After Team JNPR's and Team SSSN's fight, (Y/N) decides to go up to Ozpin's office and ask for some details about his opponent. As the elevator opens up, he gets inside the office and no one is to be seen. (Y/N) walks to Ozpin's desk and sighs as he turns around to the Apple, that is displayed on the table between the elevators.
(Y/N): (slowly approaching) So..... Just you and me again..... (stops in the middle of the room) I wonder what "crazy visions" you have in store for me to see.
Summer: It can probably tell you its past.
Summer is seen to be beside (Y/N).
(Y/N): (frightened) OH MY GOD!
Summer: *giggles* Sorry. Did I scare you?
(Y/N): (sarcastic) BARELY!
Summer giggles in response as (Y/N) calms down. The two focuses back on the Apple.
(Y/N): What do you mean its past?
Summer: It's just a hunch. Who knows? I mean it did give you some of its energy....
(Y/N): I guess... (sighs as they both walk over to the Apple) Let's do this then...
Summer: How do you do this then?
(Y/N): When I touch it; it seems to have a reaction to it.
Summer: You think it'll work again?
(Y/N): Only one way to find out...
As (Y/N) touches the Apple, both the Apple and his eyes starts to glow again...
Summer: (Y/N)!
Summer, worryingly grabs (Y/N)'s hand, making her eyes glow as well....

(Y/N) lets go of the Apple as Summer is still holding onto (Y/N).
(Y/N): ..... What the fuck?
(Y/N) feels Summer's grip beginning to tighten and shaking as she is frighteningly staring at the Apple.
(Y/N): Mrs. Rose?
Summer: (trembling) It..... kills people....
(Y/N): I don't think it's just people....
Summer: What?
(Y/N): Every living thing....
Summer: And it chose you....
Summer stares at (Y/N).
Summer: (Y/N)....
(Y/N): (turns to Summer) Huh?
Summer: ....What are-
Summer gets cut off from the elevator's signal as (Y/N) and Summer turns their focus on the elevator for a bit. (Y/N) turns back to Summer, who has now vanished, then back to the elevator, revealing Ironwood, Glynda, Ozpin and Penny.
Penny is happily gasps in surprise to see (Y/N) as she tackles him down for a hug.
Penny: Bestie!
(Y/N): GUAHAH!
Glynda: I see; you two have hitten it off.
(Y/N): (choking) You have no idea....
Ironwood: May I ask; How?
Penny: (Y/N) and I ki-mmmmph (mouth covered by Y/N)
(Y/N): -indly hung out with each other. (laughs nervously)
Glynda: Oooookaaay....
(Y/N) and Penny stands back. (Y/N) dusts himself off as Penny surprises him by wrapping her arms around his as she giggles.
Ironwood: .....What is going-
(Y/N): UHHHH, Uncle Ozpin! I came here just to ask; what kind of student am I fighting?
Ozpin: Well, he's not particularly a student...
(Y/N): Not here?
Ozpin: No... He's not a student.
(Y/N): He's a Huntsman?
Glynda: You could say that...
Ironwood: Though he is much more of a..... "Spiritual Hunter?"
Glynda: I guess...
(Y/N): Huh?
Ozpin: He refers to himself as the "Demon Hunter."
(Y/N): Like; Grimms?
Ironwood: He's a very odd man....
Glynda: He's like Qrow, but more intimidating...
*BOOM*
Ironwood: What?!
They all look outside the window and sees....
Ironwood: Schnee....
Glynda: And Qrow?
(Y/N): ...
(Y/N) groans as he holds his head in pain, as an image pops into (Y/N)'s head as it quickly fades away.
(Image inside Y/N's head)
(Y/N): *groans* What the hell....?
Penny: Are you OK?
(Y/N): Yeah... I'm fine...
Penny: Do you wanna kiss?
(Y/N): Huh?
Glynda: (turns to Penny) Huh?
Ironwood: (glares at Y/N) What?
Ozpin just smiles in response, still watching the fight.
