(3RD POV)
The opening ends to Weiss Schnee, now back in her regular attire, readying her Myrtenaster at the growling creature in the cage barely seen at the end of the last episode. Her teammates cheer her on from their seats in the front row.
Yang Xiao Long: (raising her fist) Goooo, Weiss!
Blake Belladonna: (waving a small flag saying "RWBY") Fight well!
Ruby Rose : Yeah, represent teeeeam RWBY!
Weiss Schnee : (lowering her sword and looking over at her "leader") Ruby! I'm trying to focus!
Ruby: (looking sheepish) Oh, um... Sorry...
Port: Allllright!" (next to the cage, pulling out his axe) "Let the match... begin!
The professor swings down and breaks the lock, dropping the cage door and revealing the Boarbatusk inside, which immediately charges at Weiss. She uses Myrtenaster to deflect its attack and roll to the side, readying herself for its next move. The Grimm stands a distance away from its enemy, studying her.
Port: Ha-ha! Wasn't expecting that, were you?
Ruby: Hang in there, Weiss!
Weiss is now speeding towards the oncoming Boarbatusk, sticking her blade straight at its skull until they meet and Myrtenaster is trapped in the beast's tusks. Weiss is still hanging on to the hilt, and is tossed around as she struggles to get the rapier back.
Port: Bold, new approach. I like it!
Ruby: Come on, Weiss, show it who's boss!
Weiss turns to glare at Ruby, only for the Boarbatusk to turn its head and rip the sword from her grip. Myrtenaster lands far away from its master, who is knocked back by the creature's tusks.
Port: Oh-ho! Now what will you do without your weapon?
Weiss looks up just in time to see the Boarbatusk to charge again, rolling out of the way just in time to avoid getting trampled and make it crash into a desk. Weiss rushes at her sword and slides to get it back in her hand.
Ruby: Weiss! Go for its belly! There's no armor underneath-
Weiss: (turning to Ruby) Stop telling me what to do!
(Y/N) notices Ruby get hurt at Weiss' rebuttal.
(Y/N): .....
Meanwhile, the Boarbatusk leaps into the air and rolls into a ball, spinning rapidly in the air and landing on the ground, consistently gaining speed until it launches itself at Weiss. It comes closer and closer, but Weiss activates one of her blue-white circles and blocks the roll, leaping up into the now-black snowflake symbol and turning it blue again so she can drive the blade into the Boarbatusk's stomach. It squeals and falls silent while Weiss gasps in relief.
Port: "Bravo! Bra-vo! It appears we are indeed in the presence of a true Huntress-in-training!" (as Weiss stands up at attention from her exhausted position and Ruby continues to frown) "I'm afraid that's all the time we have for today. Be sure to cover the assigned readings, and... stay vigilant! Class dismissed!"
Weiss glares and turns away, walking hurriedly to the exit past her teammates.
Jaune: (watching her leave) Sheesh, what's with her?
The remaining members of team RWBY look at each other with the same question, while (Y/N) is looking at Weiss, walking off, with a bothered look.
Weiss is still storming off, but Ruby turns a corner and manages to catch up with her.
Ruby: Weiss!
Weiss: (turning around) What?
Ruby: What's wrong with you? Why are you being-?
Weiss: What's wrong with me? What's wrong with you? You're supposed to be a leader, and all you've been so far is a nuisance!
Ruby: (scoffs) What did I do?
Weiss: That's just it - you've done nothing to earn your position! Back in the forest, you acted like a child, and you've only continued to do so!
Ruby: Weiss, where is this coming from? What happened to all the talk about 'working together'? I thought you believed in acting as a team.
Weiss: Not a team led by you. I've studied and trained. And quite frankly, I deserve better." (turns her back to Ruby, trying to reach out but dropping her hand with the following words) "Ozpin made a mistake.
Weiss walks away as Ruby looks dejected.
(Y/N) and Ozpin, is standing right behind a surprised Ruby.
Ozpin: Hmm... Now that didn't seem to go very well.
Ruby looking doubtful, even on the verge of tears.
