Chapter 1: The Avatar State

Third person POV:

"Welcome Avatar Aang." The man bowed. "I am general Fong. And welcome to all of you great heros. Appa, Momo, brave Sokka, mighty Katara and the powerful Saori."

Saori raised an eyebrow as Katara folded her arms. "Mighty Katara? I like that."

Fireworks went off as Sokka grinned. "Not bad. Not bad."

The general led the gang inside.

"Avatar Aang and Saori, we were all amazed at the stories of how you two wiped out an entire fire navy fleet at the North pole. I can't imagine how it feels to weld such devestating power. Its an awesome responsibility."

"I try not to think about it too much." Aang spoke

"Avatar, you're ready to face the Firelord now."

"What?" Aang exclaimed "No I'm not!"

"Aang still needs to master all four elements." Katara intervened.

"Why? With the kind of power he possesses, power enough to destroy hundreds of battle ships in a matter of minutes, he could defeat the Firelord now!"

"But sir, the thing is he can only do those things when he's in the Avatar state." Sokka spoke.

"See, it's the special-"

"I'm well aware! Your eyes and tattoos glow, and you're able to summon unbelievable power. Without you we'd be slaughtered even before we reach their shores but with you leading the way as the ultimate weapon-"

"Aang is not a weapon, general." Saori interjected. "You are also forgetting that he cannot get in or out of the Avatar state at his will. He can nor control what he does in the state."

He turned back to Aang. "I will help you figure out how to get into the Avatar state, and then you'll face your destiny."

"No, nothing's decided. We already have a plan, Aang is persuing his destiny his way." Katara stood up.

"Well, while you take your time learning the elements, the war goes on." The general stood up. "May I show you something?"

He guided Aang to a window.

Saori's POV:

I hate this general.

I couldn't hear what they were talking about, but there was a high chance he was guilt-tripping the Avatar.

Time skip

Third person POV:

"I told the general I'd help him." Aang sat down on his bed. "By going into the Avatar state.

"Aang, no, this is not the right way." Katara argued.

"Why not?" Sokka spoke. "Remember when he and Saori took out the fire navy? They were incredible!"

"There is a right way to do this, practice, study and discipline." Katara argued.

"Or just glow it up and stop that Firelord." Sokka said.

"Katara is right Aang." Saori walked into the room.

"See! Saori agrees with me! The person who knows most about the war is Saori." Katara spoke. "She knows a lot more about it then any of us."

"I am flattered Katara." Saori sat down on her bed.

"And if you two meatheads what to throw away everything we've worked for, fine. Go ahead and glow it up." The waterbender walked away.