Penny: I heard it makes boys feel better...
(Y/N): U-Uhh...
Glynda: OK... What is going on between you tw-
Ozpin: I think I see your opponent, (Y/N)...
(Y/N): Huh?
(Y/N) looks outside the window again to see...
Who is watching the fight.
(Y/N): *smiles* You're kidding me...

Meanwhile, Winter stabs the ground with one of her swords, summoning a glyph that creates a flock of small white Nevermores, which begin flying towards him. Qrow swings his sword at the flock, causing a few to burst into small clouds of steam. He then sends an Aura arc at Winter, causing her to jump back and putting an end to the birds.
Winter angrily summons a second glyph behind her, and the blade of Qrow's sword begins to transform in a sequence initiated by its clockwork gears. But suddenly, his gaze travels elsewhere, and he suddenly sheathes his sword, instead beckoning his bewildered rival to come at him with his right index finger.
The glyph fades away, and there's a bright flash of light, followed by Winter speeding forward with light trailing behind her.
Just as the tip of Winter's blade closes in on Qrow's throat, the voice of James Ironwood is loudly heard in the courtyard. At the sound of his voice, Winter immediately stops the battle and addresses the General.
Ironwood: SCHNEE!
Winter looks behind her to see General Ironwood standing behind her, with Penny and (Y/N) behind him.
Winter: (lowers her blades as she addresses Ironwood at about face) General Ironwood, sir!
Ironwood: (approaches Winter with Penny by his side) What in the world do you think you're doing?
Winter: He started the altercation, sir!
Qrow: (puts his hands behind his head in a relaxed stance) That's actually not true. She attacked first.
Ironwood: Is that right? (Winter searches for words, only to realize Qrow is right. She looks down in shame) And you. (Qrow points to himself in mock confusion) What are you doing here?
Qrow: I could be asking you the same thing.
Ironwood: I-
Ozpin: Now, now, everyone. (intervening beside Glynda Goodwitch) There is a sanctioned fight happening just around the corner at the Colosseum, that I can assure you has better seats... and popcorn. (swirls his coffee)
Goodwitch: Break it up, everyone! We will take care of this mess. (glares at the three)
Ironwood: Let's g-.
Before Ironwood could finish, the man in the giant red coat dashes himself to (Y/N) and stabs his sword to him, only making (Y/N) catch his sword, resulting a shock wave, as The man and (Y/N) smiles at each other.
(Y/N): How goes it, Dante?
Dante laughs in response as he sheathes his sword.
Dante:
Dante: Looks like I've taught ya too well.
Ozpin: I see you already know each other.
Dante: Yup! (puts arms around Y/N) (Y/N) and I go way back!
Meanwhile, Winter stood still with a shocked expression upon seeing (Y/N).
Winter: (reaches her hand to Y/N) You're here...
Weiss quickly puts her sister's arm down. Winter turns to Weiss, as Weiss shakes her head in disapproval.
Ozpin: Well, we can discuss more back in my office.
Dante: We'll catch up!
As Ironwood and Winter leave, Penny notices Ruby and quietly waves to her, while Ruby waves back. Ruby then leaps giddily onto Qrow's arm, shaking her legs in delight.
Ruby: Uncle Qrow!!! (as she hangs on Qrow's outstretched arm) Hi. It's so good to see you! Did you miss me? Did you miss me!?
Qrow: Nope.
They share a grin as he pats his niece's head as Ruby slides down.)
Dante and (Y/N) walks over to Ruby and Qrow.
Dante: I didn't know you learn here!
(Y/N): I didn't know you were coming by!
Qrow: Dante, you know this kid?
Dante: Yup! Qrow, meet (Y/N)! (Y/N), Qrow.
Ruby stands backup.
Ruby: He's my uncle!
(Y/N): *chuckles* I can see the resemblance...
Qrow: You look familiar...
Qrow slowly approaches (Y/N).
Qrow: What's your last name?
(Y/N): Umm... (L/N).
Qrow: Azazel...
(Y/N): I see you know my dad, too.
