I was about to enter my waiting room, but I looked at the waiting room I knew Shouto was sitting in. 'I need to talk to him.'
I put my hand onto the handle and took a deep breath. 'Here I go.' I opened the door. Shouto had a calm look on his face, but he seemed distracted.
"Hey, Shouto." He turned to look at me. His calm face became colder. "What do you want, Bakugou?"
I took another deep breath. "I came to wish you luck," I said. He tsked. "And, to come at me with everything you got." He avoided my eyes. I sighed. 'Why are you being so cold'
I turned my head away from him. "I'll see you in the arena, Shouto." I walked out of the room, closing the door behind me. 'I'll prove I'm a worthy opponent.'
Short time skip
"Welcome back, folks! It's time for the finals!" I began to walk to the middle of the arena, obviously barefoot. "Both are CRAZY powerful! From the hero we've all grown to love this adorable girl, it's (Y/N) Bakugou!"
I nervously smiled and waved to the audience. Generally, I didn't like being called adorable, but I let it slide that once. The audience roared. "Versus, the boy of ice, but he brings the fire! It's Shouto Todoroki!" The roar of the crowd grew larger as we both made our way to the middle.
He and I stood parallel to each other, glaring into each other's eyes. His face was calm, but somewhat angry. I sent him a smirk.
'He always begins his battles by sending a trail of ice to them, I need to make the first move. Pillars, I'll lift him up by the wrists with pillars.' The audience was excited, I could feel it.
"Alright, BEGIN!" My smirk was still prominent on my face. "Pillars, capture his wrists." Eight pillars, four holding each hand, shot up from the ground before he could make his first move.
The pillars held him up in the air by his wrists. He seemed shocked, he'd always gotten the first move. He struggled a bit, he couldn't move his hands much.
He swung his feet until he was able to flip over the pillars, releasing his wrists. He clenched his teeth. "You're unpredictable, Bakugou. I didn't expect you'd that. I never can expect your next move, but you seemed to have been able to expect mine."
He smirked. "I bet you didn't expect this." Ice came darting from his foot. Before I could make a counter attack, he captured me in a large mountain of ice. I could hardly move, but I could still talk.
"Damn you, Shouto." I clenched my teeth. "Ice, melt," I said with my teeth chattering. The ice melted, leaving puddles of water around the arena. There were also puddles of water in the stadiums.
I smirked. "DID YOU SEE THAT?! SHE JUST MELTED HIS ICE! UNBELIEVABLE!" Present Mic yelled over the speakers. Shouto clenched his teeth.
"You see, Shouto." I stuck out my hand. "Air, follow my hands," I whispered. "Your declaration of war was to the wrong person!"
Since I used both of my hands, I could control more air and my attacks would be more powerful. I jerked my hands toward Shouto causing him to fly backwards. He stopped himself with his ice.
"You really are strong, Bakugou." It pained you to hear him call you by your last name. I felt my smirk leave my face."But I'm stronger." He sent a thick trail of ice towards you.
'The ice isn't connected to a brain, obviously. I can control his ice. It'll really shake him up.' I stuck my hand out in front of me. I looked down as I waited for the ice to grace my fingers.
"Stop," I whispered as it made contact with my hand. Just as I directed, the ice stopped. 'His ice is now under my control.' I looked up at him, his eyes were wide. He was no longer calm.
"DID BAKUGOU JUST STOP TODOROKI'S ICE?!" Present Mic yelled. A cocky and dangerous smirk appeared on my face. "Are you now?" I giggled, it was somewhat of a creepy giggle. "Don't underestimate me."
"Ice, capture him. Create like a mountain shaped 'prison,'" I whispered. The ice flew away from me and wrapped around Shouto, creating a mountain of ice.
"BAKUGOU HAS TODOROKI IN SOME KIND OF ICE PRISON!" Present Mic yelled, obviously getting hyped.
'He can't control the ice that I'm controlling. He's gonna to need his fire.' I clenched my teeth. "C'mon, Shouto! Use your fire on me!" I yelled.
An orange light came from the ice "prison", I couldn't help smiling. The ice melted away, leaving the ground more moist than before. I grinned. 'Now, he knows I'm a worthy opponent.'
He was furious. He growled. "I won't lose to the likes of you." I found myself getting angry at his suddenly hatred for me. "Shouto, what is up with your sudden hatred for me? I get wanting to do your best in this fight, but you actually genuinely hate me. You were perfectly fine just yesterday!" I yelled over the smoke from sudden fire.
"Don't you get it, (Y/N)? I don't hate you." I furrowed my brows and coughed due to the smoke. "Smoke, clear." The smoke cleared, making me able to see once again.
Shouto's left side was on fire. He was mad, and his face showed it. 'What could he possibly mean?' He clenched his fists, he obviously didn't want to talk much.
"It's time to get this over with," he said. 'Over with?' The fire on his left side began to flare up and ice began to grow from his left foot. 'CRAP THINK QUICK! Uhm...' I wasn't able to think straight.
