Grace and Silas met one night when his car broke down in a thunderstorm. The hardware store was the only building open in the small town, in the window was a young brunette who was painting the thunderstorm. From the moment Silas saw her he knew that she was the girl he wanted to marry. Soon enough they were married with five children and a large house in the same small town where they had met all those years ago. Their family was good and they shared many happy memories together as a family but, it all came crashing down.
Silas had an affair with his secretary and Grace found out. There were no arguments, no weeks of painful screaming matches. Grace confronted him and he left. Without argument. He left his wife and children, he signed the divorce papers and didn't return. He sent cards at Christmas and at birthdays but he never showed his face in the small town again. But despite it all, he's still our father.
