Third person POV:

Saori walked around the cave the two firebenders had taken shelter in. She had given two of her hats to them as a way to make them shut up.

Iroh had earned her respect but she couldn't say the same for the prince.

She saw movement in the corner of her eyes. Expecting to see a spirit it was just a small mouse. She turned around and walked back to the cave her hand firmly on her katana.

"Did you find the spirit?" Zuko asked at which she shook her head.

"The spirit must be nearby but just out of my field of vision."

"We can protect ourselves. You don't need to stay with us." Zuko spoke.

"Oh please, you're saying it as if I want to stay with you two, spirits and humans are completely different species. You need special weapons and abilities to fight them. You're average swords won't be enough as the spirit will just heal itself." Saori rolled her eyes. "I'll find the spirit as quickly as possible and we will go on our separate ways."

"Fine."

Time skip

Saori was meditating when Zuko walked towards her.

"What do you want?"

"Nothing."

He reached for her katana but she snatched it before he could get it. "I'll punch you in the throat if you try that again."

"I don't want your fancy little sword." Zuko frowned as he plucked a flower next to her.

"I didn't know you were a flowers person."

"I'm not, this flower is used to make tea and uncle wants it."

Time skip

The three sat on the ostrich horse as Zuko streered the animal to a different location.

"Why you little shit." Saori frowned as Zuko leaned forward and against her back and tightly pulled the ostrich horse's leash.

"Don't hurt my feelings, Saori." Zuko sarcastically spoke, rolling his eyes. "Your prince charming loves you soo much and you call him that."

"What the fuck Prince Zuko."

Zuko fluttered his eyelashes at the Saori as she gagged.

Time skip

"Saori."

"What do you want?"

"Give me my hat."

"It's my hat."

"Did I stutter?"

"Nor did I."

Saori passed the hat to Zuko.

"You can keep it, if you want of course." She mumbled.

Time skip

Saori was sitting leaning against a tree as Zuko and Iroh were asleep.

Her eyes closed when a loud bang was heard in the distance.

She wobbled into a standing position when the spirit finally revealed itself.

"Fucking finally." She breathed out.

Iroh walked out of the shelter as the spirit lunged towards the old man.

"Iroh get out of here!" Saori commanded as she pushed her arm inbetween Iroh and the spirit. Sharp teeth pierced her skin as she let out a low hiss in pain.

She unsheathed her katana and swung it at the spirit.

Blood dripped down her left arm as her right arm moved the katana.

"Saori your arm!" Iroh exclaimed.

"Is that the only thing you see Iroh?" Saori spat, not taking her eyes off the spirit.

The stinging pain along with the lack of sleep distracted her from performing sorcery as she jumped into the trees to get some distance inbetween.

She sent out the snake shadows who curled around the spirit and started to choke it.

The spirit screeched in pain as the snake's venom dissolved into its flesh. It twitched and fell to the ground, shaking violently as more ear piercing noises erupted from its mouth.

Zuko emerged from the shelter equipped with the dagger Saori had given him to use against supernatural beings.

The spirit let out one final scream as it turned to dust. The snakes vanished as Saori jumped down from the tree and went inside the shelter.

The prince didn't understand how calm Saori was with blood dripping out her arm.

He and Iroh followed her inside as she cleaned the wound and wrapped bandages around it.

"Are you okay Saori?" Iroh sat down next to the girl.

"I am perfectly fine. There is nothing to worry about." Saori forced out a smile as she finished bandaging her arm.

Zuko unknowingly felt worried for the girl and sat down next to her.

Iroh smiled to himself before getting up. "I'm going to make some tea."

The teenagers nodded.

"Thank you..." Zuko mumbled so that Iroh couldn't hear him.

"Why?"

"For saving my uncle."

Saori smirked as her mood lightened. "Oh, I couldn't hear you. Can you repeat that a little louder?"

Zuko frowned at the girl's smug grin.

"Did you say than-"

Saori was cut off by Zuko's hand pressed onto her lips. "Shush."

The girl pulled his hand off as she saw a genuine smile on his face. "You look beautiful when you smile."

Zuko's face reddened at the comment and Saori was about to get up when Iroh came back to the two and gave them each a cup. "This tea will reduce the pain." He told the sorcerer.

The three finished their tea when Saori spoke up. "I thank you both for your hospitality, my job here is done. I shall be taking my leave now."

"But your wound isn't healed yet." Zuko protested.

"Do not worry about it prince Zuko, I shall take care of it." She bowed to the two as a portal opened at her feet.
