You couldn't hope for much sleep after waking up the last time, so you decided to get up right away.

It was just after seven and the sun was already beginning to rise when you shrugged off your warm bed.

The blue of the sky was only slightly visible from your bed, only just so it could rise above the high treetops.

So you got up and walked towards the window.

To your surprise the sky wasn't as blue as you expected, a gray haze had settled over the early morning sky.

A look down revealed another gray haze.

Fog had settled around the bases of the trees and was hugging them tenderly as if they would burst at any moment if he wasn't careful even for a moment.

The picture that presented itself to you was almost majestic, but you couldn't enjoy it for long.

With every second you stood by the window you became more and more uncomfortable as if a pair of eyes were on you.

The thought combined with yesterday's event made the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and you had to struggle not to look into the reflection in the window as you turned away from it.

You changed into something loose and comfortable before heading down the stairs to the kitchen.

There you started to make yourself something to eat before it got too quiet for you and you turned on the TV, the sounds of the channel that was playing accompanied you while cooking and eating.

Yesterday you sent your parents photos of the house already and every room, you thanked them again and asked when they were coming to visit you for the first time.

Your mother said they would come early next week, until then you would have time to settle in and feel comfortable before they 'come and criticize everything', your mother said in her own words.

For today you had planned to clean everything properly, a basic cleaning so to speak.

Not much time had passed between the death of your great-aunt and you moving in, but a small layer of dust had settled in the house.

Today you also wanted to venture into the basement, but you would start at the top.

You grabbed the aux cable of the audio system in the living room and a short time later your favorite playlist almost roared out of the speakers.

And best of all, there weren't any neighbors to complain about the volume, so in theory you could play music at full volume all night without worrying about a thing.

You went up the stairs and towards the storage room at the end of the hallway, from which you grabbed the vacuum cleaner.

Armed with this, you first vacuumed the hallway, then your bedroom and then the study room, with the box with the old decoration always getting in the way.

With cleaning rags and a bucket of water with detergent, you set about wiping down each surface once.

Even every book in the four bookshelves in the study room was first taken out by you with a slightly wet rag and then the spine, front and back were wiped off.

You gathered the books from each row of the shelf first on the floor until you wiped the shelf they were on with the rag once before putting them back inside.
