Bringggg
The sound of the school bell was deafening as you ran down the halls, books held tightly to your chest as your glasses slowly slid down your nose. You were going to be late for class, your first day no less. Breathing heavily you burst into the classroom. The teacher was nowhere to be seen.
A sigh of relief left you, no one seemed to have noticed you yet. For this you were thankful, you were never much of a people person.
The stool scraped against the floor as you pulled it away from the desk before sitting down and carefully setting your heavy, overpriced, textbooks aside.
You were giddy to be finally starting college, it wasn't easy for you high school wasn't the best experience you had. The curriculum was overall trash and the teachers rarely showed up to teach but thankfully you had found time and energy to teach yourself many useful skills at home. Scholarships were nonexistent in your little school so you were shocked when a University reached out to you.
"Hey, I'm Alisa." you looked to the empty spot next to you, a girl with platinum blond hair was now sitting on the stool. She was smiling, however it was obviously fake as her eyes displayed her boredom and general disgust.
"You must be new around here. I've never seen you around and I pride myself on my amazing memory when it comes to recognizing faces." she was well dressed and her face was practically coated in makeup.
Despite your impulse to cringe you stuck your hand out showcasing a bright smile as the woman shook your hand. "I am new, actually it's my first day, the names [Y/n]. It's good to meet you Alisa."
With that the teacher entered the room silencing all conversations.
"Hey, [Y/n]!" you turned, your glasses slid down your nose.
Alisa was approaching you, a few other people you didn't recognize. A brunette and black haired male followed closely behind Alisa.
"We were going to have a study group tonight, it would be nice if you would tag along."
You smiled scratching the back of your neck as you thought the offer over. Well you had no plans for tonight so why not.
"Sure, oh let me get your number so you can let me know the time and address." As you went to grab your phone from your back pocket you almost dropped your books but thankfully one of her possy, a boy with short black hair, helped you by stopping the books. "Woah, careful there." he chuckled slightly.
"Sorry."
After you exchanged numbers you were on your way home to prepare for the hopefully fun night.
Haddonfield was pretty dead at night you observed as you drove through the empty streets, a CD playing your favorite song through the speakers. You looked into your rearview mirror when you stopped at a red light, the first thing you noticed was how your black backpack fell over, a few of its contents slipped out. The next thing you noticed was the man in the white mask standing under a lamppost not more than a block away. You blinked and it was gone.
You brushed it off and kept driving, turning up the radio as you sang along.
Soon you pulled into the driveway of a nice looking house, four other cars in the driveway. One extra person you noted as you parked.
Turning the car off you unbuckled and got out slamming the driver's door shut, you swung the door to your backseat open before pulling out your bag along with the few items that escaped, you pulled a few items from a black duffel bag you kept under the seats at the last moment. After all you can never be over prepared.
As you made your way up to the front door you heard a loud snap sound off somewhere in the bushes surrounding the property. Once again you ignored it and knocked on the door. You pushed your glasses back up, they were starting to get on your nerves. A smiling brunette opened the door, so this must be the extra person. He was tall and buff, an obvious jock unlike the guy from earlier who was more slim and not as muscular.
"Hey, you must be [Y/n]." he was studying you as he let you into the house. The inside was just as remarkable as the outside, an obscene amount of white filled the home. It was too much in your opinion, could use a paint job.
A hand firmly gripped your shoulder making you turn to face the jock who was glaring at you. "Look man, gonna be honest here I don't know what you want from Alisa, but she's taken." it was silent before you suddenly burst out laughing confusing the guy in front of you.
"Oh, don't worry I don't really swing that way." his face morphed into one of shock then understanding before he released you, almost shoving you. He was uncomfortable, you could easily live with that. No other words were said as you followed him through the halls. He stopped in the kitchen to grab a few things and you noted how it was surprisingly pretty basic. It consisted of a counter that ran along one side of the wall, a sink, dishwasher, and fridge and a few small closed windows above the counter where dishes were stacked.
The both of you finally got to what you assumed was the living room.
"[Y/n], glad you could make it!" you were caught off guard as the guy with the black hair from earlier embraced you in a friendly hug. "Hey- I don't think I got your name."
"Oh, that's right. It's Jacob." His smile was infectious and seemingly genuine.
"[Y/n], glad you decided to come." you pushed up your glasses. "You should get those resized or something, constantly pushing them up must get annoying." Alisa scrunched her nose up before she began clinging to her boy toy.
"Yeah, been meaning to but I've just been so busy." you sat down next to Jacob on the floor before pulling out your notes. "Oh, you got a job or something?" Jacob seemed happy that you chose to sit next to him and scooted closer "Not exactly, more of a passion project. Top secret." you winked at Jacob and stifled your laughter as Alisa's boyfriend visibly recoiled in disgust.
Crash
Everyone seemed to still as a loud crashing filtered through the house before everything fell silent no one dared to say a word as they were all scared.
"What the fuck was that?" Mr. Preppy asked as he tried to hide the small shake in his hand. Jumpy aren't we you thought. "Maybe we should go check it out?" the brunette from earlier chimed in as she stood her fingers fiddling with the ends of her top as she tried to peer outside the open door.
