The Oni and the Bats

The oni put down the empty mug feeling Zatz eyes on her every move, sure she was a loner but it was in her nature, but this to her was natural. Oni travel in packs of 3 or more but dragons stay in a tribe and follow the ruler, dragons and oni didn't seem to have that many difference's during the oni dragon war but apart from that the oni had destruction and the dragons had creation, one day a man of both was born and created the distant lands and banished the darkness to the island and it was never seen again. She was pulled out of her thoughts when Zatz poked her side, she jumped slightly in surprise and looked back at him seeing his puzzled expression "sorry, just not used to being touched" she said plainly, Zatz could understand that but why in such a small manner. He new so little about this girl and yet he already had so many questions about her life, her self, and ECT, she seemed like the type to be nocturnal because of her boring state of personality including her demonic traits like her father. "apatito de hueso!" General said and put down two plates of a strange type of flat food covered in a odd sticky substance."huh?" She said puzzled tilting her head at him "what is this weird, flat solid?" She asked, Zatz and his shared questioned looks before turning back to the oni "they're pancakes-" "-pancakes? Are they some sort of odd cake of the sort?" She asked tilting her head at the food."Don't you know what pancakes are?" Zatz asked and she shook her head
This was even odder to her since this was some sort of food she never heard of before, all of her drained energy was now focused on this newly discovered food I front of her studying the soft texture and could recognize the smell seeing the many flavors appear in her mind "vegetable oil, oh and a small tint of butter along with sugar, salt, batter and baking powder" she said making the two completely shocked and stunned how did she know?! They thought, onyx could see thier shocked faces and rised a brow at them "what?" "How did you do that?" They asked and that cought her off guard, she thought this was an ability every one had but might have came to the wrong conclusion but she's already seen this ability in action since she was raised by her father and his skeleton soldiers during the time he was still a warlord.
"This is an ability I have,strong sense of smell, can't you two do the same?" They shook thier heads, she should have known, her brother wasn't able to either but she thought it was because the ability came of age not blood but she just figured it was nothing "so oni's can smell ingredients?" She nodded and took a small bite of this newly discovered food and hummed in response "not bad" she said and could here the two chatting in the backround about something but she could feel a familiar presence loom around her making her enjoyable moment end.
