Nora's POV
I woke up and immediately saw that Newt wasn't lying next to me anymore. A little disappointed I got dressed and walked outside. All the Gladers were already doing their job as I walked over to the med-hut.
'There you are.' Clint looked at me and I frowned.
'It's one p.m.' Jeff added.
'One p.m?' I repeated. 'Why didn't anyone wake me up?'
The two boys shrugged and kept working.

At dinner, I joined Newt and Minho. I sat down across from them and looked at Newt.
'Why didn't you wake me up this morning?' I asked.
'Trust me, I tried.' Newt replied.
'You tried?' I repeated as I furrowed my brow. Minho let out a small chuckle. 'What?' I looked at him.
'You have interesting dreams.' He smirked.
'Interesting dreams- what?' I asked, not knowing what they meant. 'How do you know what happens in my dreams?'
'Well, you were kind of talking in your sleep, so..' Minho smiled and I felt my cheeks get red.
'I didn't say anything weird, right?' I immediately asked.
'Not really,' Newt laughed.
'You called me a mean hoe, said the Grievers were pink with horns, and called them Grievicorns.' Minho blurted out.
'Grievicorns?' I repeated. 'Oh god.' I buried my head in my hands in embarrassment.
Suddenly we heard some shouts coming from the wooden tower. I looked up and saw several boys standing in front of it. Quickly me, Minho, and Newt got up and ran over to the boys.
'Chuck, what's happening?' I looked at my cousin, who stood next to Thomas.
'Girls are awesome!' He laughed and pointed at the tower.
Multiple things, like fruits, were being thrown down to the boy's heads.
'Hey! Throw one more of those things and I'll- ow!' Gally got hit by an apple.
'I said leave me alone!' I heard a feminine voice yell.
'Take cover y'all! Take cover!' Boys hid under wooden things.
'I don't think she likes us very much.' Newt held his hand above his head, in case he would get hit.
'It's Thomas! It's Thomas!' Thomas yelled. I saw the girl leaning over the edge and looking at Thomas. 'I'm coming up okay?' He looked at Gally. 'Just me.'
Gally looked offended as Thomas started climbing up the ladder.
'I'm gonna go to bed.' Somehow I was still a little tired, even though I slept long.
'Okay. Goodnight, love.' Newt hugged me before I walked away.

The next morning I sat down in the med-hut. Logan got himself a cut, again.
'How's Alby doing?' He asked as I cleaned the cut.
'I don't know.' Jeff answered.
Logan didn't respond and looked at the cut, which was almost treated. Automatically I started tapping with my foot. I was anxious and didn't exactly know why. Though, I could think of a reason. I hadn't cut myself in a few days and that was good, but it made me tense. Multiple emotions had balled up in my stomach and I craved for relief. I had promised Newt to come to him again when I felt like doing it, but this time it felt like even Newt's comfort wouldn't even help.
'You okay?' Somehow Logan always noticed when something was wrong.
'Yes.' I replied, maybe too quickly.
Logan didn't say anything else and looked at his bandaged hand. 'Looks good.'
'Thanks. But be more careful, I lost count of how many times you came in here.' I let out a small, but fake chuckle.
'Alright. I'll see you later.' Logan said goodbye and walked away.
'We need to give Alby some soup again.' Clint said. 'Do you want to do it?' He looked at me.
'Okay.' I got up and walked to Alby's bed. He looked just the same as the other day and was still tied to the bed.
I grabbed a bowl filled with soup and put some of it on a spoon. Slowly I moved it to Alby's open mouth and poured it in. He swallowed all of it and I repeated it. When I moved to his mouth for the third time, his eyes suddenly shot open. I flinched and let the spoon and bowl fall onto the ground. The glass bowl broke into pieces.
Alby had one free hand which he grabbed my arm with. 'You did this!' He yelled. Spit came out of his mouth. 'It's your fault!'
