Crap, I woke up fifteen minutes before school
I always set my alarm the night before to get to school on time
I hurriedly sit up in bed and glared at my alarm clock

In my rush to the bathroom, I fall flat on my face
Aargh, I whine and stand up from the floor
I rush to the bathroom and I'm so lucky...no, mother nature just had to visit today
I brush my teeth and take my bath within fifteen minutes
I dress in black sweatpants and hoodie and rush downstairs
I walk to the kitchen and there is a note from mum on the refrigerator saying she had been called to work earlier than usual and Brandon had taken the bus
I am late and I am not looking forward to facing Mr. Grumps
I am surely going to get an earful of how I think getting an A+ in one test can give me an excuse to be late to class
As I expected when I walked into school, the hallways are empty
I hurriedly take my AP Calculus textbooks from my locker and run
Fuck the rule of not running in the hallway
I bump into a body halfway through my sprint and fall on my butt
"Ouch", I exclaim. and look up to see Blaze looking at me with a scowl
"Happy to see you too", I mumble
He walks by me without a word and I stand up and walk after him
"You are so rude. Normally when you bump into someone making them fall you help them up
One tip of being polite, you're welcome"
"I didn't ask to teach me how to be polite and also why the hell are you following me", he snarls
"Anyways, since you are stalking me, where is the AP Calculus class", he says walking in the wrong direction
The class is opposite this way on the far end of the school building. I am surely going to be late for class
Blaze is suddenly in front of me with a raised eyebrow
"You spaced out", I asked you a question
"You could have asked politely"
"Well, I am not going to"
"Then you are free to roam the whole school. Be my guest", I snap walking in the opposite direction
"Wait, he yells. Can you please show me to AP Calculus"
"I didn't hear that"
"Yeah right, I am not saying it again", he says walking towards the exit
"Let him walk away,Lexi.Who cares if he skips?. It's none of your business",my conscience screams
"You can't skip school, classes just started"
He turns to me with a smirk
"And how is that your business?"
"Ignore him, ignore him", my conscience keeps repeating
"AP Calculus is the other way, you just have to apologize for being rude to me then I will show you where it is"
"I apologize for being rude to you even though a child will know to be focused when playing dodgeball"
The clock in the hallway told me I was fifteen minutes late for class. I am surely going to be receiving detention.
Well, that is as good as I can get from Blaze
"Let's just go, I sigh and start walking in the direction of AP Calculus
I stop in front of Mr. Holland's class and before I can prepare myself for his lectures, Blaze opens the door.
Everybody's head turns to us as Blaze strides into the room confidently. I walk into the classroom with my head down and every nerve ending in my body rising
"What do you think, Miss Magnus that just a good score on a test can give you a late pass to my class", Mr. Holland snaps
Called it
"No, no Mr. Holland,I just–"
"I got transferred here from Calculus", Blaze interrupts
"So you think that makes it excusable to be late to my class,Mr..."
"Ames", Blaze answers.
"Well, you being a transfer does not give you an excuse to be late to my class"
"It also doesn't give you an excuse to be a whiny bitch about it but here we are', Blaze mumbles aloud
Mr. Holland's eyes narrow and I bet if we were in animation right now,he would have steam coming out of his ears
I start snickering at that image and well I can't control the laughter that comes out of me
"Get out of my classroom; both of you", Mr. Holland bellows
"And report to the detention room after school"
My laughter ceases and I look at him to see if he is joking
"Yes, of course, your grumpy teacher would joke with you", my conscience states
"Get out!", he yells again
"Sheesh, who hurt you", I whisper
His face reddens and I'm very sure he heard that,I decide to finally leave
I walk out of the class with Blaze behind me
"Is he always like this?", Blaze asks as we walk through the hallway
"Yep, grumpy and annoying", I reply
"Congratulations on landing me my first detention,by the way"
"First detention;cliché good girl",I figured", he replies shrugging
"Cliché bad boy, how original", I counter sarcastically
"Must you always have a sarcastic answer for everything"
"You should appreciate sarcasm and dealing with stupid people every day takes a toll on you so sarcasm makes it fun".
He rolls his eyes and quickens his steps way from me walking towards the exit.
"Where are you going to?".
"Again; it's none of your business", he says turning to look at me.
"Right. Don't forget we have detention after school"
"You love my presence–admit it",he yells
"Whatever that helps inflate your ego"
