Prologue 3: The Ultimate Introduction 1

I wandered over to someone standing by themselves. I smiled, waving to them. But they seemed to be staring off into space, very seriously at that. And he stood as still as a statue.

"Um... hello?" I said, accidentally getting myself into a shy stature.

"Hello! How are you?" He asked. Still, not looking at me. He just seemed to be staring off into space. I paused, turning around to follow his gaze. But I didn't see anything. I turned back around.

"Um, what are you doing?" I replied.

"I'm making eye contact! I've heard it's good for introducing yourself!" He replied. I stared for another moment.

"Um, you're actually staring off into space. You have to look into my eyes if you want to do that." I responded. He didn't say anything, continuing to stare off. Then, he lost his posture, slouching his back and taking a deep sigh, sadly scratching the back of his head.

"I see. I'm sorry. I'm not as in tune as other people." He replied. I gave him a slight smile.

"Th- that's okay. I'm really shy as well, so it's okay." I responded. He nodded, putting his hand out and giving a nervous grin. I took his hand, and shook it slightly.

"Um, so who are you?" I asked. Almost immediately, his eyes went wide. He pulled his hand away, and quickly fixed his posture, losing eye contact.

"I am Shishido Kyo, the Ultimate Soldier!" He yelled out, almost as if he was giving orders.

Shishido Kyo
Ultimate: Soldier
Age: 19
Birthday: May 2nd
Height: 6'4
Weight: 134
Likes: Soft Blankets, Strawberry Milkshakes
Dislikes: Explosives, Geese
Description: Shishido Kyo, the Ultimate Soldier is actually a big softy. Aw, how cute! But he's very out of touch with everything. Sarcasm goes over his head, and social cues are out the window.
In his free time, Shishido likes to go on long walks around anywhere that seems nice. Though he may seem calm, he does act very outwardly spoken and likes to yell. A lot. You should probably cover your ears around him.

"Oh, it's nice to meet you." I said. "You don't have to be so formal though. I don't mind." He stared off into space for a moment, before taking a deep sigh.

"Really? That's okay?" He asked. I nodded, and he gave a nervous smile. "O- okay, I'll see you around?"

"Yeah, I'll see you around." I said. I waved goodbye to him as I walked away.

That was a nice interaction. I'd heard a lot about him before. Apparently, he was the first trainee permitted to use guns. It's said that he's one every training against all of his colleagues, despite being younger than them. At least, that's what the threads online said.

"Helloooooo!" Someone said, waving their hand in my face. I quickly jumped back, putting my arms up in a panic. "Jeez, you sure are jumpy. Sorry if I interrupted your thoughts or something, I just wanted to get to know you."

"O- oh yeah... s- sorry, I was just thinking about s- something." I replied. She nodded with big motions.

"Yeah yeah, I understand. Sometimes I do the same thing! But usually I get left on auto pilot instead of completely frozen." She laughed to herself after that, almost as if she'd made a really funny joke.

"Anyway, what's your name? And your special talent?" She asked. I paused for a second, trying to think of something cool to introduce myself with.

"Yeah! I'm the U- Ultimate Tutor, Hirano Rei, m- maybe you've heard of m- me before? I- I'm pretty c- cool." I said. Almost immediately, my face turned a bright pink. "A- as long as you think it's cool, th- that's fine! I- I was lying about what I s- said before, I don't think it's a- all that s-special..." I tried to cover my red face, in an attempt to at least save myself a little bit of embarrassment.

Suddenly, an uproar of laughter appeared. I slightly moved my finger to see her nearly cackling to herself. She wiped a couple of tears off of herself, as she tried her best to calm down. I should've expected this reaction. And all I could do was stand there all embarrassed about what I had done. She planted a single hand on my shoulder.

"Listen man, you don't have to try so hard to impress me or anyone else. Just act like the person you are. If someone judges you for that, who cares? They're idiots anyway!" She said. I paused, nodding.

"Thank you..." I said. She nodded.

"Oh wait, I forgot, I gotta introduce myself!" She laughed. She took her hand off my shoulder and stepped back a bit. "My name is Morita Yoshie, the Ultimate Hockey Pro! I think we could be great friends! And not many people get that title, so hold it with pride!"

