"i'm coming in," you announced while opening the door to one of the practice rooms. you saw nct in the room and closed the door behind you, "hi guys."
"y/n! what's up?" taeyong spoke.
"i just came here to watch you guys. the choreographer wanted me to stop by and make sure you guys were good," you mentioned and set your backpack down at an empty spot.
"we're marking through it a few times and then we'll go full out," johnny mentioned. you nodded your head and leaned against the mirror, standing in the middle of wall.
they continued their rehearsal, marking and cleaning up the choreography that they learned yesterday. after a few minutes of going through their choreography a few times, you played the music for them and watched them dance with more energy. after they finished the dance for the first time, you stopped the music from repeating.
"it's looks good," you spoke the truth. you turned to face the mirror and got down to one knee, "when it's lucas's part, you guys need to squeeze your core and really lean. oh, and when you come back up, make sure your arms straight for this thing," you said and demonstrated. some of the guys followed you and fixed how they were doing certain steps. "oh, i can't remember who's singing at this part, i think it's you tae il, but anyways, you guys need to make sure to exaggerate this movement. watch me," you said and demonstrated again. "did you see the difference?"
"yea," some of them nodded their heads.
"can you guys run the whole thing again?" you asked. they immediately went to their sporting spots or off stage. you played the music and sat down against the mirror. they ran through the dance a few more times. "that time was good," you said. "you guys should take a break," you said to them.
most of them left the room while a few of them got on their phones and sat on the floor.
winwin went over to you and sat down next to me.
"don't hug me, you're too sweaty," you said to him.
"hey, that's mean..." winwin whined.
"but it's the truth," you said to him and grabbed a water bottle from your bag. you held the water bottle out to him and he happily accepted it. "thank you y/n," he said and twisted the top off before chugging some of the water down.
"hey, don't drink it to fast. you could accidentally choke on the water," you instructed and stood up.
"i'm fine," he said once he stopped chugging the now almost empty water bottle. you walked to them sound system and started playing music. then, you walked to the middle of the room and started going through some new choreography that would soon be taught to nct.
you knew everyone was glancing at you as everyone took their break and you saw winwin smiling the whole time as he watched you. while dancing, you heard your phone receive a text message and saw that the original choreographer was told to start teaching the guys the new choreography but she was stuck at another event, so you had to teach them as much as you could.
"hey guys, i have to teach you guys a new routine," you mentioned to them.
"a new one?" jeno asked.
you nodded and texted the choreographer back, saying you would do it. "yea, there's a new one besides the one you guys learned yesterday. if you guys don't mind, i'd like to get started now."
the guys either nodded or replied with agreement and gathered behind you. you started teaching them the new choreography, which surprisingly was quicker to teach than what was told to them yesterday, but there weren't any spots or little solos so it'd probably be another day of fixing stuff before the routine was good to go.
"badada, badada," you made sounds to indicate the timing and the moves while you taught. "and then it'll lead into the ending pose."
"wait, that was it?" lucas asked.
"yup, we're done so if you guys want to run it before practice tomorrow—"
"thanks y/n!"
"see you later!"
"goodnight!"
all of nct escaped the priso— the practice room and you laughed. you noticed winwin drinking the rest of his water and hugged him.
"oh, now you're hugging me?" winwin said once he finished his water.
"well i'm sweaty from teaching so i might as well hug you," you said to him and both of you laughed. "wanna get out of here?"
"mhm, let's go get ice cream," he suggested.
"that sounds like the best plan ever."
