-Venus POV-
We have a new case as we were looking at a crushed-up car with a body inside as Hodgins says, "Looks like someone with a crooked nose was trying to get rid of our friend here." Temp then says, "There's no way to know that the killer had a crooked nose." I chuckle at Temp as Daisy asks, "You mean, the mob? It was a mob hit." Cam then speaks, "He clearly wasn't wearing a seat belt." I nod adding, "Yeah, he looks a bit jammed in there." I look at them all giving me a look as I gave them my famous smile trying not to laugh at my own joke as Daisy does laugh. Hodgins then says, "We're going to need the Jaws of Life to pry this guy out of here." Temp quickly looks at him, "No. That could compromise the remains." I nod agreeing even though it sound nice just open everything up as Daisy then says, "It seems that any viable examination pre-extraction is impossible, unless somebody has X-ray vision." She laughs as it her turn to get the look as Cam bends down towards Temp and I saying, "I meant to warn you two that Ms. Wick came up in the rotation." I nod, "That's nice."
Daisy then says, "This time you'll be glad I'm here, Dr. Brennan, I promise. I will be just as good as your assistant Venus." I question, "Assistant?" Before I could say something, else Daisy looks inside the crushed car, "The height of the nasal root points to a Caucasian. The large brow ridges suggest a male." I nod as Temp says, "We need cause of death." "Of the Caucasian male? What can be seen of the temporal, zygomatic and frontal bones indicate that they're in multiple fragments, possibly from the crushing of the car." I nod as Cam speaks, "We have access to blood and fluids. I'll run a tox screen."
I then add, "Ranger is checking the records at the junkyard to see who brought in the car and when it was processed. Hodgins you will use an endoscope to retrieve any particulates without disturbing the remains." He nods as Temp gets a call, "Brennan." She walks off for a moment as Daisy comes up to me poking my shoulder as I turn looking at her smiling as she says, "Wow. That was amazing what you did there giving orders around even when you are an assistant intern like me. I wish I had the same level of respect as they give you to me as well. Especially even Dr. Brennan has respect for you and lets you go with her on the case with the FBI." I smile a bit as the others try not to laugh at me getting misunderstood as an intern again as I say to her, "Sorry Daisy for bursting your image of me like this... but they give me respect because I am not an intern like you or the other interns doing rotations." She looked confused as I sigh a bit but kept my smile as I stick my hand out towards her, "All right, let's redo this whole thing again. Hi, I am Dr. Venus Brennan and I work here at the institution." She shakes my hand freezing when I say my name as she has a look of processing that information.
Everyone looks at her wondering if she was okay as she hasn't said anything for a few seconds as we were about to ask if she was all right when she finally starts speaking, "Oh my goodness! I didn't know that you were a Dr. You look so young. How old are you? Wait! You said that you are a Brennan. Does that mean that you're related to Dr. Brennan... Of course, you are. What am I thinking. I didn't mean to disrespect you like that when I thought you were an intern. You must have a bad image of me, but I swear I am not a rude person or anything..." We all watch her ramble as everyone got over it as I then stop her by saying, "Daisy!"
She stops as I sigh in relief, "You're fine Daisy. You did not offend my in any way. Like I said, people always misunderstand me as an intern here at the Jeffersonian. As for being a Brennan, yes, I am related to Dr. Brennan. Temp is my older sister. I am also 23 years old and as for how to address me, I would prefer you sticking with just Venus like you usually do. All right." She nods as I pat her back as she adds, "Wait! You're the same age as me?" I nod, "I guess?... I don't know your birthday, but if you are also 23 then yes, we are the same age." She nods, hugging me. "You are even cooler than before." I pat her back as Cam tries not to laugh as I look at her not knowing what else to do as she then suddenly let's go of me and backs away, "I shouldn't do that since you are still my senior regarding on our work experience here."