Morita Yoshie
Ultimate: Hockey Pro
Age: 18
Birthday: March 25
Height: 5'4
Weight: 121
Likes: Competition, Almonds
Dislikes: Jewelry, Whipped Cream
Description: Morita Yoshie is a fiery young girl with an empowering spirit. She loves teasing others, but don't let that fool you. She hates when things aren't fair, and when people treat others without respect.
Morita spends her free time making jokes with her friends, and playing sports or other games. But she's also good to just chill and hang out with people around her.

"Oh, you play hockey?" I asked. She nodded.

"Yep! What, does my talent just have nothing to do with me?" She laughed. I smiled weakly.

"Well, I'm just not very good with the cold. The fact that you can do that is pretty cool." I said. She paused, shaking her head back and fourth, snickering a bit as she did.

"It's not a matter of being cold or warm, it's mostly the adrenaline and equipment that keeps me from freezing." She said. "But hockey isn't all of that. It's also about the thrill and the rush of it all. Being able to hit that puck directly into the net, and hearing the siren go off is like a dream come true, and the skating is a lot of fun to! Man, I can't wait to get back on the ice!"

"That's pretty cool. But, I don't even know how to skate in the first place, so can't help but congratulate you on that aspect alone." I replied. Suddenly, her eyes lit up.

"Wait, really!? You don't know how to skate!? Could I teach you!?" She yelled, enthusiastically.

"Oh, um, y- yeah, that's okay with me." I replied. She started punching the air, smiling to herself and cheering.

"Yes! I've always wanted to do that! Alright, as soon as we get out of here, we're gonna get on the ice and teach you some moves! I'll see you around!" She said, enthusiastically, walking away.

Morita Yoshie. She's a pro hockey player with lots of fans. Her attitude and high spirits have made many people attached to her style of playing and her sports team, known as "The Flying Daggers". She's played in championship games and has never lost a single game, and only missed a single shot with a puck. Her skills haven't been rivaled by anyone except her teammates, and even they can't match her in the pro games. But even with her confidence on the ice, she's still got amazing sportsmanship. Maybe that's why she has so many fans.

I turned to see someone who looked very small. Almost as if they were actually just a child, and not a teenager. Confused, I wandered over to them. They seemed to be lost deep in thought, their hands stuffed inside their hoodie.

"Um, hello?" I said, standing in front of them. They made eye contact with me, and smiled.

"Hello! Would you like some gum?" They asked. He took out a small think of gum, and raised it up to me. I smiled.

"Thank you." I reached my hand over, and pulled on the single piece. Suddenly, my finger was snapped by something. I yelped out, pulling my hand back. He let out an uproar of laughter, that quickly turned into an evil cackle. Suddenly, a hand bopped him on the head, making him stop his sudden villain ark.

"Calm your senseless laughter." He said, his voice raspy and quiet, but still clear and demanding. I didn't even realize that he was there for a moment. Did he just show up? Or did I just not see him before. "I'm sorry about his nonsense. Here, this should help your wound." He pulled a small box out of his pocket, and opened it. He pulled out two disinfectant wipes, and handed it to me.

"Oh, um, thanks." I put one on the small cut the mouse trap had made, trying my best to ease the pain. I put the other in my pocket for later.

"Don't mention it. He should be apologizing to you, young lady." He said, looking to the small boy, who was holding his head.

"HEY! What was that for!?" He yelled, defiantly glaring at the guy who'd hit him.

"It was to stop your horribly pointless laughter. Plus, you've got to apologize to this young lady for your actions." He replied.

"What!? Of course I'm not gonna do that!" He pouted.

"Hey, it's o- okay, I don't m- mind-" I began.

"I'll take away your little mouse trap if you don't." He interrupted.

"What!? Come on! You can't do that!" He yelled back. The two stared into each others eyes, before he reluctantly turned to me. "Fine... I'm sorry." He said.

"Um, it's f- fine. I'm H- Hirano Rei, the Ultimate T- Tutor. What's your n- name and talent?" I asked. He looked back up at him again, before turning to me.

"Heh heh heh, why don't you guess?" He said, laughing mischievously

"Well, I'd f- feel bad if I d- didn't get it right-"

"He's the Ultimate Critic, Sugai Tatsuo." The other guy said.

