"No no (Name)-shhi. It's not good. Again," Sung Deuk spoke up again. "Move your arms in a more circular motion,"
Repeating the step again for about the twelfth time you finally succeeded. The older man nodded in satisfaction.
"Good, now keep going. The beginning to the end. I'll be back," he said stepping out and leaving you alone. You fell to the floor, panting. Yeah right bro I need a break...I need one break...5 minutes. You rolled over and reached for your water bottle. Currently, you were working on learning the choreography to Go Go, one on one with your dance choreographer. Taehyung was true to his word; it had only taken Mr. Sung Deuk one day to think up the dance. And, after he had gone and practiced with every other member, he turned to you, which explains your current predicament. It was currently 8:30 p.m and you had been practicing for about 5 and a half hours. The other members had gone home and here you were. You had noticed that he was spending a lot more time working on your dancing than the others. Well, they're professionals so they know how stuff works here.
Sighing, you stood up and cracked your back. Humming Jimin's lines in your head along with the music, you started dancing. You had memorized the basic steps for the entire song, but as the BTS reputation goes, each step had to be done to perfection. You were in the middle of Taehyung's YOLO YOLO part when your teacher came back. You had went over it many times. How many, you didn't know. Nor for how long he had been gone, but you were determined. You wanted to impress people. You wanted people to look at you dancing and think 'now that's the one who makes the best 8th member of BTS.' You were so into it, you didn't notice Sung Deuk standing in the doorway, watching you. Although you weren't as good of a dancer as Hoseok, he did admire your determination and hard work. Not once had you asked him for a break, taking his endless scolding with only the intent to prove him wrong. He had warned you that he would be just as harsh on you as he was with the others, and you wholeheartedly agreed. He noticed, your movements were a mixture of Jungkook and Jimin's. Your body moved fluidly and had the flexibility that the 95 born male had, yet held the fitness and power of the youngest. But, again, you lacked the ease that J-Hope held, which is why he was considered the best dancer. Once you finished, he watched as you began to rewind the music, wiping your sweaty hair out of your eyes.
"Okay (Name)-shhi. I think that's enough for today. You improved a lot. Good job," he smiled lightly.
"But Seonsaeng-nim, I just want to run through it one more time," (A/n: According to my very reliable sources **cough Google cough** this means teacher and idk if that's the right thing to say but imma go with it. I'm trying my best...).
He smiled and shook his head.
"Go home, (Name)-shhi. Take rest. Do you know what time it is?"
"Um...8:40??"
He chuckled.
"It's 10:30,"
Your jaw dropped.
"You haven't even eaten. Go home and get some sleep. We can practice more tomorrow, okay??'"
You sighed and nodded.
"Goodnight Seonsaeng-nim," you bowed, to which he reciprocated, bidding you a good night. As you walked out, Soo Mi was waiting for you.
"Unnie!! What are you doing here??" you asked.
"Since the boys already left, I thought I could drop you home," she smiled.
"Ah, you didn't have to. I could have just-"
"GREAT LETS GO!!"
***
"So how is it being a trainee?" Soo Mi asked, her hands on the wheel. You shrugged.
"It's good, but a lot of work. I feel like I barely have time to take a breath," you sighed. She nodded.
"That's understandable. But are the boys being okay to you?"
You nodded with a smile.
"They are. I know that it's awkward for them. But none of them are rude. Well, Jungkook sometimes doesn't like being around me but he's still not bad,"
"It'll take him some time. He's still a baby," Soo Mi laughed. "Who's the nicest to you?"
"Hmmm. I think they're all nice, but the ones who I think I'm most comfortable around are probably Seokjin and Yoongi,"
Soo Mi's brows shot up in mild surprise.
"Yoongi? Really? I mean Seokjin was believable but..."
"Why not Yoongi?"
"Yoongi's just...I thought he would be the last to warm up to a new member. I didn't expect him to be so open to you. No offense,"
"Yeah, Yoongi stayed up with me and helped me with my song,"
"Wow, he picked you over sleep?? He must have been sick or just thinks you're not that bad,"
"You laughed.
"You have a cute laugh. It's like a baby's,"
"But also like a whale having a seizure," you commented. She snorted.
"So (Name)-ah. Tomorrow, you apparently have a meeting with another couple of stylists. They're gonna...um how do I put this...look at your body structure and probably make you start doing things to stay 'skinny,'" she said rolling her eyes. "We're also gonna be trying a lot of makeup and stuff to see what suits your face,"
You nodded.
"Also (Name)-ah. You have to make sure you take care of your skin a lot okay? Wear facemasks and breathing masks when you go outside okay?"
"Okay Unnie,"
She smiled as she pulled up at the Bangtan Dorm.
"By Unnie, thanks for driving me,"
"Mhm I'll see you tomorrow. Sleep well,"
"You too,"
Walking up to the door you thought for a minute. Should I knock or use the key? Yeah Seokjin gave you a key.
"(Name)-ah!" you heard whisper shouting. You turned around.