Ruby: Is she right? Did you make a mistake?
(Y/N) then looks at Weiss, walking around the halls.
(Y/N): I'll go talk to her.
(Y/N) said as he walks off beside Ruby as he patted her shoulder.
Weiss is still walking around the halls until she comes across a balcony where she heard (Y/N), calling her.
(Y/N): Hey, Weiss...
Weiss: (turning to look at him) (Y/N)!
(Y/N): How're you doing?
Weiss: You.....probably, already know....
(Y/N): So I see.... You did great back there!
Weiss: (smiling) You really think so?
(Y/N): Of course, you were awesome!
(Y/N) notices Weiss' small frown and lack of eye contact.
(Y/N): Is something....troubling you Weiss?
Weiss: Yeah...
(Y/N): Well then, go on (sits on a bench and gestures Weiss to sit beside him) tell Uncle (Y/N) all about it!
Weiss smilingly rolls her eyes then sits beside (Y/N).
Weiss: Well... I-I think I should have been the leader of team RWBY!
(Y/N): (silent for a moment until he speaks) Bullshit!
*Cuts to Ruby and Ozpin*
Ruby: What do you mean?
Ozpin: I mean, it's only been one day. Ruby... I've made more mistakes than any man, woman, and child on this planet. But at this moment, I would not consider your appointment to leader to be one of them. (leans in so he can look more directly at Ruby) Do you?
*Cuts to (Y/N) and Weiss*
Weiss: (now getting angry) Excuse me?!
(Y/N): Sorry, pardon my language. Weiss, I've believed in Uncle Oz for many years, and the guy seems to know what he's doing!
Weiss: So you would just blindly accept his decision even after seeing how exceptional I am?
(Y/N): We can all agree the fact that you're strong in a fight, Weiss, but what's keeping you weak is your attitude.
Weiss: (seething now) How dare you!
(Y/N): Exactly. No offense, but I see a girl before me who has spent her entire life getting exactly what she wanted.
Weiss: (crossing her arms, looking defiant) That's not even remotely true!
Under the (Y/N)'s gaze, she reluctantly relents.
Weiss: Well... not entirely true.
*Cuts again to Ruby and Ozpin*
Ozpin: Being a team leader isn't just a title you carry into battle, but a badge you wear constantly. If you're not always performing at your absolute best, then what reason do you give others to follow you?
Ruby looks thoughtful with Ozpin's words, then smiles at him.
*Cuts again to (Y/N) and Weiss*
(Y/N): So you didn't get to be leader, so what? That's no reason for you act that way, I mean do you really think that acting like this would make Uncle Ozpin reconsider?
As Weiss finally calms down and looks at him again.
(Y/N): Learn to love what you have, Weiss. So instead of trying to be the leader (puts his hand on her shoulder) just be the best person you can be.
Weiss smiles a little at the words of wisdom.
(Y/N): Well....it's getting late. (stands up then walks away) See you in the morning!
Weiss: (stands up to) Where're you going?
(Y/N):(stops walking and turns to Weiss) I still have things to do, and if I were you Weiss, I'd try not to be too hard on Ruby.
(Y/N) then proceeded to walk away.
*Cuts again to Ruby and Ozpin*
Ozpin: (turning back on Ruby, still talking to her) You've been burdened with a daunting responsibility, Ruby. I advise you take some time, to think about how you will uphold it.
Ruby, with a last look of consideration, turns and walks away. She comes to the balcony where (Y/N) is walking away from Weiss and smiles a little at her partner.
(Weiss POV)
I'm staring at (Y/N), as he's walking away.
Weiss: .......
Weiss: *mutters* You don't remember....... but you didn't change, that's all that matters. *smiles*
(Y/N POV)
I come across a vending machine where I was about to buy myself a drink, but as soon as I patted my pockets,
(Y/N): *mutters* Shit....I left it.
Yang: Here ya go!
I turn to see Yang holding two drinks, one is holding out for me.
(Y/N): You didn't have to.
