I killed it...I finally killed the serpent, Jormungand. After hours of trying to find its weakness, and even more hours following it, and trying to keep it from killing any more victims...I had killed it. Of course, if it hadn't been for Sam and Dean I would have been snake chow. I new I had to tell them. Obviously they saw me, and they'd start to ask questions...
“Siren?” I heard Dean's voice speak. “No...Those are different...” Sam said back. I decided to prop myself up on the back of the boat they had, and looked over to see them. “Damn right there's a difference!” I spoke up. The boys froze, then spun around, and I could see the roller coaster of emotions play out on their faces.
“Y/N...” Dean finally rasped, his face pale, looking as if he'd pass out any second. I sighed, and heaved myself up onto the boat, sitting on my tail, letting it flop out in front of me. My long Y/C/H fell over my breasts, shielding them from sight, but my gills where clearly visable on the side of my waists. My webbed hands rested on the deck of the boat as I kept myself upright, and I could feel Dean and Sam's intense stares.
“Hey guys,” I muttered, looking up at them through my wet lashes. Dean gripped the edge of the boat, still looking a whiteish color, while Sam simply stared in astonishment. “So...I'm a Mermaid. Not a Siren. A Mermaid. There is a difference, but not many people are aware,” I whispered. “I'm sorry I didn't tell you...I just...I thought you'd hate me,”
“W-we thought...We thought it killed you...” Sam spoke quietly, his eyes moist. I frowned, then it dawned on me. Of course they'd think I was dead! Why hadn't I thought of that?! God I was an idiot! “No! I-...God...I'm sorry...I-I didn't think that through,” I muttered. “CLEARLY! DAMMIT Y/N I FUCKING THOUGHT YOU WHERE...I thought...”
I jumped slightly at Dean's outburst, and watched him, lean over, and place his hands on his knees, breathing heavily. “We've been hunting with you...for years and you thought we'd hate you if you told us...What you where?!” He shrieked. “Yes Dean! I mean, can you blame me?! You killed Sam's friend, who was a kitsune, even though she never did anything! How was I supposed to react after that?!” I shot back.
Sam stiffened slightly, as did Dean. “I-” He couldn't find words to say. “I'm sorry ok?! I really am!” I cried, tears beginning to fall down my cheeks. A silence filled the air around us until Dean turned and punched the side of the boat, not even flinching. “FUCK!” He yelled, angry at nothing in particular.
“Dean!” Sam spoke, trying to calm his brother, but Dean only shoved Sam aside, as tears dripped out of his eyes. I gulped, and slowly began to sing. Instantly, both men relaxed, and Dean turned to me, his eyes wide. “What...Why...” He stuttered. I continued singing softly, and let myself change back to my human form, shielding my nude body.
I finally stopped singing, and Dean rushed over to me, hugging me close, and wrapping his leacher jacket around me. “When a Mermaid sings...It's calming...not hypnotic,” I muttered into Dean's chest. “Shut up,” He whispered, and held me in his arms. I hugged him back, and sobbed lightly into his chest. “I'm sorry,” We both spoke.
Dean tilted my chin up, and looked into my eyes. “It killed me...To think you where...” he trailed off, a tear falling. “I could never hate you Y/N...I love you too much,” He whispered. My heart jumped, and I widened my eyes. “I love you so much...I don't care what you are, just...No more secrets...”
“Ok...Ok I promise...I love you too Dean,” I choked out. He smiled slightly, and kissed my lips sweetly. I kissed him back, my arms going around his waist as I pulled him closer. He chuckled into the kiss, and I smiled. “I love you my little Mermaid,"
