Light seeps into my skin, my eyes absorbing the sun from the blinds.
I glance around, trying to remember what happened.
I manage to sit up half way before a groan escapes my lips and i fall back against the bed.
"F*ck, this hurts like hell." I examine my chest, seeing the makeshift wrap around me which was already painted in red. Within my pained groans I could hear a soft breathing from beside me.
Y/n laid in the bed beside me, her body curled up huddled against a pillow. She wore a new shirt then I remember her in, her body was cleaned up, unlike her old grey hoodie which I probably ruined.
Where are we?
I glance beside me seeing a note next to a pill bottle and some water.
Mingyu, I went to the store last night with the last of our money, I bought you a new shirt and some medicine along with some food, the clothes are on the dresser. Take this medicine when you wake up. Also, I had to get rid of your phone, I was worried that they would track us before we had a chance. I bought a burner phone though, just find it in one of the bags. -Y/n
I manage to sit up, reaching for the bottle of pills, pouring some in my mouth and swallowing with water.
With the energy and strength I have, I manage to sit up fully, my hands holding me up from my sides.
"Oh my god, oh my god, mingyu!?"
"It's going to be okay, just wait here, I'll get us a room. Just stay awake okay?"
"Mingyu, please. Stay with me just a little longer, please!"
Her voice rings in my head as the memories flood my mind. I look down at my wrap and the stitches she gave me.
"Okay, just- just hold on a little longer. Rose taught me some of this on the island before.."
"Okay, okay just- just stay still and grab something"
"Not bad."
I manage to stand, my arms holding onto the bed, being my braces. I push myself towards the dresser, which had bags of groceries and my bag.
I scan through each bag.
Found it.
I rip open the package, pulling out the flimsy, cheaply made, flip phone.
I turn it on, causing a screeching tone coming from the poorly made speaker.
When it finally starts, I punch in a number, walking into the bathroom and closing the door while the number is being dialed.
"Hello, this is detective Kong Min Ho, How May I assist you?"
"Minho-"
"Mingyu? Where the hell have you been? It's chaos around here- everyone's looking for you!" I can't help but to let a dry chuckle escape my lips as I lean against the bathroom wall, looking at my weak self in the mirror.
"I'm sorry, I've just been busy protecting my client. And that resulted in me being shot. So please act a little sympathetic."
"Dude, are you serious?"
"I was practically on my death bed of it wasn't for her, and she's the exact reason why I'm calling you now."
"Let me guess, you need me to smooth this out with the chief?"
"And, I need you to start and investigation into a person named JaeHwa."
"Of course, double duty. Why am I not suprised."
"Just, do this, please. The life of my client relies on it. Were at a motel north of busan, you can't miss it if you go down the main road."
"Yeah yeah, on it. Take care of yourself okay? I'll come find you when I find out something or when you're in the clear. Just try not to be seen until then, I don't need to be your lawyer for the car chase that almost killed half of the pedestrians."
"Hey, she didn't hit anyone though."
"Yeah, hah. That's so much better."
"I'm hanging up now."
"Mhm, thank me later."

I take a deep breath, my fingers shook as my eyes closed tightly.
It will be fine, we will be okay. I'll figure this out.