"Go in!" Soo Mi yelled.
"Okay okay bye," you smiled playfully and slowly opened the door. Since the lights were on, you assumed some of the boys were still awake. As you walked closer, you heard a female voice that made your stomach lurch with annoyance.
It was that annoying girl. A couple of days ago, there had been this annoying girl who was somehow a fan of BTS and also working under the same company. Her name, you had the unfortunate pleasure of learning, was Jae Eun and she was a year older than you. She had immediately gotten on your nerves, all because she was giving you the looks. Manager Seijin had casually said that you would be joining BTS as the 8th member and she didn't take it well. Why her? She's a girl! Meh meh meh meh. Like no shit u dumb bitch.
"I mean why though? Why should a girl be a part of your group? What will A.R.M.Y say?! They won't like that some random girl is coming into BTS. She probably can't do your choreos as well as you all can and her vocals are different from yours. She's taking everything that's special to you. If she was a part of a new girl's group, I wouldn't have cared. She could go dance with them!! You can't even be what you're known for! And what if your reputation goes down because of her?! She's ruining everything. Your room, your titles. Those lines in Go Go, they were yours right Jungkook-shhi?! You guys work for 10 hours everyday, can she ever work hard like that?!"
Now that was the last straw. You knew that you getting angry over some random kid was stupid and you were probably going to get dragged with similar hate once you were revealed to the public, but one thing you hated was being told you weren't hard working.
"Okay I think you should calm down and stop it," Hoseok spoke up.
"Just because she's not here doesn't mean you can speak like that," Jimin said, sounding very bothered, but irritation laced in his voice too.
"Yeah if you have so many complaints, you should tell it to my own face. There's no point in you talking about it behind me. Listen, when I was told I was hired to be an idol, I wasn't told that I'd be joining BTS. I didn't join saying 'oh I'm gonna go join BTS, a whole boys group and go take Jeon Jungkook's position as the maknae'" You said angrily walking in front of the girl. "I wanted to be an idol, do you understand?! I normally can keep my cool, but don't think I'm gonna keep my mouth shut and just say whatever you want about me!! You know nothing about me. You know nothing of the struggles that I go through!! Don't ever say that I'm not fucking hard working, because even if I don't succeed, I work as hard as I can for it!! I don't care how disrespectful this is, let me just say that you deserve everything I'm saying to you!! You might as well stop putting all these petty things before trying to adjust to your favorite band getting another member. You think it's easy for me to move in with a bunch of guys I've never met?! These guys at least know each other, support each other and love each other!! I never had any of that!! But now if they support me so why should you care?! You love being a fan so much?! Well you're totally not doing it right!! YOU'RE ACTING LIKE A STUPID CHILD!!" you yelled, anger bubbling over. This was the angriest you had been in a long time. The members sat stunned. You turned on your heel and ran to your room, slamming the door behind you.
Jae Eun looked around awkwardly before muttering.
"Stupid bitch,"
"Would you leave?!"
"Get out!!" both Yoongi and Seokjin snapped simultaneously.
"W-What did she mean by 'struggles'?" Jimin asked looking around at the other members. Yoongi kept his mouth shut.
Sitting on Jungkook's bed, you started feeling the regret. Oh shit why did I say that to her?????????? I FEEL BAD EVEN THOUGH I SHOULDN'T. You briefly heard your phone ring, but you were too angry to talk to anyone right now.
Namjoon stood in the living room when his phone started ringing.
"Hello?"
"Namjoon-shhi?? Where's (Name)?" he could hear Manager Seijin ask.
"Um, (Name)?"
The other boys looked up.
"U-Uh I don't think (Name)'s in the mood to talk,"
"Namjoon...her brother's developed Stage 3 bronchial cancer. He's currently at the hospital and apparently he was coughing up a lot of blood. They're asking her to come to the hospital so they can tell her,"
Namjoon's face paled.
"Tell her. I'm driving there right now to pick her up," Manager Seijin spoke up.
And the line went dead.
"What? What happened?" Yoongi asked.
"Her brother...Stage 3 bronchial cancer..." was all he could manage.
Yoongi felt his stomach lurch.
"M-My what?"
And there you stood, all color drained from your face.
"Kid," Yoongi said taking a step towards you and he put a hand on your shoulder. Namjoon's hand rested on your other shoulder and Jimin held your right hand gently.
And then...it was like everything was crashing. And you could barely hear anything. Yoongi watched as one single tear rolled down your red cheek and then another and he could feel the pain you felt. He could feel your depression coming back and he could remember his own. No, she can't do anything to herself.
"Kid. (Name)-shhi!! Look at me!!" he said grabbing your shoulders. "We are gonna go to the hospital. Stop crying. It's gonna be fine. Look at me. It's okay. Trust me, I'm here," he said, staring into your eyes, and then the amount of calmness that washed over you was incredible. This wasn't a cheesy drama or romance novel, you didn't fall in love with him by looking into his eyes and felt like your life was rainbows and unicorns. You just felt one thing.
Safe.
