Dante fell beside Kol on the sandy cave, breathing hard.

"I didn't know you could do the thing with the thing." He made looping measures with his fingers, smirking at Kol. "Thank you."

Kol leaned against a boulder, draping the fur coat over his naked body. "I will not be bedding you again." He snapped his eyes open towards Dante. "Why didn't you tell us you were the godsent?"

Dante bit a nail from his left finger, cutting off more nails until it was short. "I don't talk about it." He turned towards Kol, allowing the breeze trotting in to dry the sweat on his body.

Kol draped Dante with his fur coat.

"But you told us?" Kol twisted the wedding band on his fingers. "Who is your father?"

"Khaos." Dante raised a brow. The bellows of the dragon playing with Davina filled his ears. Even with the flapping wing of another dragon. A bigger dragon. He knew Davina was safe as long as the dragonling played with her.

"Khaos, as in The Khaos?" Kol sputtered.

"Yes."

"Tell me about your mother." Kol turned to his side to get a better view of Dante. To assess him better. To study him better.

"She was cunning and fierce and ruthless and she was my mother," Dante became quiet. More so than Kol had ever seen. "I will reclaim my throne and burn them all to the ground."

The light in Dante's eyes darkened. This wasn't the words of a son but the promise of a king. A future king.

"Then why are you here?"

"I need allies. armies. I don't have the numbers."

"You're a godsent. You burned her monsters without speaking," Kol nudged Dante. "Aren't you people meant to be Numens of the new dawn?"

A flash of white pearls. Of something devious. Of a monster who loves playing with his food before devouring his prey. Kol recognized that smile.

"We're not that up in the food chain. But yes, The Numens created Godsents to rule the next dawn. We will be the Numens of A new dawn. A new species. A new blessing. And more suffering." Dante glanced down at the fur coat keeping him warm, though he didn't need it. It felt intimate. More so than the intimate moment he shared with Kol.

Kol hummed. "At the birth of a Godsent, a universe is born. So tell me, what universe was born at your birth?"

"At the birth of a godsent, there's a great boom which causes great pain." Dante shrugged his shoulders. "I've never been there. But it's in the new dawn. I see it in my dreams. My throne in a new world. I will ascend and take everyone with me." The dream flickered in his rose-gold eyes, taking shape.

"That sounds amazing to hear, Dante." Kol murmured, closing his eyes.

"Kol."

"Hmm."

"Will you come with me? You and Davina?"

Kol opened his eyes. "You did promise to take us somewhere."

"I know. But to the new dawn. When I ascend to the new beginning." Dante raised his head, breathing through his mouth. He inched closer to Kol, placing his head on Kol's chest. "Your heart calms me down. I always listen to it."

"I will," Kol gazed down at Dante.

The Godsent sleeping on his chest seemed so different than the one he watched gut down those monsters and burn Augusta to ash.

This was peace.

"Sleep, Dante. Sleep."

\----                              ☀︎

When Dante woke up mere minutes later, so he thought. Kol and Davina informed him it was night.

The blue night sky of Cyrsae glistened with sleeping stars moving sluggishly, Even the êirf dragons had flown to wherever they slept.

It pained Davina to say goodbye to the dragonling and her mother who stayed close by to watch with sharp eyes.

"We leave now." Dante glanced at the egg and his hatchlings perched in Kols' arms. "I want them in the water."

Dante waved his hands together, twisting it like a ball. Golden energy crackled around his palms, summoning wind that almost knocked him back. It whirls wider, smelling of lavender and burning flame on wood.

The gold energy thrummed against his hand, turning into the êirf. It widened, revealing the insides of Rzej's penthouse lounge.

Dante walked in, followed by Kol and Davina. "Honey, I'm home." Dante's Cyrsaen accent meandered like a pretty flower. He stepped into the empty lounge of his brother's penthouse and sighed.

"Dante." Gisela walked into the lounge. She stopped in sight of the egg, gasping. "Are those baby gators?"

"Mine." Dante told his twin with a shit-eating grin on his face.

"I can see that. They have your attitude." Gisela smiled at Davina. "You must be Davina." She held out a hand to the Claire witch. Davina gave an unsaying smile.

"I am. You're Gisela right, Dante's twin?"

"I am. come let's get you cleaned up." Gisela led Davina away, leaving Kol and Dante alone.

"I'll be taking this to the locker room and my hatchlings to mine." Dante took the egg from Kol. "You are welcome to join me for a bath." He smirked.