I just smile and nod moving over right next to Cam as we then bend down to examine the remains from the frame, we could see it through. We then hear Angie walks over to Hodgins who was taking notes as she says to him, "Hey, have you been seeing anybody?" We peek up a bit seeing what was going to happen as Hodgins looked at Angie, "Listen, I don't want to be rude, but I just don't think that's any of your business." "I haven't." We watch Hodgins deminer change drastically, "Me, either." "But I'm going to start." "Right, yeah. Me, too. I mean, like, right away." "Sweets agrees that it's time." Hodgins and I ask, "Sweets?" I cover my mouth as Angie says to him, "We shouldn't fear putting our hearts out there." "Sweets?" We then hear Daisy say, "That's so beautiful." I add, "That doesn't really sound like something Sweets would say..." Cam adds, "And so inappropriate over a decomposing body." Temp then comes back from her call as she says, "Booth found out who delivered the car to the junkyard for crushing." She starts walking away again as I stand straight, "Well that's my que to follow as well. Good luck with the crushed car, decomposing body, and love life." I left catching up to Temp getting over to Booth who was going to pick us up.
We were walking over to the building as Booth says, "Invoice was made out to B & B Enterprises. This was the sixth car that was crushed and sent back to this address." I nod as Temp asks, "Oh, so you think there might be five more bodies?" I shrug as Booth says, "Well, you know what? If this is mob-related, and we bring down the big boys..." I nod, "Yeah." "... we will sell the movie rights for a fortune." Temp then asks, "But what if it's not the mob?" "Come on. Do the math, Bones." "Well, the math wouldn't indicate motive or identify a suspect. And you haven't even provided enough variables..." I chuckle cutting Temp off, "Sorry Temp, but that was a figure of speech, Ranger said." Booth nods, "Here we are." He starts taking out his gun as well as I as Temp tried to just go in front of us as Booth pushes her back behind me, "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. What goes first?"
She looks at me as I point over to my gun as she nods saying, "Gun goes first." Booth nods, "That's right." Temp then asks, "But if you both get shot?" "Don't say things like that. You're gonna jinx us, all right?" I nod, "Yeah, it's not really a nice image to think about right now Temp." "Well, if you're relying on superstition for safety, perhaps I should carry the gun." Booth shakes his head, "No. you are definitely not carrying a gun." "Why? Venus is younger than me, but she gets to carry a gun around?" "That's because I trust her more with a gun and she has trained in any types of weapons making her more reliable." Temp thinks about it and nods, "Yes, I agree with you about Venus being more knowledgeable and reliable with a gun more than me." Booth nods looking at the locked door. "Great you agree. Blueberry..." He points over to the lock door with his head as I nod getting on a knee taking out a pin and opening the door with it as Booth tells Temp, "Give her some space, all right?" "Is that legal?" "Look, if anybody asks, the door was open." "No, it isn't." Booth and I give her a look as she nod, "Oh. Right."
I nod at her as I stand back up, "All good." Booth nods, "Okay." We get our guns ready at any moment as he covers the front as I cover the back and the sides as Temp stays behind me. We enter looking around as we hear door closing right up ahead as Booth and I point over to the direction. We hear footsteps approaching seeing a figure come out from the room as she comes into the light revealing a woman covered in heavy makeup. Booth then asks, "Okay, what the hell are you supposed to be?" Temp then gets our attention, "Booth, Ven?" I looked at her, "What happen?" "Look at this." We look down seeing blood as Booth asks, "What is it?" The woman answers, "Blood." We looked at her as she was not a bit concerned or worried.
Booth brought in a forensic team as they were checking every piece of artwork and everything within the building as I then say to Temp and Booth, "The artist did a series of six sculptures over the past two years." Booth was surprised, "Sculptures? Whoa. These things are going for hundreds of thousands of dollars." I nod as Temp adds, "All cultures put a great value on art." "Yeah, art. A nice bowl of fruit, uh, dog playing poker. If I sold all the crap that was in my garage, I could retire. I could make a fortune." The woman then comes up to us, "Geoffrey's work is a brilliant examination of consumerism and the destruction of the soul." We look at one of the art pieces as Temp says, "I see twisted metal." I then say to Temp, "I think she wants us to look beneath the surface." The woman smirks and nods, "At least one of you are bright enough to understand." Booth was getting irritated as he then says, "Oh, we did look beneath the surface and we found a dead body, which is exactly why you're not going anywhere."