"That sounds like a good idea." you stood next making Jacob slowly follow before he gripped your forearm obviously scared. It was cute how quickly he clung to you, his eyes blown wide in fear.
With that you all went into the kitchen to see a stack of plates on the ground, shattered.
It was cold.
The window was open.
Everything happened quickly and was followed by a blood curdling scream. The brunette girl's shirt slowly stained red as a tall masked man stood behind her. The boogeyman pushed her to the floor simultaneously unsheathing his knife from her, she was slowly bleeding out. Red is such a pretty color, she should've worn it more.
Jacob pulled you behind him snapping you back to reality, why do these people keep screaming you thought as Alisa ran through the halls with you and Jacob.
Alisa looked distraught as tears of hysteria fell down her face ruining her makeup, her boyfriend wasn't much better he seemed to be slowly breaking down. This didn't surprise you, after all it was a normal reaction when faced with death. Soon the four of you were in a spare bedroom on the second floor. Alisa's boyfriend quickly locked the door before flicking the lights on and then spewing his guts on the floor as he looked behind the group.
On the floor two people were tied and gagged, gutted. The walls and floor were painted in a vibrant crimson, the gruesome scene made Alisa fall to her knees and grip her hair. "Mom, dad." she screamed, her voice cracking.
What an idiot.
The doorknob jiggled before a harsh banging ensued, Michael was here now and he wanted blood.
"The window!" you exclaimed seeing as it was the only option of escape presented.
Everyone seemed to agree and made their way closer before pulling it open, "We can't, we'll fall!" Alisa said as she gripped the back of your shirt.
"You can stay here with Mr. Killer then bet you both can have a good ol time. Me however, I'm leaving." with that you climbed from the window finding your footing on the roofing, the tiles were dangerously slick and you almost slid a few times. "Come-on." you held your hand out to Jacob and he hesitantly took it. You smiled, this seemed to reassure him and thankfully the other two followed just as the door was broken.
"Careful, it's slippery-" it was almost comical how Alisa's boy toy lost his footing at that exact moment and he found himself sliding down the tiles, desperate for anything to stop his descent. He succeeded in doing so but sadly it was one of the last rows and he found his lower half dangling from the roof.
"Alisa!" the poor boy screamed as he struggled to climb back onto the roof.
Michael stepped out onto the roof, some blood got on his mask. He immediately looked to the distressed male before the three of us, the boy screamed for Alisa again. She turned away.
You and Jacob followed. Not long after the three of you scurried off a scream rang through the night air before a loud thud accompanied it. Small whimpers left Alisa as you all re entered the house from a different window, shutting it behind you.
"We need to get outside and leave." Jacob said before releasing you only to grab Alisa, who looked to be seconds away from a full blown panic attack. Once outside you all quickly ran to Jacob's car and hopped in, Michael exited the house just then, his blood soaked knife dripped and left a trail behind him as he approached. "Shit, shit, shit!" Jacob cursed as his car refused to start. "We don't have time for this shit!" you yelled as Michael got closer. He tilted his head and you gripped Jacob's shoulder.
You and Jacob booked it, Alisa following close behind, the three of you ran into the small forest surrounding her home. "Come on! There's a small shed the gardeners use around here."
Almost there.
Alisa screamed as she was grabbed by the throat and lifted from the ground, Jacob faltered in his steps as he slightly turned only to see Alisa being slowly torn apart one stab at a time. Michael seemed to make her death last, the poor thing.
Despite Jacob's better judgement you both left her there and continued running for the shed. It was small and filled with tools, little moonlight filtered in from a few cracks in the boards. It wasn't much but it was enough to see. The two of you huddled behind a tarp in the corner.
It was quiet except for Michael's footsteps. Jacob gripped your forearm so tightly it was painful. The man huddled close to you shaking as the doorknob to the shed rattled.
Jacob grabbed a pair of trimmers from the ground and held it to his chest. You smiled down at him admiring how he still had the will to fight despite the situation being so hopeless.
You rested your hand on his before taking the clipper, and he let you. "Jacob, it's okay. He won't hurt you."
The man was baffled and looked to you as if you grew a third head "What the fuck do you mean he won't hurt me?! Didn't you see what he did to everyone else!"
You held his face as you chuckled, god you loved this game "That was different, they were his. But you, you were my favorite Jacob."
The light filtering through the wood casted a few strips of moonlight on your face but most importantly it glinted off the small hunting knife you kept in your pocket, the blood drained from his face then, in more ways than one.
Michael looked up from his knife as the shed door opened. You stood there with a goofy smile on your face, hunting knife in hand. Blood covered your clothes a small amount smeared on your cheek, the glasses you stole from a previous victim were discarded. Happily you bounced up to Michael before taking one of his hands holding it lovingly.
"It was a killer show, thank you Michael."
The masked man snorted at your cheap joke before he rubbed his hand against your cheek, fondly smearing the blood further towards your lips before he leaned in pressing the latex lips of his blood covered mask against yours.
With that the two of you disappeared into the night driving off to find your next form of entertainment.