Clint and Jeff grabbed Alby and pressed him down onto the bed again. Shocked I looked at the horrible image. Alby was screaming and tried to fight the two Med-jacks. After a few seconds, Clint stabbed Alby with a syringe. The guy's breaths got steadier and he closed his eyes again. Still shocked I looked at all the damage I did. Pieces of glass were all over the floor.
'I'm sor- I didn't mean to do that. Sorry. I just flinched because of Alby and then-and then the bowl fell out of my hand and-'
'Nora.' Jeff interrupted. 'It's fine.' He lay his hand down on my shoulder, which made me flinch again. What the hell was wrong with me? An image of Adam flashed through my mind. Stop.
Jeff's mouth slightly dropped open and he quickly let go of me. 'Let's get lunch.' He glanced at Clint and motioned for me to walk out of the med-hut. Still a little overwhelmed by everything that just happened I got some food. Jeff told me to join them, so I did.
After lunch, we walked back to the med-hut and I sat down on a chair. Anxious I bit my lip and looked around for something to do, so I would be distracted. I noticed some bottles standing out of order, so I started ordering them. When I picked up the last bottle, I suddenly felt two hands on my shoulders. I flinched again and the bottle fell onto the ground, breaking into pieces. With shaking hands, I turned around and saw Newt's face.
'Woah. You okay?' He asked worriedly.
'Yes.' My voice cracked. 'You scared me.' I laughed it off.
'Sorry,' Newt let out a small chuckle. I bend down and started picking up the glass on the floor and throwing it in the trash can.
'What are you doing here?' I asked Newt when I was done.
'Just wanted to see you. I didn't see you at lunch.'
'Oh, I was with Clint and Jeff.' I sat down on a chair.
'Alright.' Newt responded. 'We're having a gathering tomorrow because of you and Thomas.'
I nodded. 'Okay.'
'I better go now. Got some work to do.' Newt said goodbye and left.
After a while, Clint spoke. 'It's time for dinner.'
'Okay. Let's go.' Clint and Jeff walked out of the med-hut and I wanted to follow them but got distracted by Alby. Some mumbles escaped from his mouth and I wondered what he was saying.
'Alby?' I got closer to him. His eyes opened, but this time slower.
'It's your fault.' He looked at me with bloodshot eyes.
'What?'
'It's all your fault.'
'What is my fault?' I frowned.
'Everything.'
I knew Alby was half out of his mind, but his words still hurt.
'I'm sorry, Alby.' I quietly said. I felt sorry for everything that happened to him. He didn't deserve to lie there like that. No one did.
I walked to my hut with tears in my eyes. After putting a chair in front of the door to block it, I immediately, without thinking for a second, looked for the knife. I looked through all my stuff, every drawer, in my closet, but I couldn't find it. Stressed I sat down against the wall and felt tears form in my eyes. Then my eyes caught something under my bed. The knife was lying there.
Quickly, with no hesitation, I grabbed it and trailed it down my wrist. The pain felt so good. I had missed doing it. I watched as the red blood flew out of the cut and drop onto the floor. Tears streamed down my face as I made another cut. And another. And another.
I made the fifth cut even deeper. Slowly I moved it over my whole wrist, which was covered in blood already. I winced but smiled when I removed the knife from my wrist again. A small pool of blood was on the ground already. I made even more cuts, more than I usually did. Fast, but deep ones. Every emotion that had crept up inside me the last few days went away. All of them.
With a sigh of relief, I put the knife down on the ground and looked at my wrist. Blood was everywhere and it all dripped off my wrist, onto the floor. More and more blood appeared and it never stopped. There was a pool of blood on the floor.
Then I realized what I had done. I made too deep cuts, way too deep. The vision was horrible. Red stains were on my pants and shirt as blood flowed out of the wounds. Some black dots appeared in my vision and I tried to keep my eyes open.
I heard a few footsteps and voices from outside, but couldn't exactly make out what they were saying.
'Nora, open the door!' Someone yelled. I heard some more yells, but everything around me blurred. Slowly my eyes closed and my vision went black.
