Vinnie stays still, her hand on her back to assist herself not to fall back. Draco was still infront of him, too busy tending her splinch to even give a glimpse. He was sweating profusely. She could almost see him cry.

He took his wand from his pocket, Vinnie flinched back. She was afraid he'd do something. Trust was already shattered once, and like a broken glass, it could not be fully repaired.

"Listen," he spoke, still looking down. Vinnie's splinch was already fully covered with his polo that he ripped to act as gauze. "I haven't time to explain everything, but please, Vinnie, trust me. Even just for this very moment" he added, looking up at her. Their eyes met. Not with anger and paired with furrowed eyebrows, but with tears. Vinnie wasn't sure if she was crying because of the events unfolding before her or because of the pain she's suffering from the splinch she had. He reached once again from his pockets and retrieved a vial.

"This is Essence of Dittany, I tried using it earlier to tend to your wounds but the maximum I could use of could not heal you properly." He grabbed her hand and placed it gently inside her palm, the closing her hand with his own. "Use it later," he added.

Vinnie's head was in complete chaos. She still isn't done with processing over the fact that Nova killed Fred, and now Draco is being good again.

Vinnie stood up, grunting with every movement.

Draco reached before her but she slapped his hand away from her "Don't touch me." She said, panting.

"Vin, you're too weak to move."

"Then take advantage of that and end me! Please!" She replied, sobbing quietly. "If you won't, then let me go. Because unlike you I have people I care for dearly that I do not want to die because of this stupid chaos you and your people are causing!"

Vinnie walked limping and bleeding. She looked at her splinch and saw that it really was healed a bit. She hesitated for a moment to leave the room and just stay to talk to him but memories flashed back. Memories of the burrows on Christmas night. Memories of Fred, Lavender, Gellert, Olethros, Athena—

A loud sound awoke her from her thought then she saw Draco posed in front of her with a wand in his wand, it was pointed on the far left. Her vision blurred again, a loud and high pitched ringing in her ear and her heart rate sped up. She was breathing heavily.

"Vin," Draco's voice warped with noises in her head, it was barely audible. "Vinnie!"

Who are they...?

She asked herself.

"They hold you dear."

A creepily familiar voice answered. Vinnie closed her eyes shut and covered her ears, hoping to get away from the ear breaking sound in her ear.

I don't know them.

"But they know you."

I don't know an Olethros, I don't know an Athena. Who are they? Who are you!?

"I'm you"

"Vinnie!" Draco's voice was simultaneous with Vinnie opening her eyes. "Are those the visions again?" His voice despondent.

Vinnie shook her head several times. She felt a hand on her waist. It was Draco. She hadn't realized it but she was sat on the table with Draco between her legs. His hand rest on her waist and the other on her cheek. She jolt down, groaning when she did. She was still wounded and she only realized that.

Draco tailed not far from her, his arms extended. "Vin—"

"Don't touch me!" Vinnie warned. Her hands positioned as if to defend herself. "Please," she looks at him "I don't trust you like I used to."

Draco's features softened, he straightened his back and spoke. "Okay, I apologize. But please let me guide you out."

Vinnie nodded. Draco stand on his ground and walked a few inches to a few feet away from Vinnie. He opened the door and shadows of people in black robes haunts the place on the other side of the classroom  door they were in. Like a zombie apocalypse but it's Death Eaters. Vinnie shivered from the cold breeze rushing inside the now opened classroom door. She struggled to walk pass the door.

An obscure green glow beamed from not far in front of Vinnie. Draco, swiftly but carefully, extended his hands as a protective shield before the green light could hit Vinnie. He casted a charm in his mind that countered the spell, the conjurer of the green beam lies unconscious, maybe even dead on the ground he once stood.

"Was that—" Vinnie couldn't finish her words when Draco grabs her hand and ran out, shielding her from every Death Eaters being a threat to her well-being. She watches him as he moves. She hasn't really thought about him and his ability to fight, she never day dreamed about a war and him saving her. That's mental. She felt another dose of aching pain on her splinch that made her grip on Draco's back.

