JANKI'S POV
"You can't be this good with me. You need to get angry. You need to yell at me, you need to get pissed off, irritated and regret it all. Not this. This holding me close to yourself and pampering me with everything you have. Cooing me, being there for me. You can't do all this Raghav" I spoke in a go but all he did was to look at me.
I waited for a minute, for him to say something but he didn't even utter a single word.
"Rana sa, I'm talking to you" I snapped and he blinked his eyes.
"You said that" He whispered
"What" I asked confused
"You took my name, for the first time" He said and I looked at him.
You can't do all this Raghav.
Raghav...
Melting as smooth as butter on hot pan.
"I... Said Rana sa" I lied when he smirked
"Whatever makes you sleep at night Sunshine" He smirked and I huffed
"That wasn't the point! Point is, you need to get pissed off when I mix salt in your coffee. You should get angry when I hid your files and didn't give it for a whole day. You should've yelled at me when I punctured all your favorite cars and hid your Mac book. Come on Rana sa." I exasperated
"Until and unless, your silly pranks doesn't harm you, do it for whole life Sunshine. I would love to tolerate them" He said
"Yes. This. Exactly! Why you're doing this Rana sa." I asked so impatient now
"Doing what" He questioned
"This! Making me.. Not hate you" I snapped
"What do you want me to do sunshine" He asked
"I don't know Rana sa. I don't know. I was so angry on you when you married me. But, I'm not able to remain angry" I whispered and he looked at me holding my hands.
"Janki... " he spoke and I knew since he took my name, whatever he was going to say was very, very serious.
You even know what his saying your name means!
And then you say, you want to hate him.
"Did you really marry me really, just because your parents said or for Megha. Not even tiniest bit because you found me worthy of it" He asked and I looked at him sighing.
"Of course you're worthy Rana sa. How you can not be. But you too knew you were wrong" I stated
"I wasn't wrong for what I did Sunshine. But I am and I already apologised for the way which might have been wrong according to you. So if you say what I did was wrong, then sorry sunshine, what I did wasn't wrong according to me" He sincerely spoke and I sighed
"I want to believe you" I mumbled
"Then do" He said
"I'm afraid" I added , don't know why.
I shouldn't be speaking this all at 2 in the morning!!!
"Of ? " He asked
"Getting hurt" I whispered
"Sunshine, take my sword and rip me apart if I become the reason of your hurt" He professed and I looked at him for a second and then just hugged him tightly.
And I felt him taking a deep breath and releasing it as if, he was living this moment.
"Where did you learn speaking so cheesy lines" I asked as he hugged me back.
"Are they affecting" He questioned
"I'm sleepy" I changed the topic and he looked at me.
"Give us a chance. Give me a chance" He said looking at me.
"You already know the answer. Don't you" I said and then looked at him.
"And I'll continue to put up with the pranks Rana sa" I added with a playful smile and he chuckled putting his palms on my cheeks.
Damn! His hands are so big! My face just fits in perfectly!
"If those silly pranks give you this much happiness, I'm ready to embrace whatever you throw on my way with open arms" He said and bringing his face closer to me, he kissed my forehead.
Was this what people call, taking a step forward!!
And I exactly knew what I was going to crave from now onwards for every single day!
"And always remember I'm here." He assured and I nodded resting my head on his shoulder.
"Good night Rana sa" I mumbled for the first time till date.
"You've no idea how beautiful the night is for me my Raani sa" He replied as he went to the couch and I closed my eyes dozing off.
And I had that smile even after the nightmare I had.
And this, happened for the first time till today !
This, someone holding on to me other then Radhika when I had nightmare, happened for the first time.
This, me not pushing away anyone, happened for the first time.
And this... Me getting attracted to someone, happened for the first time.
The next day as I woke up, my eyes went to the couch and I stood up going towards him.
And I looked him sighing.
Great! You give these big lashes to men, not to us women!
God, he has so beautiful lashes! And I want them!
And look at his perfectly trimmed beard, no doubt he's a King!!
And my eyes travelled to his lips!
And unknowingly to me, my fingers travelled to touch his lips but I was abruptly stopped by a voice.
"Take a picture Sunshine, it lasts longer" He said in a sluggish voice and I tried to move back just to stumble on my feet and fell directly on him.
"It's too late to lie Missus" He added and I opened my one eye and then both as I saw him holding me.
"I.. There was something on your face near your lips. I was just out of courtesy removing that" I defended myself clearly lying when he smirked removing the hairs strands coming on my face.
"Sure you were sunshine. I would like you to do that more often" He said which made me blush profusely
"And I would like to see you getting this red by my words" He added and I tried pushing him away..... Tried!
"Get away Rana sa. I need to go" I said but it almost came out as whisper.
"You're giving us a chance right" He asked and I looked at him.
Idiot man! If I wasn't giving this a chance then I won't be here, in your arms right now.
"Okay! Duly noted. But I'm not idiot" He said and I looked at him wide eyed.
Shit! I spoke it aloud!
"Yes, you did" He spoke and I shut my eyes tightly.