Your rest was disturbed by a bright light, the sun shined against your skin.
Your eyes fluttered open, irritated. Your fingers run across them, wiping away the blur.
You immediately sit up when you don't see a certain figure in the other bed. Your eyes scan the bathroom door, seeing light coming from the other side.
"Mingyu?" You stand up beside the bed, you notice the pills you left and the water gone and empty.
The sound of a lock making a click sound and the bathroom door opening steals your attention.
"There you are!"
"Oh, you're awake." He retorts.
He was wearing one of the shirts you bought, you could tell where he used some of the bandages that you had bought from the convenience store under his shirt. He looked cleaner, he probably managed to take a quick shower.
"You're better." Noticing that he was able to stand on his own, his body still weak but better than a corpse.
"Because Of those pills, thanks for that by the way. You weren't spotted where you?" You shook your head, sitting back down on the bed.
He sighs of relief, then began sorting through a bag.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm starving, aren't you?"
"But shouldn't we figure out what to do first?" He ignores your words, placing a ramen cup in the microwave filled with water. Then punched in the numbers.
"I already called one of my friends from the station, he 'll take care of it."
"Oh, okay." Once the ramen was finished he handed you a cup before making one for himself.
"Thanks." You mumble, slurping up the noodles.
"You didn't eat did you?"
"Never got the chance. Too busy saving you to eat, the smell of your blood isn't really something I like to smell while eating. It's actually kind of off putting." He rolled his eyes playfully.
"I'm surprised you handled it so well really." You raise your eyebrow at the boy who sat on the other bed, playing with his chopsticks in his ramen.
"I'm from a murder island, and you think that was a big deal? I've seen more than that, I've done more than tha-" you stop yourself before you speak anymore, mingyu noticed that. He Leaned towards you, suddenly worried.
"Y/n?"
"What?"
"Are you okay?"
"Hm- oh, I'm fine I just- " you sigh, giving up on your sentence, only focusing on your noodles.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"What?" You snap, shocked at his proposition.
"I mean, just seeing the way you act now seems to be because you've never, talked about your experience."
"What are you taking about? Have you forgotten all the interviews I went through?"
"Those, don't count. I know for a fact you skipped over tons of what happened. If only took a few other interviews by other survivors to realize how much you weren't telling." He slurps up another batch of noodles, while your eyes stilled onto his.
"And why would I want to talk about it? I've been trying to forget it-"
"Ahh, there it is."
"What?"
"That's the problem, you're trying to forget your problems but you haven't even addressed it first." You scoff and roll your eyes
"Since when did I ask you to be my counselor?"
"I'm not talking to you like this as a counselor y/n. I'm being a participant that is willing to listen to your problems. A friend if you like."
"Why don't you just stick to being my bodyguard." You snap harshly, finishing your cup of ramen and standing up, throwing the remains away.
When you were about to walk past him to the bathroom, he grips your wrist harshly, standing up himself.
"What are you doing?" You growl when he places his cup on the dresser, then he looked at you with a serious look. He let a tap of his tongue against the roof of his mouth echo though the room.
"I know a lot about you, yet you try to keep everything a secret? What's so difficult about accepting what had to be done?"
"Because! It didn't have to be done!"
"It was you or him-"
"No! If I didn't. If I had known it would cause everything right now I would have happily accepted my fate!" Mingyu grows irritated with your words, his grip hardens on yours out of disappointment, anger, frustration.
"Don't talk like that-"
"It's true! If I would have let him kill me then the immortal wings would be trying to kill me, shoot you while trying, Taehyung wouldn't have to doubt me, my parents wouldn't have been attacked-"
"That was your brothers fault-"
"Which I was the d*mn gambling card, I was the reason she wanted to play such a game and hurt everyone I love!"
"And none of that was your fault, she was messed up, you couldn't have predicted that she would have taken you."
"And all that lead up to it? I betrayed my group, I killed him, then I met up with my old friends, was almost forced into something I begged not to-" you choke on your sobs, your Vision was blurry, gravity played tricks on you.
"I'm a mess up, Taehyung doesn't deserve me betraying him."
"Have you forgotten what good you've done?!" He snaps, still holding your wrist tightly, despite the effort you put to pull away.
"Oh, does that really matter?! After everything I've done the sprinkle of good I've done is simply forgotten.!" He scoffs, running his free hand through his damp hair.
"Have you thought over the fact I took this job, even after reading what all happened, after all of my research, I still accepted it because I knew, I KNEW you had a good heart."
"No, I have a naive heart." You mumble, loosing what energy had, crouching down to the floor, mingyu following, cupping your cheeks.
"And that doesn't make you bad, you want to trust people in this world filled with evil, you just met the wrong people and was put in a horrible situation where you had to whatever you had to to survive." You were silent, your eyes were closed as mingyu wipes your tears with his thumbs.
"I didn't want to, I never wanted to do that to him." You begin to sob, your breaths become ragged. He could see your body act wild as you were panicking. He didn't know what to do besides pull you to him, trying to comfort you.
"I know, I know.." he whispers as he rocks you. You cling to him, imagining that one moment you could take back.

You normally felt depressed during these attacks, but this time, along with the more recent ones.
You felt angry.
