XXIII

You're unconscious for a while. It's not until it's morning, you wake up. Din and Cara stood staring out at the town behind Greef, while Greef's bounty hunters followed. They knew even that you had passed out, they had to keep going. There wasn't anything they could do till you woke up.

The bodies of the bounty hunters hit the ground, from Greef's blaster. Din and Cara had quickly drawn their blasters, pointing them at Greef. The loud noise woke you up.

"What was that!?" you yell sitting up

"She's awake." Cara says nodding off to Din

Din comes rushing over to you. "Hey are you alright?"

"Yeah yeah- I'm fine. What happened? How long was I out?"

"Hours." his voice sounded concerned.

He helps you up and you walk past the bodies. "What going on?" you look at Greef.

"There's something you should know.." Greef says with a sigh "The plan..was to kill you and take the kid. But after what happened last night I couldn't go through with it. Go on, you can gun me down, here and now, it wouldn't violate the code. But if you do, the child will never be safe."

"Ok but nobody's telling me what happened." you cross your arms

"Story for later." Din looks at you

"We'll take out chances." Cara says

"The client is-"

"Everyone shut up. We're not gunning him down. We're going through with the plan." Din says

"It's a trap." Cara shoots him a look

"Bring me." Din looks at Greef

"Bring you?" Greef raises a brow

"Tell him you captured me." Din steps forward "Get me close to him, and I'll kill him."

"That's a good idea. Give me your blaster." Greef says holding out his hand

"I'm coming too." you state

"This is insane." Cara says

"Rhia you just woke up-" Din starts

"I'm fine. I'm not going to sit out here and wait."

"I'm coming with you guys too." Cara says

"No no, that would make us suspicious." Greef shakes his head

"As if it isn't already." Cara crosses her arms

"Just tell them she caught us." Din suggests

"Fine. Then she can bring the child."

"No. The kid goes back to the ship." Din shakes his head

"There's no way he's going back in there." You look at Greef

"But without the child none of this works."

"i have a plan. Kuiil ride back to the razor crest with the child and seal yourself in. When you're inside, engage ground security protocols. Nothing on this planet will breach those doors." Din says turning to Kuiil

"Here's a com link. I will keep the child safe. Don't forget to cover your stripes." Kuiil says to Cara before taking the child.

"Let's go."

Greef puts cuffs in both you and Din while Cara covers her tattoo by wrapping cloth around her arm. When you reach the gate Greef stops you guys by pulling your arm aggressively.
