The tunnel narrowed further as Indy moved carefully through it. He'd thought this would be an easy walk, but as the floor inclined into ice, his boots skidded out from under him. He grabbed hold of one of the walls and felt the entire ruin shift.
"Uncle Indy?"
"Yes, Seal Child?"
Both their voices echoed.
"There were more of the weird thumps. Do you think the giant is waking up?"
A whumping echo poured dirt and dust in front of Indy's next steps. He winced. "Giants don't wake up, Seal Child. Legends aren't supposed to be real."
Indy faced the ancient corpse, reaching for the swords.
"Then why'd you ask me about 'em?"
Indy dropped his hands as a shudder struck him. "Seal Child..." Indy sighed, regaining his composure.
"What?"
"I'm gonna take the swords now. Quiet. This is dangerous part."
"Ok."
Indy glanced back and saw his hat bobbing around silhouetted in the flashlight as the small child reached toward the ceiling making finger puppet animals. He smiled, turned his attention back to the mummified corpse and wiped the sweat from his hands on his trousers.
The corpse stared down at Indy. It was at least a head and shoulders taller than him, with an oddly shaped face. The skull was narrower than a human's and oddly triangular - almost - Almost like -
Indy dropped his hands again. "Snakes. That cobra from the Well of the Souls. I did not need this today. Get the swords get out."
There was another thump.
Indy steadied his hands, grasping the cool hilt of the ancient sword. There were two, one slightly above him slicing across the creature's neck and the other had been thrust under the rib cage, probably stabbing the heart and lungs. He gripped both swords and started to pull, careful and certain that there were traps somewhere.
"Uh-oh."
Indy froze. "Seal Child...? Uh-oh is not what I want to hear right now."
"Sorry!"
There was a pause. Indy eased the swords further.
"Uncle Indy!"
The first sword clattered at Indy's feet. "Sheesh, kid! What?"
"I remembered something..."
"Okay." Indy bent down to pick up the fallen sword, still holding the second one in.
"The old legends say that two shaman ladies were sent to kill a giant. And they had special swords with special powers. And they got buried with the giant, cause they were both hurt really bad after fighting with it."
"And?" Indy was easing the second sword from under the corpse's rib cage.
"An' they left the swords in the giant - because the giant couldn't die. And whoever opened the tomb an' took the swords would be in big trouble. Cause the giant wasn't actually dead. And the first person to take the swords out - would be tied to them without hope."
There was the strange pinging noise as the second sword's blade hit the ground. Indy stared up at the giant... and thought he saw it move.
The mound was hit again.
Indy scrambled up through the icy tunnel, a sword in each hand. Seal Child jumped up and down, clapping his little hands.
A shadow filled the entryway.
Seal Child bolted for Indy. Indy held each of the swords, ready to fight.
Sliding into the chamber covered with mud, American soldier Ross scrambled to his feet, eyes wild and frantic. "I've been calling you for five minutes! The Japanese have invaded the island!"