Sugai Tatsuo
Ultimate: Critic
Age: 15
Birthday: April 14th
Height: 4'10
Weight: 92
Likes: Rubber Snakes, White Chocolate
Dislikes: Canned Beans, Monotone Colors
Description: Sugai Tatsuo, a chaotic ball of energy, can't seem to stay still. Well, unless they're thinking about their next little scheme. Don't let his small and chaotic nature get you, he is very well known in the critic community, with his critical opinions being highly stressed about for many restaurant owners.
His favorite past times are making fun of peoples dishes and coming up with whatever prank comes to mind. Sometimes his free time is spent actually carrying out these stupid ideas, that usually works. Some say he could get away with murder.
Sugai has complained about his Ultimate talent for awhile. He proclaims "The whole critic thing is stupid. Can you have the decency to at least make me The Ultimate Prankster!?" We declined his offer though.

"HEY! YOU DON'T JUST SAY THAT!!!" He whined.

"Why not? She didn't want to guess, and she wouldn't have gotten it anyway." He said.

"That's the point! She's not supposed to get it!" He yelled.

"Well, that doesn't matter now, does it." He replied. Sugai angrily grabbed onto his head, before gaining a mischievous smile on his face.

"Well, I'll just have to reveal your talent to her instead!" He took a deep breath, preparing to say his talent, before the guy put a hand over his mouth, stopping his speech.

"I am Kajiwara Hotaka, the Ultimate Surgeon."

Kajiwara Hotaka
Ultimate: Surgeon
Age: 18
Birthday: December 22
Height: 6'2
Weight: 131
Likes: Milk Foam, Crackling Fires
Dislikes: Loud Noises, Wood Chips
Description: Kajiwara Hotaka is a soft spoken person, but don't let that put you in a false sense of security. He'll still be giving orders or putting people in their place. Of course, he'd never take a leadership position, but he'll make sure the group stays together.
In his free time, he enjoys reading a book or doing other calming activities. People think that this helps him perform tasks with little stress, such as surgery. It's also said that he's very calm under pressure.
Many people have fallen in love with his serious and calm demeanor. Others just like his striking good looks. But be careful, because he doesn't care for senseless feelings. Or, at least that's what he says to the public.

"HEY!!!" Sugai yelled, angrily stomping. "YOU CAN'T JUST DO THAT!!!" He pouted.

"I just did. Maybe if you weren't so bratty, then I would've allowed you to, but your apologies and threat's don't have anything behind them." Kajiwara replied.

"I- I-" Sugai began, almost taken aback. He couldn't come up with anything else to say. Quickly, he turned to me and signaled for me to put my ear to his mouth. "Listen, we're gonna prank him sometime, okay?"

"Um, I don't really kn- know about that..." I replied.

"I heard that." Kajiwara said. Sugai screamed, before running away. He sighed, turning to me.

"Here, take this. It was nice getting to know you, but I must retrieve the little one before he causes more chaos." He explained, handing me a bandaid from the little box before sprinting after him.

Sugai Tatsuo is apparently the son of two extremely famous and rich parents, both being critics and owning their own food companies. His opinions have taken the world by storm, with many saying that he has the perfect taste buds because of the genetics from his parents. Whoever impresses him will have their restaurant set for life, and whoever doesn't has their company driven to ruin. Apparently, he's made it clear that he wanted to be the Ultimate Prankster, but the critic background made Yuutsumi give him that title.

And Kajiwara Hotaka. He's performed every kind of surgery there is, with his hardest case being a brain tumor removal. He was able to complete this in under three hours, which is an accomplishment in itself. He's risen to fame because of the people he's saved, but he doesn't really care for the awards or the praise. There were so many threads online that I almost saved him for the last person on my list.

I paused, trying to figure out how I should talk to. I saw someone sitting down on a bench, staring intently at something. I didn't want to interrupt, but it's important to introduce yourself to everyone here.

"Hello..." I said, waving to the girl. She sat up straight, nearly jumping back in her seat.

"Oh shit!" She screamed, before covering her mouth. "Oh my god, I'm sorry for my language! I- I just wasn't expecting s- someone to interrupt my book..."

