Chapter 20
I was awoken to a hand rubbing up and down the middle of my back. I started to panic. I started pushing away from the person.
“Shhh Invy. It’s just me.” Adian?
I slowly opened my eyes only to have Adian’s blue ones staring back at me. It felt like he was staring through me. His eyes held sorrow, pain….love. I looked down. I heard him sigh.
“Invy” his gentle voice rang through my ears. I still didn’t look at him.
“Invy…look at me” he pleaded. I slowly looked up but avoided his gaze. He sighed again.
“Invy… I can’t help you if you won’t tell me what’s wrong.” His voice was strained. “Please.” I couldn’t. I just couldn’t tell him what happened to me. Only mom, dad, David, nick and Clair knew what happened to me.
“I- I can’t” I whispered.
“Why invy? You’re my mate and you’re hurting.” He pled. “Why can’t you tell me?”
“I-I just can’t.” I whispered wishing he would let me be.
“You don’t know that it hurts me seeing you in pain knowing I can do something but just not knowing what.” I can hear the pain as he spoke.
“I’m sorry.” I whispered a tear rolling down my face. A hand came up and whipped it off. I look up at Adian.
“Don’t cry angel.” He said as he wrapped his arms around me making a little protective cocoon around me. I buried my head into his chest and listen to his heart beat as I gently fell back asleep.

When I woke back up I felt cold. Adian wasn’t here. Had I been dreaming? Was Adian really here? I felt my wolf cry out.

She didn’t answer back so I tried my luck with my legs. I sung my legs over the edge of the bed and tried to stand up only to fall back down.
Ugh!
I tried again and that too was an epic fail. Finally after the umpteenth time I was able to stand. I slowly walked toward the door.
“Turn around!” my wolf yelled at me
Why?
“Just do it!” she yelled back.
I slowly turned around and there was a shadow of a man by my window. I closed my eyes and slowly counted down from 10.

It’s just a fragment of my imagination. Yea, that it. I slowly opened my eyes again and the shadow was gone. I sighed and mentally slapped myself for being so scared.
“Behind you!” she shouted again.
I didn’t want to turn around. I could feel them behind me. It was breathing down my neck. It took all I have not to scream.
“This isn’t real, this isn’t real.” I’m just imagining this” I said out loud. I heard a chuckle from behind me.
Oh fuck! It’s real!
“Just keep telling yourself that sweetheart” a deep voice said. I spun around only to get weak and fall to the floor.
I looked up and black eyes were piercing through me. He crouched down to my leave.
“I’ll be back for you my toy. Your mines and no one else’s” his voice bounced off the walls. I heard running.
“You’re not just safe yet” he said.
I closed my eyes as fear began to crawl at me. He’s back. A sob started to make its way up my throat. Tears began to fall. I was so terrified. He’s not going to leave me alone.
I heard the door open and someone’s hands around me. They were pulling me off the floor and caring me to the “bed”.
“shhh invy…..calm down….it’s ok” Adian’s gentle voice cooed. “Im here…don’t worry. Stop crying invy.”
I wrapped my arms around his neck and cried until my throat was raw.

My crying had become sniffles and I slowly untangled myself from him. I looked down at my hands.
“Are you ok” he asked.
No. but I nodded anyway.
“No you’re not. I can feel your pain and fear invy” his voice started to rise. “Please tell me why. Stop lying to me”
I just shook my head….can I tell him…would he still want me afterward?
“Please invy please.” He begged.
“Please Adian!” I screamed. “It brings back too many bad memories! Please don’t make.”
I was on the verge of tears again. For me to tell him about the man I would have to tell him what happened to me.
“I’m here invy. For you. You don’t have to hold it in. you don’t have to go through this alone anymore. Please.” he begged.
Tell him…he’ll understand

“Adian” Adian looked at me

He grabbed my hand and stared into my eyes.

“You have to promise that you won’t leave me and protect me.” I whispered
“I won’t ever be able to leave you and I will always protect you.” He whispered as he place a lingering kiss on my forehead.
“You can’t interrupt me or I won’t be able to go on.” I said “promise.”
“Ok I promise not to interrupt.”
I took a deep breath and started down memory lane.
“It started at my ex friend’s party…………”
