Hey sorry for the long wait, I have been busy at work. So here is Chapter Seventeen!!!

Chapter Seventeen: Arsenic
Cale's POV:
"Dr. Pond what do you mean, when you say that she is dying?" I can't lose her, I just can't.
"I mean she is dying. I am going to have to take her to my place and run some tests because I have no idea what could be wrong now..... Can you tell me what has been going on?"
"Well she has not been able to keep any food down and all, and her stomach pains have gotten worse. So my mother has been making her protein shakes. They seem to have stayed down but at the same time it’s like they are making her worse."
"Well we need to get going right now. The sooner I run the tests the sooner we will know what is happening with her."
I walked over and picked her up and ran with her to Dr. Pond's facility. 'Dallas you have to pull through, I know that you have had it really rough since you got here and I can't figure out why bad things keep happening to you. But please hold on and please don't leave me.' I said to her through our mind link.
I knew that she probably could not hear it, but I was still hoping. I followed Dr. Pond into his work room and laid her onto the table.
"Alpha I am going to need you to wait in the waiting room. I am going to run some tests and find out what is going on. But I need you to wait outside in the waiting room."
I nodded my head and went where I was told to wait. All I could do was put my head in my hands and cry. Why has so many bad things happened to her?
It was about an hour later, when Dr. Pond came out and sat in front of me. "Alpha, where have you been getting the powder for the protein shakes that you have been giving to Dallas?"
"My mother has been getting it from Miller Shakes. They have been letting my mother by the powder and she fixes them at home. Why do you ask?"
"Come with me Alpha."
I followed Dr. Pond into the room where Dallas was and she was hooked up to all sorts of machines and IV's.
"She wasn't breathing on her own so I had to put a breathing tube in to help her, also the IV's are putting in medication that is eliminating the arsenic."
"What arsenic?" I was so confused.
"I found arsenic in her blood and I linked to Mason and asked him to bring over anything that she had consumed in the past few days and I found arsenic in the protein powder. Whoever you have been getting that powder from has put arsenic in it, and I am guessing they are trying to kill Dallas."
"Is she going to be okay?"
"I can't give you a happy answer Alpha. I have never had to treat someone with arsenic poisoning before. She can't breathe on her own, and she has lost so much weight. I am sorry Alpha but my point of view and my education, there is a very big chance that she is not going to make it and neither is your son."
I was just dumb founded. Who would want to hurt Dallas, besides the Sapphire Pack? I could not lose her, I could feel her slowly leaving me, and it was killing me and I could feel my wolf wanting to come out. I felt my eyes turn black and I stormed off out of the office and I was heading straight for Miller Shakes.
'Mason meet me at Miller Shakes, they have been putting arsenic in the powder that my mother has been buying for Dallas. I may snap and need you there.'
I passed on to Mason. I didn't want to snap and start a war with the Sapphire Pack. But if Dallas, dies I will kill every single member of the Sapphire Pack, you have my word.
Dallas's POV:
I knew something had happened to me, because I felt like I was floating and I could see myself laying on a steel table with a bunch of tubes coming out of me and hooked up to all these machines. I looked down and I was no longer pregnant. What has happened to my son?............ I could hear talking that sounded as though it was coming from above me.
I turned around and I saw a tunnel, you know the type of tunnel that would be like a jogging and walking tunnel. I followed the voices and I left the tunnel and saw my mom, dad, and Jensen sitting at a picnic table. They must have heard me, because they turned around and Jensen got up and ran towards me and picked me up and spun me around.
"Oh my god Dallas, I have missed you so much."
"Jensen what are you doing here? I must be dreaming."
Jensen put me down and my parents walked up to us, and I ran right into their arms. I couldn't figure out why I was here, so I had to be dreaming.
"Mom and dad, what is going on? Am I dreaming?"
"No you are not Dallas; you are on the brink of death."
What the hell was my dad talking about? "What do you mean that I am on the brink of death?"
"What your father is trying to tell you is that, you are dying Dallas. Someone has been putting arsenic in the protein shakes that you have been drinking. That is why you were throwing everything up and losing so much weight so fast."
I could not believe what my mom was saying, but I knew that she was right because she would never lie to me.
"Why is all this stuff happening to me? First I lose you guys, then I get the shit beat out of me, I have our old pack out to kidnap me, then I almost lose my baby, and then get pushed by Cale, and now this. I have no idea how much longer that I can hold on."
My dad came over to me and put his hands on my shoulders. "All this stuff is happening to you because the spirits are testing you. You are the white wolf and they are testing you to see just how strong you are."
"Then why do they keep trying to kill my son and me. If I was consuming arsenic how do I know that I will survive and my son won't be affected?"