"Get away" I whined and he chuckled removing his hands.
As I stood up, I saw him to waking up and sitting on the couch now.
"You still have a way too long to win this all. Buck up Mr. Raghav Singh Rathore. I'm very high maintenance" I said and he looked at me.
"And, I like maintaing you Monica" He replied and I looked at him as I smiled
"You Have Seen Friends" I grinned and he chuckled and was going when I spoke.
"Raghav... " I called and he looked at me his eyes... Beaming happily.
"Yes Sunshine" He asked
"Merry Christmas" I wished and he looked at me coming near me and kissed my forehead.
Told you right, this is going to be my most favorite thing!
"Merry Christmas Sunshine" He wished back
"Okay, bye! " I added and went to the rest room.
After morning chores, I got ready in a shirt and joggers and covering myself with woolens, I went out.
And the staff bowed down at me.
Another thing which has started happening in these two months.
The whole staff bows down in front of me because I'm the queen.
And I'm still not habituated to it. It still feels very awkward.
"Good morning everyone and Merry Christmas" I wished as I saw everyone in living room.
"Good morning Janki and Merry Christmas to you too" Dad patted my cheek and I smiled
As everyone wished me, I looked at Megha who came with a big smile on her face.
"Where's dad" She asked
"He's coming. What's the matter Bai sa (daughter) " I asked
"I told dad that santa comes in night and completes the wish. He didn't agree but see, as I woke up, I found this near the stocking I kept for Santa" She grinned widely showing me the headphones and the bedtime story books.
And I looked at the male figure coming near by.
"Dad... See! My Santa proved you wrong. He came at night and completed my wish" She exclaimed to Raghav
"Okay! I loose. Santa is real! " He said sitting on his knees and kissed her cheeks
"Happy? " He asked and she nodded smiling widely.
"Mom, you could've also kept a stocking and asked Santa for something" She said to me and I looked at her smiling.
"I didn't know we have a Santa here Princess. Otherwise, I would've definitely asked him " I told and the Santa looked at us and his eyes held a question to which I smiled and went to the dining table.
"I see the winds getting in right direction finally " Nivedita bhabhi whispered in my ear and I looked at her.
"Sush" I giggled to which she smirked as we all took our places.
As we all had our breakfast, I saw Raghav stealing glances at me which I.. Royally ignored because that were clearly irritating him and I.. Loved that!!
After breakfast, I took Megha to the physio room and looked at her.
"So, it's three months ! Will you be able to do that" I asked
"I.. Don't know mom. I'm afraid" She whispered
"Afraid of what?" I asked
"Getting hurt" She replied and I looked at her as I remembered the conversation I and Rana sa had last night.
I said exactly same to him.
"I can't say what dad says, but I promise, I won't let you get hurt. Trust me" I said and she nodded
"Let's check the progress? " I asked and she nodded again.
Joining the wires to her legs and to the machine, I turned it on and looked at the monitor.
And after a minute as the progress graph came, I looked at her.
"What does it mean mom" She asked
"You're going to try removing your feet on your own today! Right now. Trust me you'll do it" I said as tear left my eye in happiness.
It was 59% and it was a very good progress.
"Sanjana.. " I spoke and she looked at me happily.
"Yes Raani sa" She came forward
"At her back for the posture okay. Megha, you'll hold my hands tightly and try moving your leg okay. It'll move. Trust me it'll" I determined and she nodded
And as said, she held my hand while Sanjana held her back.
"On the count of three. Three.. Two.. One.." I said and Megha looked at me.
"Right leg" I added and she nodded gulping down and tried to move the leg.
"It.. Isn't" She whispered
"It will. You feel sensations more profusely right. Just do it baby" I encouraged and she nodded closing her eyes and pushed her right leg away from the wheel chair.
And it shivered yet moved.
"Oh my God! Oh my God" She mumbled looking at me and I chuckled happily.
"Left leg, come on" I guided
"What if I fall" She asked
"But Oh Darling, what if you fly" I replied and she nodded slowly putting left leg out of the wheelchair.
"Hand at her back Sanjana" I guided her and she nodded doing the same.
"Comfortable sweetheart" I asked and Megha nodded
"I.. Want to stand like other kids" She said and I nodded
"Come on! A little! We can do it. " I encouraged and she nodded trying to stand up.
"My.. Legs are wobbling" She said
"Okay! Wait a second" I spoke and taking a physio band I put it around her calf muscles.
"Now try" I asked again holding her hands and she nodded.
And.. After four tries, she stood up!!
SHE STOOD UP!!
"Aahhhhh" I screamed in happiness jumping on my place and Sanjana too had tears in her eyes seeing my girl on her feet.
"Janki... " Faint voices came and then I saw everyone running to the room panicked.
"Janki are you al..." As Rana sa was speaking, his words died inside his mouth as he looked at Megha standing.
Not only him... Mom, dad, bhaiya, bhabhi everyone was utterly shocked.
"Santa has a gift for you" I whispered with a happy tear to everyone but especially my eyes were fixed at the pair of dark brown eyes who looked at me with range on emotions in them.
