"jueri? mikyung!?" a voice rang through her head, voice all to familiar. "where are you two?" jueri was confused. her vision was dark for the first few seconds, and by the time she rubbed her eyes enough to be able to see correctly the sight in front of her had her frozen in her spot.
"it's dinner time girls, i'm sure you're hungry." she couldn't believe it. she watched as the woman walked around the house, checking all the little nooks and crannies in search for the two children.
she watched as her mother smiled. as she breathed comfortably and moved freely around the space of their childhood home. this isn't real.
she found it in herself to move once her mother began to disappear down a hallway, following closely behind her as she approached a door that had unicorn stickers plastered all over it.
that was her room. jueris childhood room- that was hers. and this was the house she spent her baby to toddler days in. she couldn't remember it in full detail due to her being so young, but the sight of the door struck the chords of her memories.
the minute her mother pushed the door open they were met with the sight of a small jueri and mikyung hidden in the pile of stuffed animals sitting on jueris bed.
and it was weird because jueri had absolutely no recollection of this moment. she had no memories of this happening, nor did she ever remember being anywhere near mikyung when she was young.
it didn't make sense. why was she here? why wasn't anyone able to see her? why was she seeing this.
the last thing she had remembered was laying on the bed in mark and jakes shared room before going back into her memories. and then of course waking up in yujuns bedroom, only to be snatched out of the window and knocked unconscious only minutes later.
what was happening?
"oh my goodness! how will i ever find my babies?" her mother giggled, hands on her hips as she stared at the wall; ignoring the very obvious sight of the girls beneath the plethora of stuffed animals. "maybe under this suspicious pile of stuffed animals?" she hummed, coming closer to the bed.
the girls underneath the stuffed animals squealed, quickly removing themselves from the pile and jumping off the bed to make a run for it through the doorway and out of the room, right past jueri who couldn't help but laugh along at how much fun they were having.
she hadn't even realized she was crying. that was until her sight blurred as she looked up at her mother to find her staring right at her with a skeptical look in her eyes, as if she could sense someone was there but couldn't see who.
she couldn't hold back. she didn't care if this was some weird situation where she was a ghost, she couldn't help but step towards her mother and engulf her in a hug.