"Oh, I'm sorry..." I said, putting both of my hands together.

"Oh there's n- no need! I sh- shouldn't have u- used such foul l- language." She explained. I laughed a bit.

"No, it's okay. I don't care how you speak." I said, smiling. Her face turned pink from embarrassment, before laughing a bit.

"I- I see, thank you." She replied. "S- so, who are you?"

"Oh, I'm Hirano Rei. Um, my talent i- is the Ultimate Tutor." I said. She smiled, and nodded.

"Does that mean you've read lots of books!?" She asked, her eyes lighting up. I laughed nervously.

"Um, yeah, I guess." I responded. She giggled to herself.

"What do you read!? Science fiction? Fantasy? Murder mystery? Horror? Realistic fiction!?" She asked, sending question after question my way, standing up and nearly jumping with joy.

"Um, I mostly read nonfiction." I replied. She lost her smile, and the color drained from her face.

"Ah... I see... fuck... never mind..." she said, disappointedly sitting back down on the bench.

"Um, I can r- read other books though! I've just k- kind of only had interest in learning books, y- you know?" I replied. She nodded slightly.

"So, you'd read books if I recommended them to you?" She asked. I nodded. Almost immediately, she pulled a pen from her pocket and a small little booklet. She quickly wrote some things down, before handing the piece of paper to me. "This is the best I can do since you read more nonfiction than fiction, but I think this'll get you invested!" I scanned the page, before stuffing it into my pocket.

"Um, so what's your name?" I asked. Her eyes went wide, as she realized the question I'd asked. She cleared her throat a bit.

"Ah, so, I, m- my name is Furuya Saki, the Ultimate Librarian. I- I hope you like the books I recommended."

Furuya Saki
Ultimate: Librarian
Age: 17
Birthday: August 30
Height: 6'1
Weight: 122
Likes: Fiction Novels, Greek Salad
Dislikes: Crocodiles, Cramped Spaces
Description: Furuya Saki is a shy girl, but that doesn't mean that she can't be talkative. When she talks about novels, she can't help but talk fast and act obsessive. Books her one and only passion, so talking about anything will either make her lose interest, or she'll just be shy while she talks about it. And even though she's shy, don't let that be said for her foul mouth. Swearing is a common practice for her, even though she's pretty much silent.
Furuya Saki's favorite past times are reading fiction novel's exclusively and making things based off of instruction manuals. If you interrupt her focus on a book or topic, she'll most likely become clumsy or freak out by the sudden shock.

"Oh, that makes sense." I said. She stared, almost confused.

"What does that mean?" She asked. I nervously laughed in response, scratching the back of my neck.

"Oh, um, I mean, you were talking a- a lot about books! S- so I thought it made sense that your talent involved that..." I explained, almost embarrassed that I said something like that.

"Um, yeah, I guess that makes sense." She said, her eyes closed with a bit of sweat running down her face. "Shit, what's wrong with me today..." she mumbled under her breath.

"What is it? What's wrong?" I asked. Her face turned pink.

"Fuck, you heard that!? Shit, sorry about the swearing!" She proceeded to apologize over and over again, constantly saying swear words along with her apologies, which made it repeat over and over again. I think my vocabulary expanded in a bit today. "Ugh... just... I'll talk to you later... I need some time to calm down..." I nodded, walking away as I waved goodbye.

Well, that was interesting. Furuya Saki, the Ultimate Librarian. Apparently, she's read every single fiction book imaginable, or at least that's the rumor. She loved books so much that she applied to be a librarian, where she was able to recommend books that she'd read to more people. Many people have found their favorite books because of her.

I pulled the piece of paper out of my pocket. If that's true, then maybe I'll find a really good book here. Of course, there's no way of knowing, but it was worth a shot.

I looked around, seeing someone standing by themselves staring at the wall. She tapped her foot angrily, as I approached her. With her arms crossed, she turned and looked at me, glaring into my eyes.

"What is it?" She asked. I paused, chuckling a bit from embarrassment.

"Um, I was just wanted to-" I began, before she quickly interrupted.

