Sitting position:
Jisoo looked up from her phone to Jennie, not this again... Jennie looked utterly irritated right now, but she was still forcing a smile when Soojoo started a conversation with her.
Jisoo tried to engage with the conversation on the other side of the table when she suddenly felt Soojoo's fingers intertwined with hers. She wanted to let it be since it was a habit for Soojoo to be clingy to her but then she caught Jennie was staring at her. She recognized this stare from horror movies, it was when the monster was so ready to finish its prey. Chills was crawling down her spine; Jennie's eyes was eating her alive. She was fucking scared. She quickly pulled her hand away from Soojoo.
"Chu?" Soojoo asked innocently.
"My.. my hand is sweating. I'm sorry, you may not feel comfortable..." She stole a glance at Jennie, she didn't know why but she felt guilty.
"You're sweating? Is it too hot here? Shall we... you know..." Soojoo whispered seductively and added a little comical smile.
The laughter erupted from their table, Soojoo really knew how to lighten up the mood, even Taehyung was entertained by her remarks.
But not Jennie. Jennie was totally unimpressed.
"That's enough." Jennie hit the table with her clenched fist. Her face turned red. The table suddenly fell into complete silent, everyone was looking at her, baffled.
Lisa nudged Jisoo with her elbow. Jisoo couldn't bring her eyes away from Jennie, but she could read Lisa's mind: Bruh, you're so fucked up. She didn't know why exactly, but she knew she was somehow fucked up.
Rosé cleared her throat and tried to save Jennie's ass, "That's enough of chit chat! Let's drink woohooo!"
Lisa understood and followed her lead, "Woohooo~"
Bona, Jonyoung and Taehyung joined Rosé and Lisa just to avoid the awkward situation. Jisoo's eyes still fixed on Jennie, which the later was now having a staring competition with Soojoo.
"Friendship ring, huh?" Soojoo asked with a low voice.
"Friendship ring..." Jennie hissed.
"Okay, Jenniefer..."
"It's Jennie."
Soojoo began to read what was going on, she smiled knowingly at Jennie and let it slide.
As the night getting darker, the mood was getting lighter. Soojoo made all attempts she could think of to cling herself on Jisoo. At first Jisoo politely kept removing herself from her, but then she gave up because there was no way to make Soojoo stop clinging on and touching her. Besides, she felt nothing about her touch, so she let it be.
Jennie stole a glance at the pretty yet useless boy Taehyung, who repeatedly gave an uncomfortable look at Soojoo now and then, but did absolutely nothing. He tried to get Jisoo attention by cracking- what Jennie perceived as- very very lame jokes. But of course Jisoo laughed, and she laughed the loudest.
Jennie tried to enjoy herself but it was too difficult. So when the clock hit 11, she excused herself.
"It was so nice meeting you all but I gotta go home now," she smiled at them.
"Jennie come join us again sometimes." Jinyoung said warmly.
"It was nice having you, Jen." Soojoo winked at her.
"No wifey don't leave yet..."
"Thanks for stopping by Jennie."
"I'm taking her outside." Jisoo excused herself too. She followed Jennie to the exit.
"Where do you park your car?"
Jennie pointed to the left and she pouted.
"Jisoo! Did you hear that?"
"Heard what?"
"She called me Jennifer!"
Jisoo chuckled, "Soojoo likes to joke around. You'll get use to her."
"You can't keep your hands away from her."
"I did nothing."
"Exactly. You should've pushed her away or something!"
Jisoo sighed, she didn't want to fight tonight, especially because of Soojoo.
"Here, take it." Jisoo took off her jacket and gave it to Jennie, "It's cold."
"I'm okay." Jennie said but she shamelessly took it and put it on.
"Drive safe okay?"
"Why don't you go home with me..."
"It's because I don't want to bother you," Jisoo put her words carefully, knowing their fight last year was circling around this topic, "I want you to rest and I don't want you to drive too late at night. Do you get it?"
Jennie stomped her foot.
"Jennie... please tell me you get it." Jisoo said with a commanding tone, she didn't let herself giving in to that face.
"I get it." Jennie couldn't believe herself acting like a domesticated kitten in front of Jisoo. She cringed at herself.
"I'll.. I'll call you tonight?"
Jennie's pout turned into a smile, but she quickly suppressed it, "Ugh let's see later if I'm still awake when you call."
She walked away to leave Jisoo hanging there but then she felt Jisoo's hand on her wrist, stopping her and pulling her back to face her. Jennie looked at Jisoo in the eyes, she looked insecure but then she tightened her grip on Jennie to convince herself.
"Please try to wait for my call. I'm going home soon." she begged.
"Okay. If that's what you want." She gently caressed Jisoo's hand with her thumb, tried to ignore the burning sensation she had on every inch of her skin.
Can you feel the rushing pulse when you hold someone's wrist?
