I let out a huge sigh as I was frustrating for my outfit while I was standing in the middle of my bedroom.

'Jennifer...' I groaned to myself. 'Why don't you just stay home and relax on the couch?' Rubbing my eyebrows. As I glanced at the clock—it was almost 7:20. 'Shit,' I muttered under my breath, swiftly opting for a pair of jeans and a sweater coat. As always I only like to wear my causal. That's why, for a night out I settled for jeans, a tank top, and a sweater coat,  which is thankful that Landon was typically chilly at night, making my outfit choice just right for the occasion.

Jennifer's Outfit :

With the clock already showing 7:25, I quickly brushed my hair and glanced at my reflection in the mirror before hurrying out of my apartment. My steps were swift as I made my way toward the café, but a wave of nervousness began to wash over me. As I approached the café, my pace slowed, and I spotted a familiar male figure leaning against his car, gazing toward the closed café. Dressed in black pants, a gray shirt, and a sweater coat, he exuded charm.

Charles POV :

"It was only 7:20 when I arrived at the café. However, to my surprise, it was already closed and enveloped in darkness. This was quite unusual for me, as I'm usually the one who arrives late. But today, I felt unusually energetic. Arriving ten minutes early was a rarity for me. So, I parked my car beside the curb and swiftly stepped out.

As I exited my car, I retrieved my phone from my pocket to check the time, and a peculiar thought crossed my mind: 'What if she stood me up?' I quickly dismissed this notion. She's not that kind of person; I know her better than that. In fact, I've known her for quite some time, ever since we first met at this café.

However, despite my efforts to shake off any negative thoughts, they persisted: 'What if she doesn't show up tonight?' I couldn't help but worry a bit, especially since I didn't even have her number to confirm her attendance. It's rather odd, isn't it? How could I ask her out on a date without having her number?

'I should ask for her number,' I muttered to myself, tucking my phone back into my pocket. Then, I gazed up at the clear night sky."

"I think she will like it..." I murmured softly to myself as I drifted into my thoughts, my gaze fixed on the clear night sky, adorned with a sprinkling of stars. Jennifer—there's still so much I don't know about her. But I'm eager to learn, if she'll let me. She's unlike anyone I've ever met before. I'm accustomed to meeting girls with their own allure, but Jennifer's charm is effortless. She exudes a natural attractiveness, simply by being herself, especially when she's with her young daughter. It's refreshing to encounter someone so genuine, without any pretense or facade.

I lowered my head, briefly glancing at the ground beneath me as my mind wandered to thoughts of this single mother. Lost in contemplation, a small smile graced my lips until I was startled by the sound of light footsteps approaching. They halted a short distance away from me, and then a familiar voice called out my name.

"Wow, you're early!" I swiftly redirected my attention to the speaker, and there she was—Jennifer Alison, her face lit up with a radiant smile.

"Hey Jen," I greeted with a broad smile, turning towards her. Even in casual attire, she exuded a certain charm that was hard to miss.

"Have you been waiting long?" she inquired as she approached me. I shook my head with a chuckle.

"Not really. I just arrived too," I replied swiftly, though it was a little white lie. She chuckled along with me.

"So, shall we go?" I asked, offering.

"Sure," she answered slowly, her smile evident. As soon as she responded, I swiftly opened the car door for her, gesturing for her to take the passenger seat. "Please, be my guest, Miss Alison," I teased lightly, chuckling, and she joined in.

"Thank you, Mr. Charles," she replied in kind, settling into the car. As she found her place, I slipped into the driver's seat, and we embarked on our midnight drive. At first, she seemed a bit nervous about the situation. Sensing the tension, after a moment of silence, I initiated a conversation to ease the atmosphere.

"Are you already missing Adie?" I asked, my focus on the road ahead. I sensed her turning towards me with a soft smile.

"To be honest, I really miss her," she admitted with a small giggle. I simply nodded in response, chuckling softly.

"I remember mentioning at Adie's school how she has beautiful eyes, just like yours, and I truly meant it," I said, pausing to glance at her.

"Oh, really?" she responded, her interest piqued.

"Yeah, that's why Adie has those stunning brown eyes, just like yours," I reiterated, feeling her blush as she froze momentarily, speechless. I chuckled softly, breaking the moment, and we settled back into a comfortable silence. It took a few minutes to reach the point I had planned for tonight. As I pulled over at the edge of the road near Tower Bridge, I turned my head slightly towards Jennifer.

"Are you ready?" I asked her with a grin.

"Ready for what?" she responded, confusion evident on her face.

"How much can you shout into the air, Jennifer?" I asked, opening the roof of my car. She flinched as the cold breeze rushed in.

"I don't know," she replied, giggling and shaking her head.

"Well then, why don't you give it a try now?" I suggested with a wink. Starting the engine, I accelerated, driving up with speed. As we ascended onto the Bridge Lane, the night sky unfolded above us, perfectly complemented by the city lights.

"Wow!" I exclaimed, my voice merging with the wind as I sped along. Jennifer giggled in amusement, feeling the rush of the night breeze as she raised her hands into the air. Casting a quick glance at her, I couldn't help but notice how perfectly beautiful she looked under the flickering lights of the bridge.

"WOWWWW!" she shouted into the air amidst her laughter. Even the star-filled night sky couldn't outshine her radiant smile. Unconsciously, I found myself grinning widely as I drove.

"It's really amazing, Charles," she exclaimed, turning towards me.

"Is it?" I asked in return, glancing at her as she struggled to tame her wind-blown hair.

"Oh, Jen, you're a total mess now," I chuckled, and she joined in with small giggles, brushing her hair with her fingers. While she was occupied with her hair, I decided to continue the conversation without looking at her.

"I love it," I paused, slowing down as we reached the other side of the bridge. She turned her attention towards me, her expression a mix of confusion and curiosity. I stole a quick glance at her.

"I love it when you smile; it's cute," I confessed without turning my gaze from the road, a smile playing on my lips. I could sense her staring at me, speechless, from the corner of my eye. It might have sounded a bit unconventional, but I truly meant every word.

Her smile truly is beautiful... and it has a way of captivating my mind.
