Laine's POV

'Bang!'

The firing of guns everywhere is non-stop. We're trying to make our way protecting ourselves with the use of the weapons we have. I don't even have the idea of where this courage I have right now is coming from. But, maybe they are right that when it comes to survival- you'll do whatever it takes. You'll risks all the cards you have just to stay alive.

Agad akong napalingon nang makaramdam ng presensya sa likod ko. Nanlaki na lang ang mga mata ko at mabilis na yumuko bago bumwelo at malakas itong sinikmuraan gamit ang kanang kamay. Napayuko ito at ilang beses pang napaatras dahil sa pwersa ng atake ko at hindi na 'ko nagsayang pa ng panahon at agad na itinutok dito ang hawak na baril.

'Bang!'

The sound of gun echoed the hallway followed by another and another. It's all bloody.

Mariin akong napapikit at napahawak sa tabing pader para suportahan ang sarili. They are not humans, Laine. I shook my head repeatedly as I tried to look around. Ramdam ko na ang mga butil ng pawis sa gilid ng aking sintido habang inililibot ang paningin sa paligid.

"Fuck off!" Nahagip ng mata ko ang malakas na pagsipa ni Lay matapos siyang makabawi nang kamuntikan siyang mapuruhan ng isang kalaban.

Napakagat ako sa'king labi habang patuloy na tumatakbo habang nakataas ang kamay na may hawak na baril. Napalingon-lingon ako sa paligid. Nasa'n na ang iba?!

"Sh"t!" Napabaling ako ng tingin kay Led nang marinig ang pagmumura nito at nakitang nadaplisan siya sa braso kasabay naman nang pagbagsak ng isa pang kalaban sa gilid niya nang nakahanap siya ng tyempo.

"Led..."

Napakunot ang noo ko at lalapitan na sana siya nang bigla nitong itaas ang baril at itutok sa'kin. Hindi nakaligtas ang pag-igting ng panga nito sa'king mga mata habang mariing nakatitig sa direksyon ko. Dahil do'n ay natigilan ako. Nagtatakang tinignan ko naman ang baril na ngayon ay nakatutok sa'kin habang ang tibok ng puso ko ay nagsisimula nang bumilis.

What was he trying to do?

My heart is starting beating heavy. His gaze was too intense that I wanted to look away but,

"What a-are you doing--"

It's too late as I noticed how his finger move towards the trigger that made me shut my eyes.

'Bang!'

"Don't lose your guard, Laine."

'Blogsh!'

I instantly opened my eyes and turned my back to see an another man in black, fell dead on the ground.

I was almost...

I lifted a thick breath and put my hand on my chest. The beating of my heart was crazy fast! I was back in my track when someone tapped my shoulder as he pulled me out the now, bloody alley.

"You thought I will really kill you, huh?" I rose my head and turned at him. His red lips pursed after.

Did I even expect him to kill me?

"No." I've had the glimpse of how the side of his lips curved up even he's still concentrated in front of us.

"I trust you enough, and it's your choice if you'll break my trust." I added and raise my eyebrows at him.

"Likewise, even you shot me dead, I'll still trust you... I know you have your reason." He countered meaningfully as he glanced at me that made me looked away from his dark gaze. He sure has his own way on how to astonish me, huh?
