Chapter 9 - Flaws and All

It had been a couple days since Jasmine and Giselle spent all night playing pool. Most of the students had returned to campus and things seemed to be going back to normal, including classes. She woke up that morning feeling unneasy. She hadn't seen Isaac in the past couple days and she wasn't sure if he was avoiding her or if it was because of the talk he had with her father.

It almost seemed like he disappeared off the academy grounds. But Giselle knew that wasn't true due to the fact that several people, such as Nathan and Jonah, told her that they had seen him around. She wondered why he hadn't dropped by her room as of yet. Though it takes everything in her, she decides not to look for him. Maybe he needs some space. They had been spending quite some time together.

Ever since they returned from Zeptoria he was training her to be a better fighter almost every single day. It was there deal. Yet since he was gone the past couple days, it seemed like there deal was off. She wondered what could possibly be going on but settled for thinking positive.

Space. She thought. Maybe he just needs some space.

Giselle had woke up that morning rushing into a pair of jeans, white top and black sweater. She glanced out the window to see it was a slightly cold day outside and threw on her favorite leather jacket knowing she was almost late for class.

She walked quickly, hurrying to her first class of the day. The campus has many students heading to their classes. Some smiled in her direction. Others waved. Giselle felt odd returning the gesture. She didn't know who many of these people were but she felt rude not returning a hello. She thought for a moment that she might be more famous than she was before. Now that she had saved the school and possibly Zeptoria, she was seen as some sort of celebrity. More than she was before.

Quickly she made her way down the path to her History of the Homelands class. The building was close in the distance. As she walked, her mind quickly thought of Isaac. She missed him. She was okay with admitting that to herself. She wondered if he missed her too.

When she walked into the classroom she wasn't surprised to find a very packed classroom. Everyone was seated except her. She noticed her seat in the back where she sat with Zach and Zoey. She took it rapidly, avoiding the constant stares from her classmates. She wanted to die. Everyone, every last person was staring at her. Some were even whispering among themselves. She didn't know if she could get used to this. And, on top of that she was taking this class without the two people she actually considered friends.

Now one of them was dead and the other was human possibly living a new human life. Giselle wondered if she was supposed to just sit there and act like it never happened. Was she supposed to just play cool and pretend they never existed? It wasn't exactly fair.

Suddenly, as if anything could get worse, Lucas walked in and winked at her. He walked with the most confidence and the hugest grin on his face. She wondered what he could possibly be smiling about. And, right on cue, he sat right beside her. Giselle felt her entire body stiffen. Why was he sitting next to her? She wasn't sure but she desperately wanted a seat change. Too bad all the seats were full.
