Love's Butterfly

Fall

I returned from the summer house a while ago since it became too cold to stay there. I was sitting in my room, on the bed. I had my laptop in front of me, math exercises open. I was just doing homework even though it was Saturday. This evening I'd have my last shift this year since the restaurant is open from May to August. It's September already.

"What time do you have work?" Edith suddenly appeared on the doorstep of my room. "I have 16 to 20". Edith nodded and left the room.

I missed being at the summer house since there I had so much more space and I could be more independent.

I sighed as I pushed the laptop to the edge of my bed and laid down.

"Love!", my mom yelled from me downstairs. "Yeah?", I yelled back. "You got...flowers", she said. I scrunched my eyebrows together and started to walk downstairs. I blushed when I saw the huge bouquet of peonies. I took it from her as she said quietly: "From Dominic". I couldn't help but smile and nod as I walked back to my room.

I put the flowers in a big vase on my makeup desk. I skipped happily to my bed and grabbed my phone.

to Dominic: I miss u

From Dominic: Hey baby is everything okay??

From Dominic: I miss you too.

from Dominic: I miss you so fucking much.

To Dominic: I think everything is okay I just..want u to be here w me

From Dominic: love, I want nothing more but I have to wait until this meeting is done

From Dominic: I'll pick you up after, then we will go to work and then you're going to sleep next to me, okay?

To Dominic: okay yayyy

From Dominic: Good girl.

From Dominic: I want to see you right now.

"How has school been?" Dominic asked as he placed new drinks in the fridge. I shined the wine glass in my hand as I answered: "Good, I'm super burned out, though at least the Matriculation exams are over for now". "I'm proud of you", Dominic whispered to my ear when he walked past me to the register, making me blush.

Suddenly a woman who came to order started to flirt with Dominic. "Haha, you know I do have a number" She smirked and twirled her hair in one hand.

It made me sad. I was also a bit scared about how Dominic was going to react. The woman was beautiful. She had long blonde hair. Boys always choose blondes over brunettes...

"I have a wife," he told dead in the eye. The bitch still kept going. "So...? I won't tell her". He sighed and put his hands around my waist as he told "But I would".

She looked at me up and down in disbelief. "She is your wife...?". Dominic kissed me on the cheek as he spat to that woman "Now if you ever dare to say or even think about something bad about my wife, I'll ban you from these restaurants". The woman looked at him confusedly as he went back to doing the drinks.

I couldn't help but smile a little. I looked around us and saw no one there so when I walked past him, I hugged him from behind. I heard him laugh as he petted my hands on his abdomen.

We were riding home in his car as the gentle raindrops were tapping the glass. The weather had been getting cooler so he borrowed his hoodie for me. I like it though that people start wearing jackets and layering. I liked the crisp air.

"Do you have plans for Halloween?" Dominic asked. "With whom?" I asked laughing. "With your friends?" he asked carefully. "What friends" I laughed but he could hear the pain in my voice. He petted my thigh. I grabbed his hand and petted it.

"I think we should do something then" I noted. "Really?" he asked and I could hear his excitement. "Yeah," I smiled at him.

"There's this masquerade ball...I'd love it if you'd join me", Dominic said as he took a turn to our driveway. I bit down to my lip before answering, "I'd love nothing more". Dominic smiled at me widely and petted my thigh.

"I thought that we could invite Mila too", he said as he stopped the engine. I looked at him excitedly and screamed, "Yes!", while clapping my hands together in excitement.

We wrapped under the cozy blanket in front of the fireplace. I yawned and he asked, "Do you wanna sleep already?". I cuddled closer to his chest and answered "No".

"By the way...have you checked your bank account recently?" He asked. I scrunched my eyebrows in confusion as I asked "Maybe yesterday...why?". I held my breath until he started to explain" You told me on your birthday that your mom does not want you to rely on a man, financially...so I transferred you a little money...it's yours so you're not financially relying on me".

I gulped as I rose to look into his eyes "How much...?". "Check your phone," he told. I could tell that he was nervous. My heart felt like it jumped off my chest when I saw those zeros on my bank account. "20 million...?" I whispered.

"Who is this money from? It's from multiple senders", I looked at my phone worriedly. "Yeah it is, to avoid taxation", he explained. My eyes widened as I looked at him. "You-you", was all I got out as I was breathing heavily.

He petted my back and smiled widely. "But...do you have any money left?" I worried. "Oh love, I don't think you have realized how much money I have".

"Oh my god thank you" I whispered as I hugged him tightly. "I'm a millionaire?!", I screamed as I couldn't help but cry. "Why are you crying, love?". "Because you were so thoughtful...also this will make my life so much better...thank you you're an angel", I said. He chuckled and answered, "I'm gonna marry you so why not give you some money already".

I pulled away from him to look him in the eyes, asking "You're gonna marry me?". I couldn't help but chuckle. "Damn right I will", he smirked and added, "then you'll be a billionaire".

I laughed in relief as my mind started to fill with thoughts. "I can buy a house! Many houses. I can pay off my mom's debt- OH MY GOD I can buy Birkins!", I screamed and clapped my hands excitedly.

"Baby, I'll buy you Birkins, I still want you to ONLY use my cards", he said as he looked at me strictly, raising his eyebrows. I nodded and said, "Yes sir". He petted my hair and said, "Good girl", making me blush.

"Thank you for what you did in the restaurant by the way", I whispered as I petted his palm. He kissed my head and said, "You don't need to worry about other women". I smiled as I looked at the fire in front of us.

"I love you!", I screamed and attempted to shake his shoulders. He chuckled and grabbed my waist, pulling me to sit on his lap. "I love you too baby", he took me in for a hug and squeezed my waist with his other hand and my ass with his other hand.
