before i started writing i made summaries for each character that's basically a bit like a prologue so i thought you may enjoy seeing that :]

okay, first i'm giving you a timeline rundown (in relation to the first chapter) so it all makes more sense:

17 years ago - phil's wife dies, sbi move into their apartment

9 years ago - bad takes ownership over the complex and moves in

6 years ago - dream gets a girlfriend (he doesn't live in the apartment here), wilbur also gets a girlfriend

5 years ago - punz moves in when an apartment frees up so he can be closer to his shop, punz tries to kill himself

4 years ago - karl moved in, puffy moves in, wilbur breaks up with his girlfriend, wilbur finds out his girlfriend is pregnant

3 years ago - jack and niki move in, dream and his girlfriend break up, dream moves in, wilbur moves out of the sbi apartment and gets his own when his son is born, wilbur tries to kill himself, wilbur stops talking to/ avoids his family.

2 years ago - sapnap moves in with dream

6 months ago - sapnap and karl start dating, puffy moves out, wilbur starts talking to his family again

present day - george moves in

okay, now backstories:

23, works at the café.

moved into the apartment after breaking up with his ex-girlfriend because they lived together at the time.

he isn't really in contact with his family- his parents took his ex's side when they broke up (she was very manipulative.)- but he does occasionally talk to his sister, drista (14).

his ex-girlfriend was extremely abusive and manipulative, she was just all around toxic.

dream's relationship seriously damaged his mental health- he has a lot of trauma and the ptsd from her abuse means he is sensitive to loud noises, quick movement, and just unpredictable things like that.

when he was with his ex, she always encouraged him to purge after eating, saying it would be better for their relationship if she was more physically attracted to him- he kept this habit even after their split.

he gets flashbacks from the relationship that trigger his self-harm urges.

despite his horrible experience, dream wants to live a good life and he wants to get better, so, on a particularly bad day, he called sapnap and told him everything- a few weeks later the ravenette was moving in.