"Whatever, listen, don't you think it's absolutely outrageous that these people are keeping us trapped here? This is kidnapping! When I get out of here, I'm going to make a complaint to the headmaster. This CANNOT be allowed!" She complained. I stared at the wall with her, as she approached, putting a single finger to it. Suddenly, she jumped back. "THE HELL!?"

"What happened?" I asked. She stepped back from the wall, eyes filled with fury, as she held her hand in her palm.

"IT JUST ELECTROCUTED ME!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!" She screamed. She quickly looked to the camera on the wall. "HOW DARE YOU!!! YOU CAN'T DO THIS!!! THERE ARE LAWS, YOU KNOW!?"

"Hey, l- let's calm down a bit, okay?" I said. She growled, glaring at me.

"How am I supposed to calm down!? It hurts like hell!" She yelled. I paused, pulling something from my pocket and opening it, placing it on her finger. She stared at it, almost confused.

"What is it?" She asked. I paused, laughing a bit nervously.

"It's a disinfectant wipe. I know it sounds stupid since the wound isn't external, but that's all I really have..." I replied. She stared for another moment, pulling the wipe out of my hand, and leaving it on her finger. She continued to look at it for a little while longer, before looking to me.

"Whatever, so who are you exactly?" She asked.

"Oh, I'm Hirano Rei. Th- the Ultimate Tutor." I said. She glared for another moment, looking me up and down.

"Uh huh. Why are you stuttering with every word?" She said, harshly criticizing me.

"Um, I- I don't know... I'm j- just a bit shy I g- guess." I said, scratching the back of my neck. She groaned, making direct eye contact with me.

"Listen, no one's gonna want to talk to you unless you are clear and concise with what you want, got it!?" She replied, angrily slating into my eyes.

"Oh..." I began, a bit of tears appearing in my eyes. I need to stop. I gotta be more confident in myself.

"Ugh..." she began, before pulling out a tissue. "Here." I took it from her hand, sniffling before wiping the tears from my eyes.

"I guess..." she took a long sigh. "I should probably introduce myself. You've probably heard of me though." She said, taking the disinfectant wipe off of her finger. "I'm Imamura Mitsuri, the Ultimate Activist. I'm gonna change the world, so don't forget it."

Imamura Mitsuri
Ultimate: Activist
Age: 17
Birthday: February 2
Height: 5'8
Weight: 124
Likes: Protesting, Edamame
Dislikes: Hierarchy, Animal Products
Description: Imamura Mitsuri is a tough girl, not letting anyone get away scot-free. If there's something wrong with the world, she will not hold back. Which is pretty annoying at times, but her goal of changing the world has never taken a backseat.
Imamura likes to spend her free time sleeping or preparing herself for the next protest, because the only times she has free time is at night and before she has to participate in activism. She's always on the move to make sure that our world changes. If she has any free time, she might go nuts. Good luck.

"Oh yeah, I have heard of you before." I said. Well, technically I've heard of everyone here, but she's always in the news, so even before that I knew about her.

"Yeah, I'm pretty well known." She said, almost bragging. "Hey, so you're a tutor or whatever. Does that mean you teach people things?" I paused, nodding. "So you're basically an activist, without the whole working to save the world part. That's pretty disappointing. Have you even been to a protest!?"

"Um, yeah, I have, I- I guess." I replied. She took a long sigh.

"Don't lie to me. I haven't seen you at a single one!" She yelled.

"Well... that's because it was in a different country..." I whispered. She raised an eyebrow at that, angrily.

"Oh, well now you're getting sassy with me!? Ugh, I misunderstood the kind of person you are entirely. Get away from me." She demanded. I wanted to say something, but she walked away before I could force anything out.

Imamura Mitsuri, the Ultimate Activist. She's been in every protest in Japan, and has changed many laws because of it. She believes in peaceful protest, but by the way she gets angry at about basically everything, it's not common that people think that she's performing violent or inappropriate acts. But she's never laid a single finger on anyone, or been any kind of menace to society.

Tears fell down my cheeks, as I stared at the ground. I wiped them with the back of my hand. I'm not going to be friends with everyone here, but I just wasn't expecting that anger. I need to calm down. I need... to stop being so weak. Not everyone is going to be your friend. Not everyone... is going to be... your friend.
