[The Crystal Gems are about to complete the fusion dance to form Obsidian. Lapis, on the other hand, watches them patiently.]
Lapis: ...
Bluebird (Aquamarine): They're fusing! We've got to do something to stop them!
Bluebird (Eyeball): Why? Interrupting them would be rude.
Bluebird (Aquamarine): Common sense is on sabbatical.
Bluebird (Eyeball): Excuse me?
Bluebird (Aquamarine): We must stop them immediately! Who the hell cares if it's rude to do so?!?! *shouts out to Lapis* Lazuli, don't just stand there like an idiot! Do something to stop them from completing the fusion!!
Lapis: Classic.
[Lapis proceeds to create a water ball, then hurls it at the Crystal Gems to prevent them from completing their fusion dance, but that's when they begin to glow, so the water ball dissipates on contact with them. The five gems glow and spiral in a pentagon shape, a colossal eight-armed fusion begins to take form. The result is the massive molten fusion Obsidian.]
[Obsidian appears on the scene letting out a powerful guttural roar, everyone present is sent flying into the air by the powerful shockwave, completely destroying Lapis' giant water clone in the process.]
[Lapis steadies herself in the air with her water wings.]
Lapis: Un-unbelievable! That shockwave completely destroyed my water clone, how is that possible?!
[The shockwave sent everyone into the air, including Peridot and Connie, which caused Peridot to accidentally let the two Lapis Lazulis she had previously paralyzed with her limb enhancers escape.]
Mean Lapis: *excited* We are free at last!!
Nice Lapis: Yeah!
Mean Lapis: Let's fly outta here, shall we?
Nice Lapis: Sure thing.
[The two Lapis Lazulis fly away. Peridot steadies herself in midair by using her metal powers on her limb enhancers so that he can fly.]
Peridot: Don't think I'm going to let you get away!
[Peridot fires the tractor beam of her left limb enhancer at the two Lapis Lazulis.]
[Mean Lapis notices the incoming Peridot's tractor beam.]
Mean Lapis: Wh-what's that?!
[Mean Lapis manages to narrowly dodge Peridot's tractor beam by performing a maneuver.]
Mean Lapis: *to Nice Lapis* Look out!
Nice Lapis: What did you sa-?
[Nice Lapis didn't catch Mean Lapis' warning in time, and ended up being caught by Peridot.]
Mean Lapis: NO!
Peridot: Tch, I missed one.
Mean Lapis: You, over there! She's very important to me, I demand that you release her immediately!
Peridot: Sorry, but I can't do that.
Mean Lapis: Then you leave me no choice but to make you to release her!! *charges at Peridot*
[Peridot fires the tractor beam of her right limb enhancer, Mean Lapis however, dodges it with ease. Peridot tries a couple more times, though the result is the same.]
Peridot: *thinking to herself * Heck, she's fast! However...
[Peridot turns her right limb enhancer into a plasma cannon.]
Peridot: I'm not out of options.
Mean Lapis: *pauses* Whoa! No, don't you dare! *she said in fear*
Peridot: Yes, I DO dare!
[Peridot aims her plasma cannon at Mean Lapis.]
Peridot: Here you go, you clod!
[Peridot fires an energy blast at Mean Lapis.]
Mean Lapis: N-no way!!
[Mean Lapis manages to wrap her water wings around her body at the last second. The water absorbs part of the impact, taking little damage, but even so, the energy blast sends her flying into a building, pinning her to the wall in a humanoid-shaped crater.]
Mean Lapis: *weakly* Okay, I-I've got to admit... that really hurt.
[Mean Lapis falls out of the wall and hits two rocks before hitting the ground.]
Peridot: Wow! She's quite tough. She didn't even poof after taking a direct hit from my limb enhancers.
[Connie can suddenly be heard screaming in terror.]
Perisot: Hm? *turns to Connie*
[Connie is seen plummeting towards the ground from high up.]
Connie: AAAHHH!! I'm gonna crash into the ground!!
Peridot: *worried* I gotta save her! Steven will never forgive me if I let her die!
[Peridot fires the tractor beam of her right limb enhancer at Connie, catching her in time.]
Peridot: Gotcha! Man, that was a close call. You can't even imagine the mess I would've been in if I'd let you die-- huh?
[Connie is seen turning blue inside the tractor beam due to lack of air, Peridot notices this, so she releases Connie's head so she can breathe.]
Connie: *coughs and gasps for air* F-for a moment I thought... I was going to die.
Peridot: From the fall or from lack of air?
Connie: Both.
Peridot: Oh, oh... I'm so sorry. This thing is not meant for humans.
Connie: No, it's fine! I'm really, really grateful to you for saving me.
Peridot: No problem! Luckily, the limb enhancers are metal, so I can fly without using the helicopter fingers.
Connie: I see.
Peridot: By the way, are you comfortable in there?
Connie: I'm fine, don't worry.
Peridot: Well, then... what should we do?
Connie: I think for now it would be best to get out of here and find a place where we can be safer.
Peridot: Got it. Let's fly out of here!
[Peridot and Connie fly away from the place.]
【Meanwhile.】
Obsidian: *growls* ...
Bluebird (Aquamarine): *frightened* The feeling in the atmosphere suddenly changed.
Lapis: I can tell, their presence is now incredibly menacing and imposing. I find it hard to believe how gigantic they've become.
Bluebird: Y-yes, they are intimidating.
Obsidian: *speaks in a deep, intimidating voice* Hey, you two!
Bluebird: Even their voice is pretty scary.
【Note: In the show it wasn't entirely clear whether Obsidian could articulate words or not, but if I had to justify why HERE they can, I'd say the Crystal Gems' synchronization is better this time, or maybe 'cause Steven is more powerful now, I don't know, no one really cares, do they?】
Obsidian: I don't want to hurt you, I recommend you surrender right now!
[Bluebird (Eyeball) gets overexcited and immediately summons her ice sword.]
Bluebird: In your dreams! No matter who or what comes, I'll fight to the end!
Lapis: *admiring her* Oh, what great words, ma'am!
Bluebird (Eyeball): Of course!
[Obsidian is hit by two rockets, which explode, but they don't even flinch.]
Obsidian: *grunts* Tch.
[Obsidian turns around and sees several Homeworld ships flying over the area. The ships suddenly open fire on them from all directions.]
Obsidian: I forgot these things were still around.