He looks back at her, "are you well? Can you apply the Essence right now? Are you strong eno— nevermind." He said continuously then shot a blinding beam on the last Death Eater in front of the both of them. After, Draco gently slid his wand back into his pocket, his eyes never leaving Vinnie's. Without a word, he swiftly scooped her up in his arms, holding her close in a tender and embrace.

In that moment, time seemed to stand still as Draco carried her in his arms, their eyes locked in a deep connection that spoke volumes. The world around them faded into the background, and all that mattered was the bond they shared.

As Draco held her in a bridal style, Vinnie couldn't help but feel a rush of emotions coursing through her. The pain from her wounds momentarily forgotten, she felt a sense of safety and comfort enveloping her. The touch of his hands against her back and the way he effortlessly carried her made her heart race with a mixture of excitement and tenderness. It was exactly how she felt with him before the night at the burrows.

Their proximity allowed Vinnie to catch a whiff of Draco's familiar scent, a subtle blend of cardamom and mint. It intoxicated her senses, deepening the connection between them. She couldn't deny the undeniable chemistry that had always existed between them, even amidst the chaos and uncertainty that surrounded their lives.

In Draco's arms, Vinnie couldn't help but notice the softness in his gaze and the gentleness in his touch. It was a side of him she hadn't seen in a long time, a side that reminded her of the person she had once fallen for. The walls she had built around her heart began to crumble, as she allowed herself to be vulnerable in his presence.

As they moved together, Vinnie felt a flicker of hope ignite within her. Maybe, just maybe, there was still a chance for them amidst the turmoil and darkness. Maybe love could triumph over the pain and betrayal they had both endured.

Draco's actions spoke louder than any words could. In that moment, he was showing her that he was willing to put aside their past grievances and be there for her, to protect and support her when she needed it the most. And as Vinnie looked into his eyes, she saw a glimmer of love and sincerity that made her heart skip a beat.

She felt Draco's hand slip into her own and grabbed the vial she holds. He placed her down gently on the floor. The sound of the chaos is still present but the place was safe. It wasn't really, but it was safe enough.

"Can I?" He ask, looking at her wounded torso. Vinnie nodded.

"Why are you so confusing?" She asks. And she was shocked by her own words, she didn't showed it, but she was. It was ought to be asked anyway, so why wait.

"I'm..." He started, removing his polo that covered Vinnie wound off her torso. He took the cork of the vial and dropped what remains in it on her wound. "I am, aren't I."

He continued speaking as he continues adding the essence on her wound. "I apologize if I damaged you beyond explainable but I have no intentions of hurting you, whether you believe it or not," she watches as her wound slowly closes up, it was no longer bleeding. "There." He looks at her. "I want nothing but to protect you. To keep you alive but also my family. I couldn't do it both. Nova is already tamed by loyalty to the dark lord like a pup, my mother is too scared to stand up for herself, and my father is a jerk. I thought maybe if I haven't invited you to the Slytherin party that night maybe you wouldn't be, well, here. I thought maybe if you had picked someone who deserves you better then maybe things wouldn't be this hard. For you, at the very least. But I chose to be selfish and have you for my own. That day, when we were on first year, when those Gryffindor students were throwing snowball at you. I was asked by my father—who was to accompanied me back from school—to join them. He even taught me a spell to make an even bigger snowball. But when I saw a glimpse of you, I couldn't. And ever since, you have bewitched me, Vinnie. You have bewitched me beyond words that I'd go as far as turning my back on my father's demand to have you. I wasn't allowed to go out my room for a week of the vacation because of that. But that's not what this is about." He reaches for her hand. His hands was cold, and pale. Even paler than she remembered. "I wish nothing but to harm you in any way, Vinnie. I wasn't the one who brought my aunt to the burrows that Christmas night. Believe me."

"I—" she tries to speak but was hindered by a quiet sob of her own. "I'm always trying to convince myself that you're good." Vinnie spoke, sighing a few times before attempting to stand in her feet. She expects another shot of piercing pain on her chest but it was nothing. She looked down and saw that her splinch was gone. Her body felt better. And it was with an urge she wasn't sure what. She reaches her hand to Draco, he looks at her hand, then at her. "Now, it's your turn to convince me."
