Ch#16: "Gut Feelings"

Maeve's Pov:

"I am still out there you stupid bitch," it was a voice unrecognizable which made me question myself. I hadn't seen anyone like this in weeks, how did he find me now?
"Who a-are you?" I asked backing away from the shadow figure lurking in the corner of the room.

"Your worst nightmare," he said with a sinister smirk before lunging at me as I let out a terrified scream of dread.

I sat up in bed, sweating profusely as tears were streaming down my face. Just then the door opened revealing my Davien with a look of concern on his face, "What happened baby?" he asked approaching me as he sat down on the bed.

"Nothing it was just a bad dream," I mumbled but I knew if I talked about it further, I would break down in tears. I kept looking down but just a second after I spoke, he took my chin making me look up towards his face as he searched my eye's. "I know it wasn't good, I shouldn't have left you alone I guess hmm?" he said as tears formed in my eye's making him soften his orbs as he pulled me in.

I wiped my tears, I wasn't really crying but the fact that the nightmares were still there made me afraid. "Do you want to talk about it?" Davien asked softly still holding me while my head was on his chest as I could feel his abs and bulky muscles.
"I don't know, I saw a man and I couldn't recognize him. He said he was out there and looking f-for me," I told him hiccuping and pulling away and not knowing what to say anymore.

"Baby, don't worry no one will hurt you okay? I will always protect you and keep you in my embrace," my mate retorted in the same soft and calm tone as I nodded my head in acknowledgement holding his hands.

"Okay so I prepared breakfast today, all are your favourites. Let's forget about your nightmare because today is thanksgiving and we want to enjoy it," this made me happy knowing I was going to spend a lovely day with him.

"Sausage, pancake and avacado toast with apple juice?" I asked going inside the bathroom making me look back at him and he nodded smiling, proud of his work. "Off course love, I know what you love," he spoke as I grinned wildly before returning into the bathroom to freshen up. Brushing my teeth, washing my face and brushing my teeth, I wore Davien's hoodie which would make me really happy as it had a very fruity and earthy scent.

I reached the kitchen to see Davien pouring some juice into his glass and into mine. He smiled at me before I sat down and started eating.

"Sweetheart when did you start having nightmares?" my mate asked as he had sat across from me as I thought for a while.
"Probably at 10 or 11," I replied back and looking up I saw his jaw clenching as his eye's closed momentarily at the same time, he sighed out and nodded while I kept on eating a little flustered.

"Can I ask you something Davien?" I spoke in a small voice or you could say softly as I saw Davien's head lifting up.
"Yes baby no need to ask," he replied back smiling at me as a comfortable silence swept across the room and I decided to speak up about my concern.

"Where are Alpha Jacob and Beta Jeremy right now?" I asked biting my lip with the nervousness and breathing out. I knew he didn't like when I talked about them.
"Somewhere where they won't be able to hurt you," he let out a growl at the end of his sentence before eating his pancake and I knew he was mad.

"I am sorry Davien, I shouldn't have asked," I told him holding his hand which rested on the table as he leaned over kissing me deeply soon pulling away. A slight blush coated my cheeks when I looked up at him.

"Don't need to apologise about them sweetheart, anyways we have a party at around 6," he exclaimed and I nodded happily yet still thinking about the nightmare.

I knew I had to stay positive and let all negative energies go, because that's the best I can do. I am not sure why Davien did not want to talk about them, maybe because he thinks they would hurt me or maybe it reminds me of the trauma caused? Yes, it does but sometimes I feel like maybe if I let myself be free and not try to let the thoughts in then I could really be happy.

"Is everything okay love?" bringing me out of my thinking bubble created in my mind, I nodded grinning and eating my breakfast. I didn't need to communicate about everything as I know it might tick him off or make him annoyed but that's what my wolf doesn't think.

"Why should I not trust mate? He is the only person I trust other than Allison," she says growling getting jealous at the the thought of him not trusting us. I know he trusts us very well because if he didn't he wouldn't have let me be friend's with Derek, Zaiden and Aiden specially men.

A few day's ago I had met Zaiden properly and we got to know about eachother like a lot.

"When did you meet Zaiden?" Davien asked perking up his think brows as I could sense him being annoyed or you could say mad.
"On Friday I think why?" I knew he heard my thoughts and shit I forgot that he also has heard me calling him hot and sexy. Shit I did it again.

"You didn't tell me that love," he spoke with a serious face making my eye's widen and I gulped. "I-I thought you knew-," he cut me off by sighing heavily making me a little sad that I hurt him, maybe I should've told him.

He suddenly stood up taking his plate and putting it in the wash basin as I stood up from my seat as well. "Davien please I am sorry," retorted softly almost tearing up before he immediately turned around smashing his lips on mine in a passionate kiss holding a lot of love taking me by shock.

"Baby don't cry, my wolf got jealous," he spoke pulling away and wiping a tear that had left my eye unconsciously. "I am sorry okay?" I apologised again and he sighed kissing me softly again as I wrapped my arm's around his neck, the kiss got heated very quickly.

Gasping a little loudly as he bit my lower lip, the front door suddenly opened as I pushed Davien off me instantly.
"Guys what is goin-,"Derek immediately stopped when he saw us and laughed going back out. "Sorry for interrupting," he giggled as Davien threw a deadly glare towards him as he ran out making him run a hand through his hair.

"Alright well I think I have to meet up with Derek, Aiden and Cynthia for some work," he spoke, "I'll be back by evening okay?" he asked at the end and I nodded smiling like a maniac, am I?
I left for the living room and sat down watching some movies before Davien left pecking my cheek. Before he went, he called Derek and scolded him for entering without permission while I rolled my eye's looking back at the tv.

I suddenly felt really weird as if someone was watching me. I turned around, no one, I looked outside the window, no one and just for assurance I looked outside the garden and again no one.
"Zelda do you feel weird too?" I asked my wolf who only responded with a 'I am not sure, maybe' and went back to her procrastination making me roll my eye's.

But this gut feeling still wasn't good and I still felt like something weird was going to happen but what?

I am really sorry for posting a very short chapter as I usually write till 2000 words but this time I was really busy with school work and I also have a test on Monday so I got to study:(