Yang: Come on! It's the least I can do for helping my sister earlier.
(Y/N): All I did was talk to Weiss.
Yang: Well..... then what about that night with Roman?
(Y/N): (stares at the drink for a moment then takes it) It's more like 'I joined' than 'I helped' to be honest. *smiles*
Yang: Still.....
A moment of silence as she shyly looks down, blushing.
(Y/N): You OK Yang?
Yang: Yeah....... Hey, wanna walk with me?
We were walking in the courtyard talking about what happened to me in the initiation.
Yang: Healing Factors?
(Y/N): Yeah, It's kinda my semblance....(scratches the back his head)
Yang: Geez, how many semblance do you have?
(Y/N): You'd be surprised.
Yang: Man, you were already born lucky, I bet!
We both stopped walking and sat on a bench.
(Y/N): (looks down) Not really.....
Yang: What do you mean?
(Y/N): It's more like a ......... like I was uhhhh...... accidentally mutated?
Yang: What?
(Y/N): I know it sounds confusing, but yeah........ I guess I got these (sparks electricity in hand) by accident.
Yang: I see..... So how'd you get them?
(Y/N): Y-You wouldn't believe me if told you.
Yang: Surprise me!
(Y/N): Nuclear explosion.
Yang looks at me in disapproval.
Yang: Uhhhhh....
(Y/N): Told ya!
Yang: Really?!
(Y/N): Yes, Really!
Yang: (cringing) I-I don't know.......
(Y/N): Let's just agree that this is my semblance.
Yang: Fair enough!
We both silently stare at the sunset as she puts her head on my shoulder.
(Y/N): Y-Yang.....?
Yang: (Y/N)?
(Y/N): Y-Yeah?
Yang: Do you.......miss your parents?
I then start to remember the things me and my family did the second I heard that.
(Y/N): ......Yeah......
She then sits on my lap and her arms wrap around my neck.
(Y/N): Uhhh.....Y-Yang....?
She looks at me.
Yang: (Y/N)......
We both blush, as we both look at each other for half a minute, but it feels like we've staring at each other forever, and her face is slowly getting closer to mine, inch by inch. Then my scroll started to ring.
Yang & (Y/N): Huh?
She gets off of me as I got my scroll. I look at my phone and it was Ozpin, he messaged me to get to his office.
Yang: What is it?
(Y/N): It's Ozpin, he wants me to go to his office.
Yang: Oh.....Well I.......guess I'll see tomorrow.
(Y/N): You too!
I start to walk away.
(Yang POV)
Yang: *mutters irritatingly* (snaps finger) so close.....
(Time Skip)
(Y/N POV)
I'm in the elevator, going towards up to Ozpin's office.
(Y/N): .......
Then a certain image flashes before my eyes.
My face then got red because of it.
(Y/N): Guh.......
As I got to Ozpin's office, Ozpin and Glynda sees me banging my head against the wall.
Glynda: (Y/N)....?
I stopped then turned to face them.
(Y/N): Oh! uhhh..... Good evening! Ahem.... *Grin*
Ozpin: (silent for a moment until he speaks) A-anyway, I called you here to ask you something.
(Y/N): (approaching Ozpin) What's up?
Ozpin: Have you ever heard of the White Fang?
(Y/N): Those faunus terrorists?
Ozpin: Yes.
(Y/N): Yeah, I heard of 'em. Why?
Glynda: If that's the case, if you ever encountered some of them, we want you to contact us right away.
(Y/N): Got it.
Ozpin: Good, then you're dismissed.
(Y/N): Wait......that's it? Couldn't you guys just texted me or something?
Ozpin: We would have....but..... *smiles*
(Y/N): What?
Ozpin: Nothing. Go on, see you tomorrow morning.
(Y/N): OK......
I got back into the elevator, as the elevator is about to close.
Ozpin: I hope you have fun with the girls!
(Y/N): W-Wait, wha-!
As I was about to finish, the elevator closes.
(Time Skip)
I'm walking towards my dorm whilst thinking about what Ozpin just said.