"Dr. Pond has got you stable. You need to go back to your body Dallas, the spirits are not ready for you up here yet and you need to raise your son." I could see my mom start to tear up.
"I thought I would let you guys know that we are naming our son Jensen, after you."
Jensen walked up to me and pulled me into a hug. "I am so happy for you Dallas, I know that you are happy; but I wish I was the father and it was you and I getting married."
I felt tears on my shoulder and I knew that he was crying. I pulled back and looked him in the eyes.
"Jensen I will always love you, and this is the life you and I would have had if you were not murdered. I am naming my son after you because I always want you in my life and I know that you all will always be watching over me. But Jensen, Cale makes me so happy and I love him so much; but I will always love you."
"I know you will, and I will always love you and look out for you and your son." He kissed me on the cheek and let go.
"Honey I think you better get back to your body. We love you and will always be watching over your new growing family." I ran and hugged both my mom and dad and kissed them both on the cheek. I walked over to Jensen and kissed him and hugged him.
I gave them one last smile and headed back the way that I came from. They were all right, I am the white wolf and from now on I need to believe in myself and show everyone what I can do. I made my way back and once again found myself looking at myself from above with all the tubes and the IV.
I remember seeing it in a movie once, where the spirit left the body and when they decided to return to their body all they did was lay back down inside their body. So hey I guess I could give it a try. I lay down and the next thing I know I was choking on something and my eyes opened.
Dr. Pond must have heard because he came running in and looked surprised. "Luna oh my god I can't believe that your awake."
I kept choking and coughing. "Luna I am going to need you to try and not cough. I had to put this breathing tube in you to help you breath."
I nodded my head and he put his hand on the tube and began pulling it out of my lungs. It was one of the weirdest feelings I have ever had. After it was out I couldn't help but cough, I could tell that my throat was dry, and Dr. Pond noticed and brought me in a glass of water which I downed in the matter of seconds.
"Luna can you tell me how you are awake and alive?"
"I am the white wolf, and it will take more than arsenic to bring me down."
"Well I am glad that you have made it."
"Dr. Pond how is my son?" I was more worried about him, than I was about myself.
"Well he is doing great. I have had a heart monitor on him and his heart beat has stayed strong during this whole ordeal. It's as if your wolf and your human are taking the brunt of it and keeping the arsenic away from your son."
"My son is very strong............... Um Dr. Pond where is Cale?" I thought he would be at my bed side waiting for me to wake up.
"He took off after I told him where I found the arsenic. It was in the protein powder that Mary was getting for you from Miller Shakes. I am guessing that he went there."
"Can you call him for me please, and let me talk to him. I really don't want anything to happen to him or have him do something to cause a war or kill an innocent person."
"Yes of course Luna."
I watched him pull out his cell phone and dial a number. I could hear it start to ring and he handed me the phone. Come on Cale pick up, pick up, pick up. I kept telling to myself.
"Dr. Pond, what has happened?" I could hear the sadness in his voice.
"Ca....." I got interrupted by Cale.
"Oh my god, Dallas is dead. What am I going to do now? I know I am going to kill every last member of the Sapphire Pack and......” Now it is my turn to interrupt him.
"Cale shut the hell up for one minute."
"Dallas? Is that you baby?"
"Yes Cale it is me. Can you please come back to Dr. Pond's before you do something stupid and something that you will regret?"
"Okay I am on my way." Then he hung up.
'Mason did Cale do anything stupid?' I messaged Mason, because I needed to know if he did.
'No I got to him before he did. It is good to hear from you Princess, the whole pack has been worried sick.'
'Thanks, but please just get Cale here.'
'I am already on our way.'
Thank god, nothing happened. I am due any day now and didn't need a war starting. "Dr. Pond."
I watched him walk in. "Yes Luna?"
"Can I please get something to eat? I am starving."
"But of course Dallas." He turned away and I could hear him laughing.
I decided to close my eyes for a little while till either Cale got here or my food did. I was just so happy that no harm came to Jensen. Well I am hoping anyways.
I felt a hand slip into my hand, so I opened my eyes and saw Cale with a huge smile on his face and tears in his eyes.
"I am so happy that you are okay baby. I still can't believe all this bad stuff keeps happening to you. I am your mate and I can't even protect you."
"Cale, why all this stuff is happening is because the spirits are testing me to see just how strong I am and how much I can put up with, with me being the white wolf. I was given this responsibility and I want to prove to the spirits that I was the right choice. So after everything that has happened, I don't think that you will ever lose me."
He put his head on my stomach and cried. I had now come to understand what I was, and I was never going to go down without a fight. And that I can promise you.

I think that this is the perfect time to stop. The next few chapters will have a lot in them and will keep you all on your toes. Sorry for taking so long to get this chapter up. I hope that you enjoy it, and I promise the next few chapters will be a lot longer.
