“Holy shit,” I whispered, my eyes widening in excitement. Recently, I had decided since Sam and Dean were out on a hunt, that I would explore the bunker. The only reason I wasn't with them, was because on the last hunt, I had twisted my ankle pretty badly, so Dean, being the over protective boyfriend he is, forced me to stay back this time.
Currently, I found myself standing in a small room, that was isolated from the main part of the bunker, and hidden by a trap door that was under a carpet. The only reason I discovered there was a trap door there was because I tripped over the rug, and it moved to reveal the trap door. Of course, being the curious person I am, I had to check it out, and good thing I did too.
In front of me, sat the most beautiful piano I had ever seen, with many other instruments, from guitars, to maracas. A huge grin spread across my face as I made my way towards the beautiful sleek, coal black piano. I slid onto the bench, and uncovered the black and white keys, that looked barely touched.
I pressed couple keys, and listened as the notes lingered in the air, sounding marvelous. I hadn't gotten the chance to play a piano in what felt like forever. When I was younger, my mom taught me how to play, and now that she's gone...Well, whenever I play the piano, I feel closer to her, and like she's still here.
Finally, I reached the beginning of the vocals. Smiling, I opened my mouth, beginning to let the lyrics float off my tongue. Warrior, by Beth Crowley, was the last song my mom listened to. She loved it, and begged me to sing it for her. I did, and with her last breath she told me “You are my little warrior,”
That was when the heart monitors flat lined, and the cancer won the battle. As I sang, I couldn't help but let a few tears fall, but I didn't stop singing. I just closed my eyes, and pushed forward. When I finished, I sighed, feeling accomplished, but that was when I heard clapping. I jumped, nearly falling of the piano bench, only to see Dean standing in the doorway.
“That was beautiful. Why didn't you tell me you could sing? I would have shown you this room sooner,” He said softly. “You knew about this room?” I asked. Dean smiled, and nodded. “Found it a couple weeks back,” I smiled, and quickly wiped my tears away, but it was too late. “Y/N, what's wrong?” Dean asked, coming forward, and tilting my chin up with his hand, so my eyes connected with his forest green ones.
“It's just...Whenever I play the piano, I think of my mom,” I whispered. Dean knew what happened with my mom. He met her before she passed, about a year ago. “I'm sorry baby,” He murmured, and pulled me into his strong arms. I hugged him back, and sighed contently, feeling better by just being in his arms.
That was when a thought hit me. Did Dean ever come in here, and play some music? I knew he could play the guitar and sing because he did it once for me. We had gotten into a big fight, and he had apologized with a song. At the time, I had absolutely no idea Dean Winchester could sing that well, or play the guitar, so I forgave him, and we went out merry way.
“Dean, do you ever play in here?” I asked, pointing over to the guitar. Dean's cheeks flushed a light shade of pink, and I grinned. “You do! Will you play for me? Please? You heard me playing! It's only fair!” I begged. Dean grumbled in annoyance, but sighed defeatedly. “We don't tell Sam, or Cas, or anyone! Ever!” He spoke sternly.
I nodded, and pretended to zip my lips closed. Dean gave me a look, but slowly picked up the acoustic guitar, and grabbed a pick, also grabbing a stool, and sitting in front of me. “I uh...Learned a song recently...Because it's called Angeles,” Dean said. I raised an eyebrow. Angeles was my last name. Y/N Y/M/N Angeles.
He took a deep breath, and begun to play. I stared in awe as Dean easily played the song, his voice as sweet as honey. When he finished, I was grinning like mad. “Dean...That was amazing!” I said, as he put down the guitar. I quickly went over to him, and gave him a big hug, which he gladly returned.
“You should sing like that more often,” I added. Dean scoffed. “Nah,” He said, pulling away. I pouted, and gave him my puppy eyes. Dean took one look at me and crumbled. “Dammit, why did Sammy have to teach you how to do that,” He grumbled. I giggled, and Dean stopped suddenly. “Y/N...Sam and I...We weren't hunting,” He said softly.
I frowned in confusion, tiling my head slightly. “Why are you telling me this? And...What were you actually doing?” I asked, feeling nervousness swell into my stomach. Dean gulped, and ran a hand through his hair. “We were...Shopping,” He mumbled. I frowned. “What?” I asked incredulously. Dean bit his lip, something he'd do when he was nervous about something.
“Y/N, I have loved you, since the day I set eyes on you five years ago. It may not have seemed that way since I was...Kind of a...Man whore, as you would so kindly put it,” Dean began. “Anyway, When I asked you to be my girlfriend, three years ago, and you said yes, it was the happiest day of my life. So today...”
Dean suddenly got down on one knee. I gasped, and tears sprung to my eyes. “Oh my god,” I whispered, feeling joy spread through my body. Dean pulled a small box out of his pocket. “Sammy and I went shopping for rings,” He chuckled. “Anyway, will you make today, the new happiest day of my life, and marry me?”
I nodded, and flung myself in Dean's arms. He squeezed me and spun me around, grinning like a maniac as he slipped the ring on my finger. “Oh god yes!” I whispered, pulling Dean's head down to kiss him. He kissed back, and wrapped his arms around my waist. “I love you Dean Winchester. “And I love you Y/N soon-to-be Winchester,”
