zoey turned to her and grinned. “See ya later.”

“See ya.” Giselle responded before heading down the long concrete path to her class room. She walked in hastily to find nobody inside. Her stomach did a flip as she realized the lights were dim and she wasn’t alone after all. The professor sat there watching her as she walked in.

Next to him was a tall woman with dark hair that was almost black. Her eyes were a light brown and rested on Giselle for a moment before she smiled. Giselle swallowed hard before shutting the class room door and staring at the professor.

“What’s going on?” She managed to escape from her lips.

“Class is cancelled today, Giselle.” He responded while rising. “I made sure of that.”

“What? Why didn’t anyone tell me?” Giselle asked.

“That is because it’s cancelled for everyone except you.” The professor said. “I would like you to meet Sabina Ignis.”
