*Flash back*
Eunji, unlike Yeona, was someone who liked to talk to people and hence she would make friends no matter where she went. Eunji had been to America for a scholarship program offered by Simon Carter, the director of the college and Eunji's father's friend from when he was in Migug for studies. Eunji couldn't decline the offer for it meant a lot for her and her career. She was happy to join Hunter College of NewYork, however she was sad to leave South Korean where her eomma and be-peu (best friend) were. Her eomma and Yeona were sad but they never showed it to her cause they knew she wouldn't think twice before turning down the offer that could mean a lot for her. Moving in with her dad wasn't a big deal for Eunji. Her parents had split only half a year ago and that was a mutual divorce, resulting in non-chaotic life. Her dad had shifted to America taking his brother along while Eunji chose to live with her eomma on Korean until she was offered the scholarship.
It took her just a day to make friends in her College. She knew English well and that came handy for her. Sarah and Christine were the loveliest among all. And then Eunji met Hansol David Kang, a half Korean half American young man, two months younger than Eunji. He was the nephew of Simon Carter, who was his uncle and was in the same college as Eunji. It didn't take time before Eunji and David fell in love and started dating.
"Sarangheo Eunji..." David had confessed.
"Nado Sarangheo David."
They were inseparable in college.
"You both are the biggest love birds!" Sarah would say.
David's parents were settled in Seoul but he stayed back in America for his studies. He was someone who would never compromise with his career. A man with wheatish skin, brown eyes, prominent jaw line. He wore black rectangular frames and preferred fashion over comfort. David loved Eunji a lot.
When Eunji had decided on moving back to South Korea, David was disheartened and tried pursuing Eunji to stay in America but nothing worked.
"You can stay here Eunji! You can open a shop here. I'll make every arrangements you need. Just stay..." David said.
"I don't want to stay here David. I love you but I love my eomma more and she needs me. Appa has Ye-jun but eomma has no one with her. And this place doesn't feel home to me David. It never has and never will. I can't stay here."
Eunji too had asked David to move to Seoul with her but he insisted on staying in for his career.
"You can come with me to Seoul. Your parents are there too! It will be..."
"I can't Eunji. I...have a career here. I can't give up on it. I can't...go with you..."
"I understand. You should stay here..."
However the tables turned and David was in Seoul as a Curator of Seoul Museum of Art. Eunji and David had decided on not being in long distance.
"Lets...break up David..."
"But...I love you Eunji..."
"I love you too David but I want to do a long distance relationship. It...hardly works and I can't do that. We can start afresh once we...can be in a same place...if ever..."
David had just nodded agreeing.
He had kissed Eunji one final time before he had walked out of Eunji's life.
'This can be our chance.' Davis had thought as soon as he had heard about his job as a curator in Seoul.
He wanted to give Eunji a surprise.
'She'll be so happy to see me.' He had thought.
Eunji and David had not contacted once after they had separated their ways. After Eunji left America, it was hard for both of them but David had suffered more. He never showed it but was deeply heartbroken.
"Its just a girl David. Girls will come and go." His friends would often say.
Once David had landed in Seoul, he had called up Eunji's number.
"Oppa?" Eunji had said, her voice a mix of surprise and happiness.
"I am here Eunji."
"Jinja?"
"Nae."
"Waah..."
"Meet me at the airport. I am waiting."
"Will be there in no time, Oppa."
*Present day*
"Oppa!" Eunji shouted as soon as she saw David from distance.
A few people turned to look but she didn't care. She almost ran and hugged David.
"Eunji..."
"David..."
"I am here."
"Finally."
They stayed in that hug for a minute or two and finally pulled back.
"Lunch?"
"Yes am very hungry."
Eunji and David went out to a nearby restaurant and ate their hearts content.
"So...for how many days are you here?" Eunji asked.
"For a long time baby." David smiled.
"What do you mean?" Eunji was perplexed.
"Hello. Nice to meet you. I am the new Curator of Seoul Museum of Art." David smirked.
"Mwo? (What?) Seriously?" Eunji asked.
"Seriously."
Eunji got up at once and hugged David and pecked on his lips quickly.
"You seem so happy."
"Because I am happy! So happy!"
Eunji kissed David again and he returned the kiss.
"So?" David asked.
"So? Mwo?"
"Are we going to date?"
"Yes I guess?"
"Yes we are!"
Eunji giggled.
"Bogo sip-eoss-eo (I missed you)." David said looking into Eunji's eyes.
"Nado."
"Tell me about your shop?"
"Yes. So its in the main market. Its named Miso. I have sold quite a lot paintings. I sold fourteen today!"
"Daebak!"
"Yes. And all these were bought by one single man. I think he is some company's director or something. Looked rich. He brought his manager along."
"Hmm... What about Yeona? How is she?"
"Same as before, the loveliest."
"And did she do anything about her fashion?"
"Yaa! She is good how she is!"
"Nae nae!"
David had left for his house soon after leaving Eunji smiling to herself.
"Oh you are early today." Eunji's eomma said as soon as she reached home.
"Nae eomma." Eunji couldn't stop her smile.
"You look so happy. What's the matter?"
"Sold fourteen paintings at once today." Eunji didn't include David.
"Jinja? Waah! That's huge!"
"Yes eomma!"
"See the Shaman wasn't wrong!" Her mom said.
'The Shaman! Yes! She said I'll get my significant other soon! David?' Eunji thought to herself.
She ran upstairs without looking back and took her phone out and called Yeona without any delay.
"Yeona!" Eunji shouted once Yeona had picked up.
"I want you to meet someone..."
"Who?" Yeona said in almost a whisper.
"David. He is here!"
"Mwo?" Yeona's voice cracked.
"Were you crying? What happened?" Eunji asked concerned.
"Ah its nothing. You say why is he here?"
"Tell me Yeona!"
"I just...missed my halmeoni..."
"Ah...her..."
"I am okay. You tell me?"
"You want me to come over? I can come if..."
"Andwe. I am okay. You tell me!"
"Okay so I'll start from the morning."
"Please yourself." Yeona said.
Eunji explained Yeona about the Shaman and how she had predicted Eunji's future and how things seemed like to actually happen as she had said.
"I didn't believe her at first but now I think I do!"
"You sure about David being 'The One'?"
"I think so. The Shaman was right about my business and I sold fourteen arts today at once."
"Yes that is true..."
"Wae?" Eunji asked as Yeona fell silent.
"I think I too should see that Shaman. I'll get a reading."
Eunji laughed out.
"What?"
"Sure we'll go get you read." Eunji laughed again.
They hung up soon enough.
Eunji freshened up and had her dinner with her mom. She came up to her bed and sat cross legged and checked her phone.
David: Lets meet tomorrow?
Eunji: Surely.
David: Cafe Croissant at 5?
Eunji: Works great for me.
David: Bring Yeona too. Never met her before, lets meet your best friend too.
Eunji: Haha. Okay.
Eunji smiled and closed her eyes.