My heart was pounding. I couldn't think, I didn't know what to do. "DAMN IT, (Y/N)! NO MERCY! DON'T MAKE ME LOOK WEAK!" someone yelled from the crowd.
'Katsuki. I need to win this. I can't counter both attacks, it's too risky. It'll be easier to teleport past them. I need to take this risk.' I sighed. 'I'll have to go...'
His fire and ice began to catch up to me. They were huge attacks, and very dangerous. I could feel the heat and the cold approach my face. 'NOW!'
"Teleport," I whispered, staring at Shouto. 'I need to be prepared when my body forms again, I'll try to kick him, I was staring at his face, so I'll just have to act fast.'
My body formed itself, on Shouto. I kicked him in the head and landed back on my feet. "Well, Shouto, I won't lose to you!"
He punched my in the shoulder, freezing me with his right hand. "Melt," I whispered, hardly moving me lips.
His eyes widened as I grabbed his forearm. I flipped him over my shoulder, causing him to land on his back. He clenched his teeth. 'Yikes, that looked like it hurt...'
I quickly used my right hand to touch my left arm and my left hand to touch my right arm. "Strengthen," I whispered quickly. I grabbed his feet.
"I'm not losing to you either, Shouto!" I swung him around until I could send him flying. "Wind, help me make him fly out of bounds," I whispered.
Shouto was shaking, he was weak. He had used up his energy, he needs to train more with his left side. I let go while spinning him, causing him to fly towards out of bounds.
A huge gust of wind blew towards out of bounds, I could hardly stand. I was struggling to stand from the wind, until it stopped. 'Does that mean...?'
"Todoroki is out of bounds. That means...Bakugou is the winner!" I fell onto my knees, the pain from using my quirk so intensely kicked in. It didn't help that I used my quirk on myself and sent a large attack. I wasn't able to do that before, now I can, but it takes a lot of energy.
The audience was roaring. "And with that, the final match is officially over! The first-year champion of the UA Sports Festival is...(Y/N) Bakugou from class 1-A!"
Time skip
"The first-year students have completed all of the events for the UA Sports Festival. Now, it's time to relax and enjoy the awards ceremony." The crowd cheered and fireworks shot into the air.
Three large fireworks were shot into the air, and it was followed by three podiums rising from under the ground.
I stood on the large one in the middle of the three. It had a large "1" written on it. To my right was Shouto, on a podium only a bit shorter than mine, it had a large "2" written on it. To my left was Katsuki and Momo. Katsuki seemed completely disappointed. Not in me, but in himself. Momo wasn't looking so happy herself.
"Now, let's break out the hardware! Of course, there is only one person worthy of distributing the awards..." A large, mighty laugh booted throughout the stadium. 'All Might, I should've saw that one coming.'
"Citizens— I am here with the medals!" All Might. "ALL MIGHT! The number one hero!" Midnight yelled. The crowd was silent. "Ruined that, didn't I?" Midnight quietly asked causing All Might to tsk.
"So, now that you're hear All Might, why don't you start the presentation?" The crowd roared in response. All Might approached Momo and Katsuki was medals in his hands.
The medals were beautiful. The ribbon that you used to wear them, was red with a white stripe going down the the rest of the ribbon. The ones given to Momo and Katsuki had a small bronze medallion. All Might held it out to Momo and Katsuki.
"Young Yoayorozu, Young Bakugou, congratulations. You both showed great strength out there. However, you have more training to do if you're going to be able fight against different kinds of villains. You're not going to be able to rely on your quirk in every battle you face." They both nodded their heads while All Might gave them both a hug. "Yes sir," Momo and Katsuki said, but Katsuki sounded uninterested.
All Might held out a medal to Shouto, it had a larger silver medallion. "Young Todoroki, congratulations! You were very strong, your talent is truly remarkable. I'm glad you learned it's okay to use your left side."
Todoroki shook his head. "I want to be the kind of hero you are, but my path isn't as clear as I thought it was. I have a lot to think about and I still need to settle things with someone, very soon." He looked at me and gave a soft, hardly visible, smile. I smiled softly back at him.
"Hm, I've never seen this sort of look on your face before..." All Might gave him a hug. "I won't ask for details, but trust yourself. I'm sure you'll work things out." All Might gave him a pat on the back.
"And now, another Young Bakugou!" he chuckled a bit. I felt really nervous. "In a world where we are very focused on competing with one another, there are very few who can keep their eyes focused on the top spot. You're one of them. That quirk of yours, is so unique and amazing. Your thinking skills and hand to hand combat is incredible." He handed me the medal with a larger golden medallion.
I felt my heart sink a bit. 'Do I really deserve this?' He rested the medal around my neck. "You deserve this. Don't think of it as luck, you worked very hard. You'll go to do amazing things one day." He gave me a hug. 'He said what I needed to hear.'
"Thank you, All Might."
Short time skip
"So, I have one more thing to say. I want to hear everyone yell it with me! You know what it is! Thanks for your hard work—"
The audience, and myself, yelled,"Plus Ultra!"