Qrow: Hmm...
Ozpin: Qrow! A word, please. (Goodwitch then repairs the courtyard using her telekinesis)
Qrow: I think I'm in trouble.
Ruby: You did kinda tear up our courtyard.
Qrow: Yeah, I did. (winks and gives her a fist bump) Catch ya later, kid. (to Y/N) And you.
(Y/N): Huh?
Qrow: We gotta talk later...
He walks off to join the others.
(Y/N): Well that was something...
Dante: Don't take it to personally, he's always like that...
Ruby: Tell me about it...
Dante: (to Ruby) So! You must be Ruby Rose!
Ruby: One and only!
Dante: One of Qrow's niece.
Weiss: (walking up beside Ruby, arms crossed) And suddenly, your recklessness makes sense.
Ruby: (nudges Weiss' shoulder) You're just mad because he whooped butt.
Weiss: That was a draw, at best! So, who's he?
(Y/N): Oh! Girls, meet Dante Sparda, my mentor. Dante, this is-
Dante: Weiss Schnee. (gently grabs Weiss hand and kisses it) Good afternoon my heiress...
Weiss: Hmph. Charmed.
Dante: (leans close to Y/N) She's a keeper....

The scene shifts to Ozpin's office late at night. Ironwood is waiting with his arms crossed while Winter is impatiently pacing about. Suddenly, a smirking Qrow, accompanied by Goodwitch and Ozpin, arrive in the elevator.
Winter: What were you thinking!?
Ironwood: If you were one of my men, I would have you shot!
Qrow: (pulls out flask at the three enter the room) If I was one of your men, I'd shoot myself.
Goodwitch: While I wouldn't condone his behavior, retaliating like you did certainly didn't help the situation.
Winter: He was drunk!
Goodwitch: He's always drunk!
The four turn to Qrow to see him drinking from a flask. His eyes widen when he notices them staring, and he holds the flask out to the side, looking at it awkwardly before grimacing.
Ozpin: (staring at Qrow in shock, then sighs and sits down) Qrow, why are you here?
Ironwood: You've been out of contact for weeks! You can't just go dark like that in the field!
Qrow: I'm not one of your special operatives, Jimmy!
Winter: General.
Qrow: Whatever. You sent me to get intel on our enemy, and I'm telling you, our enemy is here.
Ironwood: (leans against Ozpin's desk) We know.
Qrow: Oh! Oh, you know! Well, thank goodness I'm out there risking my life to keep you all informed!
Ironwood: Qrow-
Qrow: Communication's a two-way street, pal. You see this? (pulls out his Scroll and points to it) That's the SEND button.
Winter: They had reason to assume you'd been compromised.
Qrow: And I have reason to assume you don't need to be here. (points to Winter) Seriously, who invited her?
Ironwood: (after a moment of silence, without looking at her) Schnee, we'll discuss this incident back at my ship.
Winter: (looks surprised) But sir!
Ironwood: Winter. Leave.
Winter: (salutes Ironwood) Yes sir. (turns on her heel and gives the winking Qrow a dirty look as she exits via the elevator)
Ironwood: (gestures to Qrow) Go on.
Qrow: Your little infiltrator isn't just another pawn. They're the one responsible for Autumn's condition. (takes a drink from his flask once more)
Goodwitch: What?
Qrow: Despite what the world thinks, we're not just teachers, or generals, or headmasters. The people in this room, the leaders of the other two academies, we're the ones that keep the world safe from the evils no one even knows about! (getting up in Ironwood's face) It's why we meet behind closed doors, why we work in the shadows. So you tell me, James, when you brought your army to Vale, did you think you were being discreet, or did you just not give a damn!?
Ironwood: (stares down at Qrow as he places his Scroll on Ozpin's desk) Discreet wasn't working.
The center of the room projects a hologram of Vale, Beacon Academy, the Amity Colosseum and Ironwood's fleet of Atlesian Airships, which he gestures to.
Ironwood: I'm here because this is what was necessary.