Kol glanced at his dirty outfit and made a face. "Only a bath."

"Sure. If you say so."

----

Dante spent the next few hours watching the hatchlings swim in the egg-shaped bathtub of his en-suite.

His jaw rested on the edge of the tub, a shimmering light twisted in his eyes. Something he's only felt once.

Unconditional love.

"Look at them go," He coed at Kol who sat on the floor beside Dante.

Kol raised his head, shifting closer to the tub. The hatchlings moved around each other, as though they were communicating. One red scale splashed its tail. Kol wasn't sure if it was a male or female.

"The reds are males. The purple are females." Dante pointed to the purple and red-scaled alligator hatchlings.

"How do you know?"

"It's basic Cyrsaen facts, Kol Mikaelson." Dante flashed a perfect grin.

The chirping of the hatchlings to each other brightened the spark in Dante's rose-gold eyes.

He poked a finger into the tub of water he made into a little river with branches of trees and soft shells for them to crawl around.

"Have you thought of names?" Kol watched the smile on Dante's face brighten.

Dante's question resurfaced in his mind. "About your offer?"

He began to Dante who hadn't stopped cooing when two of the hatchlings crawled on his forefinger, gripping on for dear life.

"I haven't yet. I'm tempted to go with Dante number one to fifty," Dante caressed the head of a female hatching with gentle care.

Kol could still remember the way he gutted those monsters as though they were toys he was playing with. For his thousand years of living as an original vampire and all the gruesome pain and suffering he's caused. Dante made him look like a child playing games.

There was one thing Kol Mikaelson was sure of. He did not want to witness Dante becoming berserk.

"What about my offer?" Dante tilted his neck to get a good look at Kol.

"About giving Davina and me a chance to be parents?" Kol bit the inside of his cheeks, chewing on it until a gnawing pain slapped his cheeks.

"My offer is still up, but I want to take you and Davina on a trip first to Bellum megaverse. It's in the Orynn constellations near Nava. A group of vampire eidolons reside there." Dante wrinkled his fingers into the water, creating spirals of wind blowing some hatchlings into careful circles.

They ran to his fingers, chirping and gripping. Then he did it again and they ran back down, spreading their limps as the wind whirled them into whatever heaven they found comforting.

"I've heard of there. You're taking us to the celestial world?"

Dante nodded.

"They have children?"

"Yes. They have children."

"Their blood?"

"Yes, Kol. Their blood."

Dante beamed when the hatchlings chirped. "It'll be after this. If you survive."

"What makes you so sure you will?"

A flash of deadly smirk. "I'm protected by Maalefi'Navl. Even The Demon Head wouldn't risk the wrath of his quadruplet brother."

Something pounded in Kol's head trying to make sense of Dante's words until it clicked.

"He is—"

Dante nodded again. "I say he hates me because that's what he wants me to believe. He thought the child would be a distraction to my goal. maybe she would have been. But it set me on a path to getting back what's mine. Not for me. For her. I want my daughter and heir to rule The Black Garden."

Kol smiled. "Did you not say the crown chooses?"

"I'll make the crown choose her or I'll burn it to the fucking ground." Dante pulled his hand from the water, turning to Kol. "I'll leave them for the moment. I'm starving. Come on."

Kol followed Dante out of the ensuite bathroom and into the bedroom. "Thank you for allowing me to use your bath and the spare clothes." He nodded to the leather cargo pants and black shirt. Dante didn't have any other outfit other than leather.

"You're welcome. You should wear my clothes more often."

"You make it sound like this will happen again."

A wild breeze eased into the room, brushing up against Kols's cheeks like a hand. He knew that touch. "Dante, don't do that."

"Do what?"

"Make me fall in love with you."

"We just met Kol," Dante opened the door. "It wouldn't be too soon either way. Us Morgenstern-Blackthornes have a way with fast-paced love."

"This isn't a romance book. And there's the matter of Davina." Kol bit the inside of his cheeks again.

He followed Dante down the spiral stairs leading to the lounge where Gisela and Davina were talking.

"Oh, don't worry about Davina. I'm sure the dragons and my new proposal will have her falling in love with me sooner than she can blink." He gave Kol a cheeky smile.

When they reached the lounge, Davina locked eyes with Dante, her red cheeks forced her to glance away.

With a shrug, Dante leaned to Kol. "It's already working." He winked.

"What's working?" Davina tore her gaze back to Dante and her husband. Gisela strutted to her twin and patted his shoulder.

"Don't break their hearts."

"Never."
