The Crime Scene

"... Just act casual." Nancy said to Fred as she turned her car towards the crime scene. She stopped as a police officer stepped up to the car. "Hi officer." She then glanced ahead, and saw through the windscreen something that made her pull a face of confusion. "Wait, is that that new teacher?"

Up ahead, Miss Quatre was standing outside her own car, talking heatedly with a second police officer, the vocals of  Bonnie Tyler emanating from within the vehicle.

"Look, look, can you just turn down the music?" The officer tried desperately, evidently coming to the end of his wick. "That's not really appropriate."

Miss Quatre snorted, "Who doesn't like Bonnie Tyler?" But complied, reaching through her car window to turn down the stereo.

She was wearing a grey pencil skirt this time; with a matching suit jacket, elegantly pleated around the middle. She wore leather gloves and black high heels, a long-strapped bag thrown over her shoulder, and her long hair once more was a fluttering black train down her back.

Turning back from the car, she rounded on the officer, arms crossed over her chest. "So as you know, being that this is one of our students, the school has great interest regarding the welfare of our pupils in relation to this case; and so, whilst I understand this is an ongoing investigation, I would appreciate any information that you could share with me to that regard."

Trust-me trust-me trust-me trust-me...

The officer almost laughed; this was ridiculous, that was absolutely not how schools went about doing this kind of thing.
But there was something else, he couldn't explain; something that caused the sound to die in his throat.

...Trust-me trust-me trust-me trust-me...

Like a loud heartbeat drumming in his ears. She was looking at him, unblinking; drawing him in with those all-absorbing eyes, a knowing smile twitching at her lips.

...Trust-me trust-me trust-me trust-me...

"Tell me, how was she found? What did she look like?"

"Eddie's uncle, Wayne Munson, he found her. She's... mangled- twisted up, bones broken, lots of blood. It's not pretty."

"And her eyes?"

"Gone."

Miss Quatre smiled again, and it was like the spell broke. "Thank you." She turned from him, walking up to Nancy's car and hammering her hand loudly on the hood, twice, just in front of Fred. "Look lively, Benson. You're not dead yet."

Fred visibly jumped in his seat, yanked back from wherever his mind had been taken.

"You alright there?" Asked the police officer who had been talking to Nancy, looking at Fred in concern.

Satisfied, Miss Quatre waltzed back to her car, slinking into the driver's seat and turning up the music as she started the car and tore away.

A/N: Up top is the music Miss Quatre is listening to in the car.
I'm always really careful in selecting the music I include in fics from a narrative standpoint, so please do have a listen; it should only improve your experience.
I am also aiming to make the music (at least the stuff the character's directly hear) time-period accurate, but please forgive me if I don't get this right.

And yes, the image is (or close to) Miss Quatre's outfit- I like to pick out costumes for her, particularly given the show is a visual medium, just to give you that extra visual element.

Anyway, hopefully you could tell which of the original scenes from the series this is meant to be parallel to- if you haven't guessed, I aim to be staying as close to the original narrative of season 4 as possible, at least to start with.

Please like and comment your thoughts if you enjoyed!
