Clem took a breath before knocking onto the oak door . She thought Louis was still mad at her but she still went to see him anyway . The door opened and Louis' mum stood , a smile spread across her face as her eyes met Clem's gold ones .
"Clementine ? Come in ."
"Hell-.. woah is your hand ok ?" Clem asked , stepping in as she gestured to the now red cloth planted on the woman's palm.
"Yeah it's only a small cut , No biggie . Louis was supposed to be back with bandages but he's been gone for nearly an hour .." The woman explained , leading the teen into the kitchen . She had called her son twice but no answer .
"I'm guessing he's the reason you came over ?"
"I just came over to check if he was alright ." Clem answered , noticing the worried expression on her face .
"Do you want me to find him ?"
"no it's ok . He'll be back soon . Here have a dri-" Louis' mum tried to offer the girl a drink but was cut off.
"No its ok Miss Smith .. I'll go find him . You can go round to Lee's I'm pretty sure he has something to help with that ." Clem insisted , escorting Louis' mum out of her house.
"Thanks , Clementine . And by the way , it's Vicky ." Louis' mum explained , still holding the red cloth to the gash in her palm .
"You be careful now ," Vickey explained , knocking on Lee's door as she watched Clem stroll to the shop Louis was potentially at .

Sophie stared aimlessly at the items on the shelves . She couldn't even remember what she came in for and she's been staring at the same loaf of bread for 5 minutes . Her memory soon refreshed and she remembered that she came in for toothpaste ; she immediately moved out of the bread isle and peaked down the isle that had toothpaste in it . She picked up the toothpaste her family normally had and made her way over to the till to pay . Once it was the redheads turn , she rolled up to the cashier and handed in her toothpaste .
"That's £1.99 ." The unhappy employee groaned , it was obvious she wasn't happy with her job . Sophie fiddled into her pocket , pulling out all the money she had brought with her and tossed it onto the counter .
"You're 19p short ."
"Seriously ?" Sophie tried to look through all of her pockets in her jacket and joggers , only a 5p . She placed the money into the woman's hand .
"You're still short .."
"Oh come on , give me a break . It's literally 14p .." Sophie argued , she just wanted to go home .
"I'm sorry but if you can't afford your toothpaste then you can't have it ." The miserable woman mumbled , sliding the box of toothpaste away from Sophie .
"Please just help me out here ." Sophie begged , she couldn't be bothered to walk all the way home to come all the way back again .
"I'm sorry Miss , but you've got to move . You're holding up the line ." The cashier moaned , bluntly .
Soo enough , A hand slapped a £5 note onto the counter quite hard which startled both of the girls .
"Let her keep the change ."
Sophie glanced up and down at her saviour . The girl's curly hair tucked neatly under her baseball cap and her jacket fit her perfectly .
"W-wha.. clem ?"
The employee slid the box of toothpaste back over to Sophie and tossed her the change . The red head fumbled with all of the coins before trying to catch up with the small teen who was walking away .
"Clem wait!" Sophie called but she wasn't listening .
Clementine peaked around the corner of an isle , peering down the medical one . She was spying ?
"What are you do-"
"Shh." Clem hushed her , watching closely at the scene in front of her z
Sophie got confused and decided to peer down the isle to take a look . She wasn't being stealthy at all .
"Louis ?" Sophie muttered . Clem quickly pulled her aside so she wouldn't be seen .
"Shh .. wait ." Clem ordered . Sophie shut her mouth and watched the dark skinned boy speak to a man Sophie's never seen before .
"Why didn't you come back ?" Louis asked , pulling away from the small hug he and his dad shared a moment ago .
"I didn't think you or your mother would want me back .. after everything you've heard about me ." Louis' dad stumbled over his words .
"I was planning to honestly .. but I just couldn't ."
"I never knew you were in prison ." Louis explained , he now knew where he got his freckles from .
"Neither did mum ."
The tall man gave them a confused look .
"Surely they must of told yo-.." Louis' dad squinted his eyes past his son , he locked them on a girl who was peering round the corner .
"What ? What is it ?" Louis asked , turning around to see what his father was looking at .
"Clem ?"
Clem couldn't believe her eyes . He's out early ?
"Clem where are you going ?" Sophie whispered , trying to pull the girl back into the hiding spot .
"Mr, Smith ?" The girl with the Baseball cap questioned , watching a smile of joy appear of the Man's face . Clem didn't waste time before hugging the man tight .
"I thought you were in there for another year .."
"I got lucky , real lucky ." Louis' father laughed , patting the girl on the head . He looked at Louis who was utterly confused as to why clem was here .
"Oh Louis , this is Clem-"
"Dad I know . She's my girlfriend ." Louis admitted , earning a raised eyebrow from his father which made him gulp .
He looked back at Clem and then to Louis again ; smiling .
"You have my blessing ." He joked pulling down Clem's hat to cover her face .
"You're still wearing this old thing ?"
"You bet ." Clem laughed standing next to Louis who still held onto the bandages.
"Oh shit ! Louis , Vicky needs those ."
Mr Smith jumped at the name of his wife .
"Why ? Is she okay ?"
Louis sprung into action , Well sprung into the queue more like and waited .
"She just cut her hand on a piece of glass ." Clem explained , remembering what the cut looked like.
"You should see her , she's at Lee's."
"I'm pretty sure that she wouldn't want me there ." Louis' father spoke , picking up his basket of unpaid items .
"Come on .. you won't know until you try ." Clem said , checking to see if Sophie was still round the corner . She wasn't .
"You want to see her don't you ?"
"Of course but I -.."
"Then come on , as soon as you pay for these we can go ."

"I still play baseball you know ? I'm pretty good at it ." Louis boasted with a wide smile on his face .
Louis' father laughed as well as Clementine .
"Careful son , I don't want you tripping on your Ego to your IQ."
"Oh come on . I don't have a big Ego ." Louis said with a smirk , his blocked nose made it funnier .
"I'm too cool for that ."
"Christ ," Clem muttered to herself as she facepalmed at her boyfriend's behaviour .
"I'm just happy that you're back dad ." Louis stopped messing around and smiled properly at his father .
"Sorry that I didn't come back sooner ." His father apologised , but quickly covered up his guilt with another smile .
"So , where abouts do you camp clem ?"
"I'm not on the streets anymore . I live with Lee , he's next door to you ." Clem explained , a slight skip in her walk .
"That's good ." Louis' dad said , worried that he would be back on the streets if Vicky didn't accept him . The man's skin became a bit clammy as he recognised the familiar house . It was his house , his home .
Clem quickly ran up to Lee's front door and knocked . Louis stood by his dad and smiled sympathetically at him .
"It'll be fine dad . Don't worry ."
The door soon opened to Louis' mum , her hand bandaged up professionally . The woman's brown eyes widened at the sight of the man standing next to Louis . Her hands shook as she gripped tighter onto the oak door . Clem gulped , not knowing what would happen .
