Julianne POV
"Come on Jules, it will be fun." My best friend, Ashley asked me for about the fifth time.
I sighed. "I don't know."
"Please" Ashley begged.
Ok, I think I better explain some things here.
To start out, my name is Julianne and at this moment, my best friend, Ashley is begging me to
go to a Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets game with her.
(Sigh) It sounds like fun, it really does but I don't know that I am feeling up to it.
Here is why.
Just yesterday, I got into a huge fight with my boyfriend David, which resulted in us breaking up.
To say, I'm a little heartbroken is an understatement.
In fact, at this moment, I can feel the tears starting to fall.
Ashley sighs and puts her arm around me.
"Come on, Jules, just come with me. The last thing you need is to be alone right now. It will really help
to clear your mind."
I sighed. "All right."
Ashley hugged me. "Awesome. This is going to be fun."
I could not help but smile.
I do love football.
Well....I must admit it was an awesome game.
The Dolphins won 28-7.
Wahoo!
"Well, I have had fun. " I said, with a smile. "Thanks for asking me to come."
"I knew you would." said Ashley."And it's not over yet."
"What?"
"Ok, Julianne, brace yourself for the news. I've got us tickets to get into the Dolphins locker room."She said, nearly bursting out of her skin.
"Shut up! Are you serious? How did you manage that?"
"Well....since I started dating Mike Wallace."
"What?!" I asked, with my mouth gaped open.
"You heard me."
"Girl! Since when?"
"About a week ago." Ashley said, sheepishly.
"And you didn't tell me?" I asked.
"I wanted to wait and see how it turned out."
"Well, I sure am happy for you. And excited. Let's go. I can't wait to meet him." I said, happily.
Ten minutes later, we were in the locker room.
Ashley spotted Mike and we walked over to him.
After the two of them exchanged a quick kiss, Mike looked at me.
"You must be Julianne."
"Yes" I said, with a smile as I extended my hand out for him to shake.
"Ashley talks about you all the time." Mike said.
"All good I hope." I said.
Oh, and I feel the need to mention if any of you do not know, Mike Wallace is a wide receiver for the Dolphins.
Anyway.....
Before Mike could say, anything else, he was interrupted.
"Well, well, well.....what do we have here?"
I glanced over and noticed Dion Jordan,defensive end for the Dolphins standing at the doorway.
He is so cute.
But I must admit he is looking at me in a way that is making me slightly uncomfortable.
"Oh man" Mike muttered as Dion started strutting over to us.
"MMMM MMM aren't you sexy?" He said, looking me up and down.
I could feel my face burn with embarrassment.
Dion pulled me close to him and whispered in my ear. "They say kissing burns 5 calories a minute. How about a workout?"
Oh my God.
I have never been so embarrassed in my life so out of nowhere, I push him away from me.
"I can't."
With that, I ran out of the locker room.
I guess I'm still not over David.
Dion POV
I stared as that beautiful girl walked out the door.
Damn, I can't believe my pick up line did not work.
Most chicks would eat that up.
Before I could say anything, Ashley grabbed me by the ear and started pulling me off to the side.
"Ow ow OW!!!!" I groaned as she finally shoved me against the wall. "What the hell was that for?"
"Do you NOT have any decency at all?" She asked me.
"Yes I do! But what did I do wrong?"
Ashley sighed. "Well, nothing really. Julianne is just having a hard time. She just broke up with her boyfriend of two years last week."
I instantly felt bad. "Oh my God, I had no idea."
"I know." Ashley said. "That is why I felt that I needed to tell you."
"Well, thank you for telling me." I said. "Now, if you will excuse me, I have an apology to make."
"Go get her!" Ashley said, with a smile.
I smiled as I walked out of the locker room.
Yes, I have to make this right.
Julianne POV
I wiped the tears from my eyes as I sat on a bench outside of the Dolphins locker room.
Will I ever be happy again?
Or has my breakup with David scarred me for life?
I started to get up when all of a sudden there was a voice beside of me.
"Is this seat taken?"
I glanced up and noticed Dion standing there, his voice full of sincerity.
"Not at all." I said, smiling a little.
He sat down beside of me and began talking.
"First of all, your name is Julianne, right?"
"Yes" I said.
Dang, Ashley must have talked to everybody about me.
"Julianne, I am so sorry about earlier. I came on too strong."
"It's ok" I said, with a smile. "I'm just going through a hard time right now."
"And I just love to help pretty ladies going through a hard time." Dion said, and then looked me straight in the eyes. "Would it be all right if I asked for your number?"
"Ummm sure" I said, with a slight bit of uncertainty in my voice.
Then it hit me.
Julianne, you need to try to get over the past and move on.
And this could definitely be a good way to start.
So I gave him my number.
"Thanks" Dion said, with a smile."I'll call you in a few days."
"Ok" I said, smiling big for the first time in a week.
Well, Dion kept his word.
Three days later he called me and asked me on a date.
So tonight...here we are in a restaurant with a beautiful view.
I must say the food here is amazing.
We are now getting ready to have dessert and I am having a wonderful time.
Once the entire meal was finished, Dion looked straight into my eyes and took my hands in his.
"Julianne, I have something to tell you."
"Yes?" I asked.
"I am absolutely madly in love with you." He said, smiling big."Would you be my girl?"
I smiled big as well. "Of course, Dion, I would love to."
With that, he pulled me into a gentle kiss.
I do believe that I am happy once again.