We then hear Marcus coming from behind us, "Agent Booth?" "Yeah." "The luminol is showing evidence of blood all over the floor." Then woman then says, "Of course it is." We were confused as Booth asks, "Excuse me?" "Kiko was here." "Kiko?" "Kiko, the performance artist. Pig's blood is an integral and crucial part of her work." Temp and I were confused as she asks, "Is that even legal?" I shrug not knowing as Booth says, "Well, we'll decide what's pig and what isn't. Pull some samples." Marcus nods, "Okay." I see he had a bit of a disgusts face as I then say, "Keep up the good work Marcus." He nods going to get samples as the woman says, "I've already called my lawyer." Booth nods, "That's great. Tell him to meet you down at the FBI offices." She then laughs confusing us, "Oh, I didn't call him for me. You see how much these works are worth. You are liable for any damages." Booth and I snort trying not to laugh as he says, "Damage?" Temp was smiling as she says, "They're crushed cars." Booth adds, "They're wrecks." The woman was not amused, "Fortunately, your ignorance and lack of appreciation of Geffrey's work don't affect its value." I then nudge Booth, "Ranger, I know that it sounds silly... but they do get sold for very high prices and you don't make that much to buy even half of the wreck art." Booth then turns yelling out, "Okay, all right, guys. Careful handling the junk. Apparently, it is art. All right?"
Another woman comes walking over to the lady as she says to us, "Uh, perhaps I could help? I'm Roxie Lyon, Geoffrey Thorne's assistant." Temp then asks, "Does the artist make a habit of encasing corpses within his sculptures?" "Excuse me?" Booth adds, "Well, we found one of these crushed cars and traced it back here to this address." Marcus then comes back over to us, "We've done the best we can without ripping one of these things apart." "No accordion-dead bodies?" "The cadaver dogs can identify human blood. They didn't find any." We then hear Roxy say, "Oh, my God." She goes past us to the woman, "Helen?" "Yes?" "Do you think Geoffrey might have actually done it?" "No. That was all just depressed artist talk, Roxie. You should know that. You're a depressed artist yourself." This was confusing as Booth intrupts them, "Hello? Do you want to explain this to me?" Roxie nods, "Uh, recently Geffery has been talking about finding a way to make himself part of the art." I then ask, "Do you mean literally?" Helen adds, "The ultimate artistic act." Roxie continues, "Geoffrey was depressed, and he said he felt like he reached his limit as an artist."
Booth then says, "We'd like to show you a picture of the remains, only if you're up for it." Temp then adds, "I suggest you don't look at the person, but rather this distinct ring." Helen looks then says, "That's Geoffrey." Roxie nods, "I know that ring. I designed it myself. It's Geoffrey." Helen then looks up at the roof, "Bravo, Geoffrey." I was highly confused as I didn't know what to say to her as Temp says, "You are an extremely unlikable woman." Booth then asks, "Mr. Thorne have enemies?" "Why? It's obvious he did this himself." I shrug, "It may to you, but we actually require evidence." Temp nods as Roxie says, "Anton DeLuca. He's an artist and a rival of Geoffrey's. They had a pretty big argument here the other night." Booth asks, "About what?" Helen answers, "What all artists argue about- money."
I get a call from Cam saying that Helen had got an injunction on the wreck car containing the body. So that means that we can't tear the car open and find another way to look at the body without 'damaging' the wreck car... Temp, Booth and I are at the rival's place Anton as we informed him about Geoffrey's death as he says, "Geoffrey Thorne dead? This is a... great day for the art world." Booth then says, "Yeah, well, last time you were seen together, you were arguing." "Well, we never say each other without arguing, so..." Temp then asks, "You disliked Geoffrey Throne?" "Well, let's just say between his work and his guts... I don't know which I hated more." Booth then speaks, "Yeah, well, artistically speaking, crushing him up in his own work, that would be very, uh, symbolic." "Is that what happened? Oh, that, that's hilarious." He starts laughing, "He crushed himself inside one of his stupid car sculptures? An exhibitionist right to the bitter end. How Po-Mo." Booth was confused as he asks Temp and I, "Po-Mo?" I answer, "Uh, Post Modern." Anton then says, "Let me tell you, Geoffrey's hermetic aestheticism was choked with tawdry pastiche. He had plastic intentions and weak enterprise."
