Tae POV
"OK, thanks." I said, with a sigh as I hung up the phone.
This is just great.
Ok, so even though time is ticking for me, I'm still gonna take the time to stop and introduce myself to
you folks.
My name is Tae and at the moment I am in a bit of a pickle.
Here is my dilemma.
I am a single mom to my two year old son, Brantley.
Well, that is not really my dilemma, but this upcoming statement is.
My steady babysitter for my son Brantley just called and said she could not keep him today because
she is sick.
And to add to my woes, I have to be at work in thirty minutes!
Folks, it is pretty safe to say that at this point I am totally freaking out.
With tears in my eyes, I dial my friend, Leslie's number.
"Leslie! I have a serious problem!"
"Awww, what's wrong, my friend?"
"Jade just called and said she could not keep Brantley today. She is sick."
"Oh no." Leslie said. "I would do it but I have to work too."
"What am I going to do?" I asked, tearfully."I really need to work."
"I just thought of something. I know you have just moved to that area of town, but your next-door neighbor does baby-sitting."
"Which one?"
"Ben Rotethlisburger, that hottie quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers."
"Why in the world would a football player like him want to babysit.?"
"I guess he loves kids." Leslie said. "But at any rate, the man is insanely fine."
"Oh Leslie" I said, chuckling a little. My friend and her love for football players.
"Hey, just trying to help." She said, giggling.
I sighed."What is the man's number?"
So...with that.....Leslie gave me Ben's number and I hurriedly dialed his number.
Oh how I hoped that the man was available.
Ben POV
I was sleeping like a baby until my phone rang, literally scaring the crap out of me.
I jumped a mile as my eyes opened and I started to feel around on my night stand trying to find my phone.
Damn it, where the hell is it?
Well, when it was on its last ring, I finally found it and quickly answered.
"Hello?"
"Um, yeah, I heard you do baby-sitting." A female voice said.
"Why, yes I do." I said, trying to get myself woke up.
"Ok, well, my name is Tae. I am your next door neighbor and I
was wondering if you would be able to babysit my son, Tyler. My
regular baby-sitter called in and I am desperate I have to be at work in twenty minutes.
"No problem, I will be over there in five." I said.
"Thank you so much" She said, gratefully.
"You got it." I said, as I hung up the phone.
Awesome. Another job.
I know what you people are thinking.
Why the hell is a football player like me baby-sitting?
Well, frankly, it is something to do during the offseason.
I mean, I work out and stuff, but hell, ya gotta do other stuff too.
I quickly got my clothes on and headed next door.
This job is also really close to home so it makes it that much better.
Two minutes later, I was knocking on the door of the house next door.
A woman quickly answered the door.
"Ummm hello." She said, with a smile.
"Hey, you say you need a sitter."
"Yes desperately." She said. "Please do come in."
I stepped inside and saw a little boy sitting on the couch, watching cartoons.
"Tyler has already had his breakfast. I appreciate this so much." She said, hurriedly.
"Oh it's no problem, ummm-what did you say your name was?"
"My name is Shontavia but everyone calls me Tae."
"Ok, cool." I said, with a my charming smile.
Yes, folks, I love to charm the ladies.
Man, I really hope this one is single.
Tae gave Brantley a kiss. "Bye sweetie. This is Ben. He is going to baby-sit you today."
"O-tay" Brantley said, even though he looked a little tearful.
"I should be home around three." Tae said, as she quickly walked out the door.
After she left, Brantley had some tears in his eyes. "Mama!"
"Hey buddy, it's ok." I said, walking over to the couch and sitting beside of him."We'll have a good time today."
"o-tay" Brantley said, sniffling.
"So,what do you want to do?" I asked him.
"Pway ball!" He said, jumping up and down.
"Cool" I said. "You know I am a football player?"
"Weally?" Brantley asked excitedly.
"Yes" I said, with a smile.
Brantley smiled happily and we went outside to throw his little football in the yard.
I swear, this kid is so cute.
And frankly, so is his mama.
I REALLY hope she is single.
Anyway, so Brantley and I played together for a few more hours and then it was time to give him lunch and then his nap.
"So, little man, are you ready to lay down?" I asked him.
"If me have to, me guess." Brantley said, sighing.
I could not help but laugh as I tucked him into his race car bed.
"Have a good rest, little man." I said, as he yawned and eventually drifted off to sleep.
Around three, hottie-(I mean, Tae) returned home.
"Ummm hey." She said, nervously.
"Mama!" Brantley said, getting up from the couch and running to his mother.
"Hey sweetie, did you have a good day?" She asked him.
"Yes, Bwen is my favowite sitter!" He said, happily.
Tae looked at me and smiled."Thank you so much. You were a lifesaver this morning. How much do I owe you?"
"How 'bout a date?" I asked, with a wink.
"Ummm" She said, blushing.
""I'm serious." I said. "How about we go out sometime?"
""Ok, sure." She said, with a smile.
"Awesome. " I said, giving her another wink. "I'll give you a call."
"Great" Tae said, smiling.
After getting a hug from Brantley, I closed the door behind me.
So, folks, that is how I spent the day babysitting a cute little boy.
And scored a date with his beautiful mama.
:):) Hope you like it, my friend.