Qrow: You're here because Ozpin wanted you here! He made you a part of this inner circle and opened your eyes to the real fight that's in front of us!
Ironwood: And I am grateful.
Qrow: Oh, well, you've got a real funny way of showing it.
Ironwood: The people of Vale needed someone to protect them; someone who would act. When they look to the sky and see my fleet, they feel safe, and our enemies will feel our strength.
Qrow: (starts laughing) You... You think they're scared of your little ships? I've been out there and I've seen the things she's made, and let me tell you - they are fear.
Ozpin: (standing up) And fear will bring the Grimm. A guardian is a symbol of comfort. But an army is a symbol of conflict. There's an energy in the air now, a question in the back of everyone's minds... (gestures to the display) "If this is the size of our defenses, then what is it we're expecting to fight?"
Ironwood: (glares at them before sighing and walking forward, picking up his Scroll just as it flashes with the image of a Black Queen) So then, what would you suggest we do?
Ozpin: I suggest we find our guardian.
Qrow: So this (Y/N), kid...
Ozpin: He got here by the portal that was made for his father.
Qrow: When is he coming back?
Glynda: ... He's dead, Qrow...
Qrow: ..... Oh..... (drinks entire flask) I see.... So what is that kid? A replacement?
Ironwood: Bluntly enough, he is.
Qrow: A kid?!
Ozpin: Believe it or not Qrow; (Y/N) has more potential than you'd think...
Qrow: Really?
Ozpin: What made you think Mr. Sparda came to Beacon in the time of the Vytal Festival?
Qrow thinks for a moment.
Qrow: You're kidding!
Glynda: Dante Sparda is his opponent for today's festival.
Qrow: No way! Dante is way more powerful!
Ironwood: Perhaps we will find out soon...

Cut to a dorm room, where Mercury is sitting in a chair, reporting on the fight he saw earlier, while Cinder Fall walks back and forth, interrogating him with Emerald and Jeff resting on a bed nearby.
Cinder: And you're sure?
Mercury: Bad hair, used a scythe, and smelled like my dad after a long day. It was him.
Emerald: What do we do?
Cinder: Nothing. We stay the course. They have no idea who we are, so we have no reason to worry. Besides, the last of the heavy lifting is being taken care of thanks to our clever little friend. (picks up her Scroll as it too flashes with the Black Queen) Speaking of which... it appears we have a new access point. (Ironwood is shown on the Scroll as an icon, along with a curling "W" in the other corner)
Jeff: Anywhere good?
Cinder: You could say that. Go to your rooms. I'll prepare everything for tomorrow.
Emerald: Yes, ma'am.
Mercury: Got it.
The Scroll reveals the roster of the Vytal Festival Tournament doubles round, which includes CRDL's Russel Thrush and Sky Lark, SSSN's Sun Wukong and Neptune Vasilias, and Penny Polendina and Ciel Soleil.
Cinder: Let's give the crowd a good fight.
Cinder scrolls down each pair until she selects Mercury and Emerald to face off against Coco Adel and Yatsuhashi Daichi in the doubles round.

The next morning, the crowd sees the rigged match-up on the screen at the Amity Colosseum.
Port: (over the announcement system) The randomization process is complete! Ladies and gentlemen, your doubles tournament fight!
As the announcement is heard, RWBY cheers with arms raised, JNPR is seen providing applause, and SSSN is shown sitting in front row seats. Bolin Hori and Nolan Porfirio are seen talking to each other behind RWBY, and Dove Bronzewing is sitting behind JNPR.
Cinder, now watching her teammates in the seats as she menacingly claps with a devious smirk, with Jeff beside him, who is looking at (Y/N)'s profile.
Jeff: This (Y/N) seems to be a rather interesting fellow.
Cinder: He is.
Jeff: I can see why you fell for him.
Cinder: *giggles* And I am proved guilty.
Jeff: So, when are we doin' this?
Cinder: Just be patient, Woods, the time will come.
Jeff: Yes... (pulls out his knife)