(Y/N): *mutters* "Have fun with the girls" what the hell does he mean by that!?
Weiss: (Y/N)?
I look up to see Weiss still in her regular attire, also going to her room. Turns out our rooms were right next to each other.
(Y/N): Oh hey Weiss!
Weiss: Who were you talking t-?
(Y/N): Nobody! *chuckles*
Weiss: OK.....
(Y/N): *sigh* So how'd it go?
Weiss: I was just about to make it up to Ruby.
(Y/N): That's good, hope you two can cooperate for the next four years.
Weiss: Heh, you and me both.
(Y/N): Well goodnight.
As I was about to head in my room, Weiss grabs my hand and asks.
Weiss: .....Will she.....forgive me?
(Y/N): Only one way to find out.
She looks up to me as I smile, which made her also smile a little.
Weiss: Yeah.....
As I was about to head inside my room, I again turned to Weiss, who was also about to head inside.
(Y/N): Um....Weiss?
Weiss again turns her attention to me.
(Y/N): I'm sorry, about earlier, if I got hard on you......I mean things just g-
Weiss then puts her finger on my lips.
Weiss: If you want to make it up to me, then I'm going to need you to do me a favor.
(Y/N): Alright, what's that?
Weiss: Oh, I'll tell you........in the near future. *smiles*
(Y/N): *chuckles* Alright, just tell me whenever.
Weiss: *smugly* Oh, I will!
(Y/N): *chuckles* Well, goodnight!
Weiss again grabbed my hand.
Weiss: Uhm, (Y/N)......one more thing....
(Y/N): Yeah?
Weiss: Do you......remember anything......as a kid?
(Y/N): .......No....sorry.....The doctor said I suffered from temporary amnesia, so I guess there're still things that I don't remember.
Weiss: I-I see.....
Seconds of silence passes, then.
(Y/N): Well, goodnight.
Weiss: Goodnight....
I got inside and close the door.
(Y/N): (Did I say anything wrong?)
I feel a slight headache, as I hear the girl's voice again.
(Girl's voice in my head)
Yay! Bunk Beds!
(Y/N): Agh....shit......
I decided to ignore it. I got into my PJ's and decided to call it a day.
(Y/N): Man.....what.a.day.....
(3RD POV)
In the room of team RWBY, the door opens and Weiss' shadow is seen against the hall's light. Blake is sleeping under the covers, Yang is spread out on her bed and snoring, and when Weiss lifts the blanket of Ruby's tent, she finds the occupant with her head resting on notes, a pencil in her hand, and open books all around her. Weiss, looking amazed at Ruby's determination, clears her throat and gently shakes the other girl awake, who takes a second to regain consciousness and start flailing in surprise.'
Ruby: Weiss! I-I was studying, and then I fell asleep! I'm sorry...
Weiss places a hand over Ruby's mouth and puts a finger to her own so Ruby understands the need for lowering her voice. Weiss looks near Ruby's pillow and spots an empty Beacon coffee mug.
Weiss: (lowering her hand) How do you take your coffee?
Ruby: I... I don't...
Weiss: (getting irritated) Answer the question!
Ruby: Uhh, cream and five sugars!
Weiss: (sighs) Don't move.
Weiss ducks under to her own bed and comes up a moment later with a fresh cup, offering it to Ruby
Weiss: Here.
Ruby: Um... Thanks, Weiss.
Weiss smiles, then looks apologetic.
Weiss: Ruby, I think you have what it takes to be a good leader.
Ruby smiles appreciatively
Weiss: Just know that I am going to be the best teammate you'll ever have!
They share a smile.
Weiss: Good luck studying!
Weiss ducks under, only to come up and point at one of Ruby's papers.
Weiss: That's wrong, by the way.
ducks under again, and her voice comes from the doorway this time
Weiss: Hey, Ruby?
Ruby: Uh-huh?
Weiss stands in the door with her hand on the knob.
Weiss: I always wanted bunk beds as a kid.
She starts to close the door. Ruby, grinning at the progress with her friend, goes back to her notes.
