"Here comes Hunter," my friend squeals before slamming her locker and running away. I roll my eyes. Hunter, my best maybe-more-than-this friend, is fidgeting with something in his hands. I grab my stuff, ready to walk over and "hi", but as soon as I start off, he notices me. Before I can respond, he dashes away. Weird. Hunter and I usually walk to class together. I shake off any of my thoughts and start to math.
"It was so weird. Hunter and I-" I stop mid sentence. A tall dirty blonde boy stops me in my tracks.
"Please put this on," He says, shoving me a red bandanna, "Over your eyes."
"What?"
"Just do it," He's interrupted by his cell phone ringing, "Hello? Yes, I'm trying. Okay I'm coming."
"What is this for?"
"You'll see. Just put it on," I glance over at my friends who nod their heads in approval. The red bandanna smells freshly clean and a little like Hunter. Not that it matters or anything. As soon as he ties it around my eyes I can't see anything. I'm led down many hallways of the school; so many I lose track. Finally, I am stopped. Shouts echo around me as someone slowly takes off my blindfold. I'm blinded by light. Then I see a crowd of our whole class in a circle around Hunter. Ummm.
"Lauren," Hunter shouts, each person in line next to him slowly flips their signs over, "Will you go to homecoming with me?"
I smile and laugh, "Of course, Hunter."
He smiles at me and pulls me into a hug. Everyone around us awwws as we laugh.
"You look so beautiful, Lauren," My mom smiles.
"Thanks, mom," I look at myself in the mirror again. I chose a short, strapless light blue dress. It's adorned with jewels on the sweetheart neckline. I love it. My ombré hair is straightened down my back. I glance at the clock and notice the time, "Hunter should be here at any moment."
On cue, Hunter arrives. As usual, it's a mad rush for pictures and poses. As soon as we're out of the mad rush, Hunter grabs my hand.
"C'mon, Hunter, let's dance!"
"I don't dance."
"You dance all the time for me."
"For you. Not for everyone else."
"You're no fun."
I try to pull him onto the dance floor but he doesn't budge.
"Please, Hunter?"
Another song starts, I recognize it.
"Hunter! This is my favorite song. Please?" He doesn't respond so I look at him with my best lost puppy look, "For me?"
Hunter smiles, breaking, "Well I guess one dance wouldn't hurt would it?"

Hunter grabs my hand and leads me onto the dance floor. We join the group of couples slow dancing. He gently grabs me.