Booth looked highly confused as he looks at mostly Temp, "All right, someone I understand less than you." She then looks at a sculpture, "This is asymmetrical and yet still pleasing to the eye." Booth then says, "Okay, I take that back. Why don't you just say it's... pretty?" I chuckle as Anton says, "I don't do pretty." "Okay. Simmer down there, Picasso. You get a compliment you be polite." "I don't do polite either." Temp then says, "Maybe that's why you're broke." Anton turns to us, "Who gave you my name? Was it that Kabuki ghoul, Helen Bridenbecker?" I laugh a bit as Anton looks at me and smirks as Temp says, "Shouldn't you be trying harder to look innocent?" Booth nods, "Yeah. How long have you and Thoren hated each other?" "You can write down, since before the big bang." Temp thought he actually meant that as she says, "Oh, no. There was no 'before' before the big bang, because time didn't exist. If there are no organizing properties..." I then stop her with a small chuckle, "Uh, Temp... Ranger will just put down, that it's been a while." Booth nods as he then asks, "So, why were you arguing at the gallery?" I then add, "We heard it was about money." "Well, I might have said he was a sell-out. Usually do. But I didn't think to kill him. Now it's too late, right?"
Booth then says, "Well, if you didn't kill him, then, uh, who did?" "I'd look at his girlfriend if I were you." Temp then says, "No one has mentioned a girlfriend." "Roxie. His 'assistant.' He said he was gonna leave all his money to her. I mean, this is kind of basic stuff you guys should know, right?" We then start leaving as we hear Anton say as he looks at me, "Hey, how about you come over later and you could you know pose for my painting a bit?" I just stared at him as Booth turns me around saying, "Not even close to your league dude. Let's go Bones, Blueberry." We leave as Temp says, "You didn't blush like you normal did. Does that mean that you finally...." She looks at me seeing that I was red as I look over at Booth, "How... how was that Ranger.... Did... did I last longer this time?" He nods patting my head, "Yup, you kept your composure till the end." I nod still embarrassing red still as we head back to the car.
We were back at the lab as I was with Cam and Daisy trying to look at the remains with a scope. Cam decided to do it herself as I watch the screen to see if we got anything as Daisy says to Cam, "Did you have like buckets of coffee this morning? You're very shaky." I just smile as Cam says, "Could you take a step back, please?" I then say to cam as she moves around, "Just a bit more to the left Cam." Daisy adds, "Like tip-toeing mice." Cam couldn't keep her hands still as she then says, "Oh, rats." Daisy asks, "Do you want me to try? Let me try. I'm very dexterous." I then look at her, "I didn't know that." She nods happily as I then look over seeing Temp with a pot filled with something as she looks over at us as she looks at me in the eyes. I turn my head to the side confused on what she was trying to do as Cam switches with Daisy as she says, "Oh, you won't be sorry." I then see Temp poring the pot filled with insects down the wrecked car as my mouth opens from shock as Cam also looks not knowing what to do or say as Temp then says, "I was going to say that I had an accident over here, but I don't like lying."
I then say, "You dumped a bucket full of domestic beetles onto this work of art. They'll strip the flesh off our victim within 30 hours." Temp nods as she then asks Cam and I, "Am I fired?" I shake my head smiling as Cam says, "Au contraire. Remind me of this moment around Christmas bonus time." I nod as I say, "Tell me what you want Temp, and I will gladly buy or make it for you." She nods happily as Daisy then says, "I'm in!" Temp then says, "Uh, good work, Ms. Wick." "Well, we could've been here hours ago if Dr. Saroyan would have given me the endoscope sooner." "Thanks for mentioning that." "There's too much flesh to really get an idea of the bone damage." I then say, "30 hours." Temp nods as we start walking away to do our other work that needs to be done.
